One of the historic wonders of Sintra to visit. Ticket gives access to visit the palace and the huge park / gardens around. Although the palace is stripped of all its original interior / filling (sold at auction), it is possible to perceive the charm and historical footprint of the space. It has access roads with reduced mobility. Discounts for children and seniors

It is one of the places in Sintra that is the least advertised but I was one of the places I liked the most. It is a dream palace with large gardens. You can make the visit on foot with its corresponding slopes .... although we took a train and the guide was very kind explaining the history and describing the places to us.
It has many species of plants distributed in different areas so it is pleasing to the eye and allows deep breathing!
The interior of the palace is devoid of furniture in most of the rooms, but the details carved on the walls are very beautiful.
You can get to this place by taking line 435 in the square of the national palace of sintra because it is far on foot and is not recommended due to the traffic and the narrowness of the roads.

It is a unique place for its architectural importance, for its unmistakable beauty, both inside and outside. It was the subject of a remarkable work in terms of restoration. It is an icon and a national pride.

Very beautiful place. With nice gardens. The palace itself is nothing special, apart from the external beauty and some nice rooms, not least because it started to be really restored a few years ago, since it was abandoned before. Some more detailed tourist information is missing from the map that visitors receive, as well as the species of local flora. Do not change Quinta da Regaleira, for example, for this palace.

Absolutely loved the gardens. They are full of unusual species and massive specimen trees. The house has some interesting features, especially the entrance hall but the main attraction is the gardens. Toilets and cafe on site.

Park and Palace of Monserrate ...
Magical place like all places in Sintra ...

In this place with Middle Eastern flavors you will find one of the most beautiful botanical parks, a place suitable for all ages, beautiful and harmonious, colorful and full of plants from all over the world ...
Really recommended, it is a place that makes you love right away, then however it is difficult to make mistakes in Sintra where all the places are beautiful!

Not even inconvenient to reach from the center!

Large garden with old trees. It has an area dedicated to roses, another to cacti, inside there is a cafeteria and you can hire a tuc tuc transport service inside. I liked what they call "false ruins". If you go to more than one of the visitor centers paying them at the same time, they discount 5 percent of the total.

It is not so much the palace itself that it is worth seeing its central corridor with its romantic decoration. The five stars are for their gardens. Careful with great care. Incredible photos. I recommend to explore it thoroughly and leave at least 2 or 3 hours and see it in depth.

What is the proper word to describe this place, eh? I think amazing is the one. Most people coming to Sintra tend to skip this palace, but actually I think it is one of the must visit place in Sintra. There are less people here, waay less, so you can take pictures of the beautiful gardens and surrounding nature as much as you like without people photobombing your shots. Aside of that, the palace itself is a real beauty. Its intricate wall and design is ready to take your breath away.

Absolutely amazing place, the gardens the tranquility and the place itself are just so special.
Definitely recommended to stay for an afternoon and really enjoy the setting and wonderful gardens, we stayed for afternoon tea but could stayed longer.
The story behind restoration is also very interesting, the palace is a stunning piece of architecture. Well worth the visit!
