There's a good but crowded adult hockey league here, since there's only one sheet of ice. As a result the skill gets pushed down into the lower divisions. There's a consistent "cheap skate" public session every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm where admission comes with free skate rental. You can park at the Paseo just to the north and get free 90 minute validation from the free validation machine near the restrooms.

Beware of weekends for public skating; it's crowded and chaotic with beginners and children indiscriminately flopping around on the ice. If you really want to skate without worrying about maiming a young child, Thursday evenings are less crazy and less crowded. Considering that it's the only game in town, the rink is large and well maintained.

Beautiful ice rink in the heart of downtown Pasadena, not so enjoyable when it is super crowded. A bit of crowd management could go a long way over here. The first thing that makes ice skating here difficult is that some people will join hands 3 to 4 people across and skate in a solid wall. The second thing are the training walkers that the kids use to stay standing on the ice. At other rinks, you could skate on the inside lane and avoid the beginners that hang onto the walls, but here they are blocking all skating lanes in the walkers. On the positive side, service at the front and with the rentals is excellent.

The best selection of classes for all skating levels and ages in LA. There are some very skilled and dedicated coaches. All personal is nice and friendly. Ice is soft and easy to skate on. Enjoy a very smooth glide right after resurfacing. However, ice is getting rough and badly cut within first our of public session. The rink is extremely crowded during and after winter holidays. Spring and summer public sessions are relatively light.

Good solid rink to go have some fun skating. It's decently priced at about $11, so not too bad for a few hours of skating. Skate rentals are an additional $3. The only drawback is that that ice gets worn down very quickly, and becomes quite rough soon after people start skating. But I did enjoy the disco music playing while there for sure.

My son takes skating lessons here. They have an open skate after class that he can skate for free in. Staff are always friendly. Kudos to the guys at the skate rental window for understanding when we need a different size skate or when one just feels funny. They never seem upset or annoyed that we had to switch skates. Last week one of the guys recognized my son and even remembered his size and had a pair of skates ready to hand us once we got to the window. My son has a great time learning to skate here. They even sometimes have 2 of the teachers do a choreographed skate show for the last couple mins of class!

Love but... They should sell good skate brands like riedell or jacksons for people who want to buy ice skates! They charge a little expensive but it's alright. Too far from my house. Private coaches cost too much! Still love thoe. Very great place to skate '--'

I practice here because I'm a competitve adult skater. I'm proud to represent this rink to the visitors. I just wish that there are a few more weekday afternoons for freestyle ice. I dislike skating in crowded weekend public sessions. I also miss the early morning Sunday public sessions. Too bad that the rink only allows it during the summer.

Awesome skate rink but during stick time they only allow you one side of the ice while the other side is occupied by kids who still skate on your side. The staff are extremely nice and always very helpful.

The ring is really affordable and a fun place to spend time. It's $11 to get in and $4 to rent skates. You can rent a locker for $1 (in quarters) to keep your stuff enclosed. Shoes can be placed under the seating area for the most part.

If you go for public skate, don't expect your toddler to get the 'helper' stabilizers that they have. They have VERY FEW, and 75% of the ones they DO have are screwed up so the bottoms don't glide on the ice the way they should.

Great place to go as a family or on a date. Admission is $11 & $4 for skate rentals. Parking is $15 but get ticket validated for a $2 savings. Wear thick tall socks to avoid blisters. Leggings or jeans with long sleeves will suffice. If you get cold easy then consider gloves, beanie, and scarf.

Its pretty fun its just its always crowded amd you can go only at designated times for free skate. Also they always cose the center of the rink which kinda sucks, but they do have the zambonie come out once in the middle of the desigrated time

Came here for a friend's birthday party last weekend and it was a lot of fun. The music - very important- was really all over the place, but in general: enjoyable. The DJ mixed stuff from very era and I enjoyed dancing and roller skating (haven't tried since I was a teen) but the ambience is a blast. I wish there were healthier food options, but it's no big I deal. Very family-friendly, the staff is nice as well- I think I found a new cardio lol. Will be back!

My daughter didn't like it as much as The Rinks in Lakewood because it was more crowded and the rule to all skate in the prescribed direction was more rigidly imposed and enforced here than other rinks.

We always enjoy the big ice rink, the concession stand and the price! Only $11 for adults to skate with your own skates, $3 extra to rent. We got to watch a amateur hockey game (girls/boys) after the public skate and that was fun, free entertainment.

Parking in the residence area is only for 2 hours so you have to stay in the skating center for less than two hours. The hotel charge $10 with validation for parking. You pay $14 fee for skating entrance with a total of $24 is too much for a day fun. Crowded on weekend. I suggest lunch bunch (no kids public skate). The good thing is that the rink is better than pickwick ice but Pickwick ice has free parking. I wish there is one rink around downtown la so that i won't go to far neither pasadena nor burbank.

Great rink...but keep your receipt handy. Management counts people on ice to see if you have paid! Great coaches! Clean! But the micromanagement and the idea you can online pay by card online for sticktime is just crazy. What happened to old fashion cash?!
