Most of the Clinical staff at PCH is top notch. Excellent therapists, caring program directors and a willingness to help that is second to none. For mental health treatment, especially trauma, they are the absolute best.
At the same time, they are inept at filing insurance claims properly. It took about a year for me to get any claims paid and to date its just a small fraction of what I paid.
And beware that you must pay up front for each month of treatment. You can easily lay out tens of thousands of dollars but good luck getting it paid for by insurance. Like I said, completely incapable of correctly filing claims and providing insurance with medical records.
Further, do not send your child to PCH for substance abuse treatment as your child will find other clients who talk constantly about drugs and can even get your child them. This place is for mental health problems.
Be aware that staying at one of the PCH residences costs $10,000 a month on top of the monthly program charge. If you stay at an airbnb or hotel, you can save a LOT of money.
The support staff that oversees the residences are, for the most part, worthless. Actually they are worse than that since they have no psychological training and they often cause more damage than help. Which is why staying at an airbnb makes sense, although PCH will push their residences.
