First of all the show was great. We were here to watch Southern Momma and Cledus. We were in the balcony section and something that we were very disappointed about was how the staff seemed to have no problem when a row of very rude ladies would continue to stand blocking everyone 3 and 4 rows behind them. Even after we asked them to sit and also asked the employees to do something. The ladies serving popcorn and drinks were beyond rude. I came out toward end of show and instead of trying to fight back through the very very tight seating I was waiting for the show to end because we were doing the meet and greet. All the employees were sitting in all the seats around the lobby so I was going to sit on stairs until it ended because my friend was still at our seats. Only about 10 mins left of the show. I was told I couldn't block the stairs. That was fine, so I asked if I could sit in one if the many seat around the bathroom entrance but was told no because the staff was sitting there. Due to medical problems standing for more than a cple mins at a time isn't possible. So I basically had to go back to the bathroom and sit and wait. I thought that was pretty rude considering there was a seat open. Just wasnt a very pleasant experience.
This is a beautiful old theater. This place is one of the hallmarks of what makes Ashland such a great place to live! Definitely show up for the festival of trees!
My mom and I went to see the Festival of Trees over the weekend. We had a really good time and it put us in the Christmas spirit looking at all the Christmas trees. It was our first time going to this event. There were alot of people visiting of all ages, taking pictures and enjoying themselves. We'd go back again next year for sure.
Was there for a concert, Ashley Huffer. Beautiful place. Employees were great.
A classy old performing arts venue! ...Great place, great acoustics for live music.
My 1st time at the Paramount Arts Center was a blast!! We had a great experience with Will call & all the other staff!!
Great place! Saw Josh Turner in Concert! Will be going to more Concerts there.
Beautiful building, seats are little small for an over six foot big guy, but not bad. Great venue.
Here to see Emmylou Harris in concert and it was my first visit to this wonderful theater. Sound was excellent and the seats were fine on the floor. My friends in the balcony also said seating and sound was good. Plenty of free parking on the street and in nearby lots. I'm 2 hours north of Ashland, but will definitely return when another show comes to town
Another fantastic performance at the Paramount Arts Center tonigh! The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Celtic Woman (Chloe Agnew), Irish Tenor (Dermot Kiernan) and Riverdance Alum (Scott Porter).
It is a great place to watch a play or even act in one!
The Paramount deserves 5 stars because it is a beautiful place to volunteer for the people of the paramount.
Nostalgic theater that offers a wide variety of entertainment throughout the year. Limited parking but free.
My wife and I have enjoyed this theatre. The acoustics for music is great. There is something to be entertained by every year. The staff are professional and service is top notch.
A step back in time to the days of "movie palaces" and Vaudville. You could perform anything there and it would be a wonderful experience.
Board member acted awful . Needed a pole and she would have been all set. Will not be back
Lovely restored PARAMOUNT THEATER. Wonderful piece of history for our children to enjoy.
I've gone here for many years for many different occasions. I went all through elementary for school events to watch plays and see movies. In my adult years I've gone many times to watch movies and see events or plays. It's one of the better parts centers I've been to.
the show I attended didn't take place at the theater, but it was presented by the theater on the river's edge. a friend and I traveled from Charleston to Ashland to catch a concert by the band, Thunderstruck.
Thunderstruck is an ACDC tribute band and if you're given the chance, you should definitely check them out. they played all of the staples, plus a couple deep cuts that I doubt ACDC themselves play anymore. they invited a young fan onstage with them to help sing a song and was very good at getting the crowd involved in the show. and their drummer, Jerry, turned out to be a local Ashlander, and it was awesome to witness the support he and the band got throughout the night.
the band's singer made a speech about how important it is to support local and live entertainment and I totally agree. i hope the town of Ashland promotes more shows like this in the future because I will always make the trip. it's high time that the venues in the Kentucky and West Virginia areas notice that there are a lot of hard rock and heavy metal fans who are ready and waiting for chances to have a good time and show their love of live music.
to the band and whomever ever else made this show possible, thank you so much and keep em' coming!
You just can't beat going to those old theaters. Had a wonderful time plus some good conversations.
Seen Bret Michaels, had an amazing time. I respect the fact that they don't serve alcohol which makes it family friendly! Looking forward to going to more shows.
The Paramount has been in Ashland since 1931 and the interior while being up to date for today's needs, still contains some of the most beautiful, intricate architecture, molding and murals that can draw you back to the days of long ago. The seating is good all the way around unless you get someone taller in front of you. It brings many different shows, both Broadway, well known bands and more to our area. Schools have since back in the 70's taken class field trips here. You should definitely check it out if for no other reason than the historical beauty.
Have been there for many concerts and of course the Christmas Tree festival. Always very courteous, friendly guides. Not as bad seat in the house. Going Dec 4th to see Micheal Bolton! Can't wait. Worth the drive.
Not enough of black entertainment or gospel groups for blacks I don't mind country music but we have more of that than anything about time to a variety sometime
Saw Old Crow Medicine Show last week. Great show. Wonderful venue
Historic 1930's theater modified somewhat for live performances. Lots of free parking. In the downtown area. They still show movies as well.
It's a good family place to go watch a concert and during the Christmas season they have awesome trees display as well as a train display it's a must to see during the Christmas season as well.
Deana Carter was great. We had really good seats. Really enjoyed the show.
I have been to almost every Paramount Players production over the past 3 years. I love coming and the shows are amazing, but the sound is absolutely horrendous. Every show, without fail, has sound issues. Mics cutting out, popping, cracking. I have a family member who is in shows and had a lead role a couple months ago. She was so excited to finally get a lead, but was extremely discouraged and told us she almost cried backstage when none of her lines could be heard clearly. It s also very disappointing for us as family member. We re so excited and so proud of our little actress, but our experience leaves us frustrated. Please, please, please, on behalf of everyone paying for these shows, dedicating tons of time for dropping off and picking up kids from rehearsals, and everyone donating to these shows for our kids, invest in some sort of new mics or a new sound system.
First time there. Saw Gordon Lightfoot. The building was really nice, very nostalgic. Our seats were great. The employees were fantastic. The show was wonderful.
Lighting could have been better, especially in the isles.
The trees and trains exhibit is well worth the trip!
Went to see RODNEY CARRINGTON,
The show was perfect. The paramount was nice clean ushers were every where to help people find their seats. Very friendly well managed places . Throughly enjoyed ourselves.
Has a very historic feel when you walk in and it's always filled with some sort of event going on.
Friendly staff and such a beautiful building!! Love the festival of trees and trains!
Catch a show here when you can and enjoy the Art Deco styling.
So pretty. Nice to see the various stuff they have going on.
The Paramount is a beautiful old movie theater that is now used for stage performances. And for a small venue they book some very good performers. Recently attended a David Phelps Christmas concert. It was very good.
Having a wonderful time watching Aubrie Skaggs dance with the Russian Ballet.
This place i my home away from. I get to perform in this beautiful historic theatre. The Paramount Players are a huge part of my life and the staff is incredible!
Very helpful and nice staff. The place is beautiful inside.
My granddaughters RN pinning was displayed and presented amazingly!!
I have been going to the Paramount Arts Center since I was young, mostly for school trips, but this time with my best friend to see the trees up for auction. Yes, this is a late review. I loved it! I ended up having to sit for most of the visit, because I had just gotten over a cold and was still a bit weak. But that allowed me to sit back and really appreciate the looks of delight on people's faces and the decorations as a whole.
I was there for a Christian event. The people are very kind. Prices are expensive inside for there refreshments.
This venue brought back so many memories. I use to live in Ashland. We visited for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the Christmas Tree competition from local schools. I used to go to the movies there over 45 years ago. I was able to be an usher for Count Basie. Enjoyed several plays. Although all of these activities were so many years ago I can still feel the memories in the ambiance that is there. I would love to go back.
We loved Little Shop of Horrors! Cierra James and Taylor Isaac were two of our favorite actors. Good job everyone!
Great historical theater. Seat room is tight. But really great place to see a live show.
Many many shows always going on. Different genres of music. Always something new happening here. Pretty they have wine tastings here also. Can't beat that.
Beautiful had a great time with friends and family loved it!! Happy Holidays
Comfortable, nicely kept theatre. So nice to see an old theatre still open.
Grew up going to the paramount!!! And will continue too for as long as I can!
Would rate higher but poor concession and very small seats
My Husband took me to the Southern Mama and Cledus T Judd concert. Paramount was a great place to have a concert. It was a very clean place. The concert was great.
