I took the guided tour to the Parliament and loved it! Our guide was really friendly as well as all the staff. The building is just marvellous and the sense of being inside such an important place is a bit overwhelming. I really recommend the visit, it's really worth it, especially if you like politics, history and architecture.

I took up the free ticket option to see the 'Houses Of Parliament - Peterloo Exhibition' and, was unfortunately, disappointed.

It was just too small and almost pointless.

I remind everyone that the best museums in the world are for free which is why I cannot understand why visitors are charged to see the remaining areas.

Education (history) should be free.

Westminster Palace, also known as Parliament House...

Westminster Palace, also known as Parliament House, in London, England is where the House of Representatives meets. The castle is located on the north bank of the River Thames, in the City of Westminster, near the government buildings in Whitehall. The oldest part of the palace building is the Westminster Hall, which still exists, dating back to 1097. The palace was originally the residence of the king but no king has been there since the 16th century. Much of the structure of the palace This palace was built in the 19th century when it was rebuilt after a fire almost burned down completely in 1834. The architects responsible for rebuilding the palace were Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Welby Pugin. The House of Representatives section was rebuilt in the 1940s because it was bombed during World War II. The building is an example of Gothic revival architecture. One of the hallmarks of the palace is the Big Ben clock bell tower. The Palace has 1100 rooms, the most important rooms being the House of Representatives and the Senate. The palace also has committee room, hallway, dining room, bar, and gym. This is the place for national ceremonies, most notably the Opening of the National Assembly. This building is closely linked to the bicameral parliament, so people use the word "Westminster" to refer to Parliament.

How intricate and beautiful the architectural design of this place is is really marvelous. It s a great site for photos and simply enjoying the atmosphere of London. It s importance to the city makes it all the more great to visit. I loved checking this place out and I think anyone visiting London should.

It was raining at the time of the visit and the adjacent Big Ben was shrouded for refurbishment, but when this monument is in full shape and the weather is good, it must be the top. An ideal place for an evening photo shoot, the river shot is asking for it.

Fantastic place. I had a guided tour it was worth it. I am a history nerd so it was great to hear a British man explaining the history of the place, the events like the Queen opening the parliament (go see it on YouTube) and how the British parliament works. Again it is an amazing place

Love the architecture outside, although the inside has a lot to be desired. If you want to tour the place, then it is free during weekdays and also a chance for you to listen to political debates (if that is your thing).

Fantastic experience. The staff is very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The integration of our visit with the workings of parliament was seamless. And with the audio guide, we learned a tremendous amount about the buildings and the working of parliament, so I highly recommend the audio guide. Another solution would be a guided tour. Be aware that a lot of construction is going on both inside and outside. It is best to book your tour in advance. Also, photography is very limited inside the parliament buildings. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours. There is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and plan accordingly. A must visit in London.

This is a must see for all tourist and even locals. It is the symbol of the History of Britain and you can arrange tours around the Palace. Our government still runs the country's business from here. It's alive, big and stepped in history.

I have visited Parliament twice, both on issues to do with The Parliamentary Ombudsman; on neither occasion saw MP's genuinely resolve maladministrations against UK citizens. A nice building though- extra star for that!

It looks beautiful! It is something that you have to see if or if, especially for the photos, when I went the Big Ben was still in repair so the photos are not appreciated as expected but it is worth going to visit.

I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, the beauty, history and art the place holds has a real presence from when you walk through the door.

The Art collections have little rivals in the galleries of Europe.

The House of Lords is so decedent and luxurious it could hardly be compared to the House of Commons which isn't exactly dull, but isn't as golden

All should attend

Not only are the Houses of Parliament beautiful edifices that sit on prime real estate on the northern banks of the Thames River in downtown London - the very center as it were - but they are also steeped in history. Knowledgable guides give you the background and the history on tours which are well worth taking. There is so much to see and learn - this is a real insight into the multi-faceted history of England

No audio tour. Only guide tour. We took guide tour on May 15, 2017. The guide was Ros Caldecott. She was very very rud . I feeled like I was in the prison for a while. You can not step 1 meter away from her,l. When you enter the room - she didn't allow people to enter it.
She keeped people near the entrance (near the door to the room) for 10 minutes and described what is inside of the room. And after that really quick walk inside of that buitifull room.
23 people were in our group. When I bought tickets (52 pounds I paid for it) - I was told 20 people maximum will be in the group.
I asked her permission to move to the group which was following us (in that group were only 15 people) - she didn't allow me to do it.
Another reason why I wanted to move to the group which was following us: it was very hard to understand Ros's accent. I told Ros that I don't understand what she is talking (that another guide was talking very clear and it was easy to understand her). But Ros didn't allow me to leave her group. That was terrible. I counted seconds to finish that tour as soon as possible.
