Parkshore Renaissance Nursing Home Review

I found the staff to be friendly and the rooms clean.

IL Department of Public Health told me they
-Failed to notify family of injuries, ailed to ensure that necessary services were provided,
-failed to follow policy/procedure and provide prescribed medication at discharge, failed to ensure that medication was re-ordered/dispensed,
-failed to ensure that Activities of Daily Living Care was provided,
- failed to ensure that sufficient nursing staff are available to meet direct care needs

Had to give this place a star just to post my review. Recently had my mother-in-law moved to this place for a 3 week rehab stay. The day she was brought in, My wife & I went to visit. Upon getting past the main lobby entrance, you could smell nothing but piss and all other putrid odors. Get off the elevator, round the corner to go to her room, there was a big puddle of piss right outside her door. Staff looking around (sitting actually) no one attempting to mop it up. Got my mother-in-law out of there the same day. This place used to be much cleaner when my friends used to work there. Absolutely terrible now.

My grandfather is currently a resident Parkshore. The nurses and rude and the place is disgusting. The staff is not at at welcoming nor professional. If you are trying to place your loved one in a home , it would be nice to enroll them in any place but here. If I could upload pictures to prove this horrid environment I would.

I wouldn't recommend any human being to this place it saddens me to see people being treated in such a matter. The rooms are unsanitary, the staff memebers are rude and they left my auntie literally sitting for hours without changing her, ignored her when she ringed for them to come assist her. I am really appalled how they are treating people in this place something needs to be done. I'm definitely making a report immediately.

Employees are Abusive of their authority. Very Unprofessional

If I can give no stars I would , this place is FILTHY and ghetto to say the least ,I heard of some nasty nursing homes but I actually witnessed this horrific ordeal, I saw bedbugs, massive amount of roaches literally crawling on the dining room tables during mealtimes and mice running around, some lying dead on the floor with house keeping /maintenance not wanting to deal with the issue, rooms were very unclean on a daily basis, managers were rude and unprofessional, management pretends to be nice so they can fill a shift but in reality they just wanna sit in the office and eat all day making up rules which are not in compliance with state regulations, some managers did nothing but walk around and stay on the phone all day while patients suffered and received improper care, I wouldn't even recommend this place for the deceased!

Would give NO STARS but wasn't available. Deplorable conditions. Nasty, facility & staff. Family member was assaulted by staff over a cigarette. ALL staff are very unprofessional & RUDE. No one knows a thing. When calling, you get transferred a million times & staff was chewing while on the phone. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!

My Sister put My Mother in there and told the family she was in Vegas. We only found out she was there from the Coroners Office. After 5 days of being in there she was dead from Meningitis that she didnt have when she went in there. PLEASE DONT PUT YOUR PEOPLE THERE. Also the CFD Paramedics Charted that the Facility did not perform CPR before they arrived they just let her lay there unresponsive until the Paramedics arrived to do the CPR when by Law all Medical Care Givers are to be licensed to perform CPR but they didnt do it.

if i could give them less than a star i would. i was told how the facility was just redone and i'd have nothing to worry about. when i got there it was horrible. i had no way to contact my family, i was made to lay in my own fecal matter for hours there was no way for me to contact the nurse so i had to scream for help. i repeatedly asked to be sent to the hospital they gave me meds that weren't mine. when i finally got sent to the hospital i was found to have a very serious infection. besides the lack luster unprofessional attitude of the staff there was no order there and the way the staff openly swore at the residents was horrid.

This place have the most incompetent staff ever. I do not see how this nursing facility is still open. The needs of the patient are never met. The staff pay more attention to there phones than the patients.

I was a patient here and if had a horrible experience! This facility doesn't comply with state regulations on sanitation and smells horrible and had the elevators broken most of the yr I lived there. My son felt uncomfortable visiting me bc of how the residents run wild. The staff allowed 2 men to assault me. There are psych patients here mixed with elderly and sick ppl that are vonerable. The facility couldn't or wouldn't provide for my nutritional needs, alot of the staff were rachet and rude. The entire time I lived here I was robbed for so many things and when I expressed concern it was ignored. The administrator doesn't acknowledge patient concerns like she should. When my car keys were stolen, it was handled as if it was a joke even tho they knew who did it. For months they just expected me to cough up $300 for new keys and when I went to the hospital I come back and a bunch of stuff is missing. When I first got here I never got a orientation or inventory. I wasn't told anything so they tried to stomp over my rights. Even tho they had my medical records they still neglected my medical needs and I became sicker than before I came here. The food is bad and they don't do what they say they are going to EVER so nothing gets done. If u want to live don't come here.
