If I could give them zero or negative stars I would!! This law firm named Patenaude & Felix who apparently represents TD Bank (Target National Bank), have violated my rights when they sent my personal information such as my Social Security Number to an old address even though they illegally accessed my credit report twice within the last two years in attempts to collect a debt that was outrageously inflated. Never provided me with any verification of original debt owed or billed my current address which they were fully aware of. Then by complete false "proof of service" to my old address which is coined by the term "sewer service" to my old address sent my debt collection case into default and levied my bank account which I barely had much to pay my essential monthly bills. They are full of it and go to great lengths after people who are working class and not sophisticated with the law even when they inflated the original debt owed by an outrageous amount almost 10 x over the original debt owed. They never had my permission to gain access to my credit report. When I originally tried to settle my debt with them, they threatened me and claimed that I could not make monthly payments. They wanted me to pay two huge lump sums that made no sense to me especially because I was jobless at the time of this phone call about 5-6years ago. I feel that they're a bunch of crooks. They are crooked debt collectors and stand behind a law firm that they swear up and down are hard working honest people. I was raised to work hard for myself and be honest. I've struggled a lot in my life due to family crisis but they don't care. They just want to rob me blindly. I wonder who else are hurting like myself by these liars and who are apathetic people. No compassion for the people who are struggling to make ends meet. Had I known I would've asked for a debt validation letter within 30 days of the first contact. I was young and naive because I thought they were so crooked for a debt I caused when I was a teenager over 17yrs ago. The amount was probably less than $1,500 and now they want $11k+ what in the world is wrong with these people? The GREED is serious and that is some serious karma to go after a defenseless person who is struggling with life especially during a pandemic crisis. If they had any heart they would've let me make barrow money from my family to make monthly payments but no, they just wanted their "money" now and no matter what it took! How do they sleep at night? I was even trying to make a deal to pay just about $1.5k in small monthly amounts and they denied me even that and gave me attitude about it. They threatened and demanded a massively inflated amount split into two payments. It's pretty bizarre and ridiculous. I'm livid and this is the type of treatment I get for trying to pay a debt thats older than the statutes of limitations which is 4 years. I feel bad for these people who only care about their self and not the well being of others while they demand excessive amounts of money. How do people sleep at night for stressing and crushing another person's faith in humanity like that? They also tricked me into giving up my social security number thats how they obtained my credit report illegally without my consent. They've exploited my ssn by mailing it to an old address in attempt to collect a very old debt that has exacerbated to a ridiculous amount. Imagine who else they're doing this too?
They need to DROP the act and STOP using fraudulent proof of service. Give people a brake if they're really struggling. STOP using my social security number by illegally requesting for credit reports. Quit being crooks. STOP abusing the FTCA and FDCPA laws. Be fair and use ethical ways to obtain debt that is reasonable and valid. Quit mailing my social security out to the hands of strangers as this violates my personal information and rights.
