Against the rainbow colors of Little India sits this rather sever hotel. Out of place like a black and white photo in a full color brochure. On the positive side, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The biggest benefit is that the hotel is literally a 3 minute walk from the MRT/subway.
On the down side, the hotel is decorated in black white and suicide gray. Utterly depressing. I had urinal flies, mosquitos, and some tiny gnat like things buzzing around my room periodically. When I got up late at night to use the restroom and accidentally stepped on a cockroach, I brought it down to the front desk. They upgraded my room free of charge for one night, but offered no other compensation for my discomfort and intolerable lodging conditions.
The room I was upgraded to had a padlocked window that could not be opened overlooking the street. (fire code violation?) I was woken up at 5:30 am by the diesel rumble of the first of many delivery delivery trucks to arrive and stock the market stores. Followed by the slam of the roll door, the steady clap, clap, clap of boxes being loaded on to a rickety cart and then the creak of the carts wheels as it was pushed to its destination. The noise of the market continued well past 11:00 pm where I got to experience some domestic dispute out in the street beneath my window as if it were in my room. I can't in good conscience recommend this hotel.
