My family has been going here for generations and I am so excited that my children will grow up going here every summer. I am trying to get a site for 2 whole months next summer because we love it so much! There are plenty of planned activities and the store has everything you would ever need. The kids ask all day long to go on the carousel and the hay ride. We did the kayak trip last year and now that the kids are bigger I look forward to the hike that is offered. There is such a variety of sites offered the sites are huge! The pool is clean and the kids love the game room on rainy days. This is a true family campground with packs of kids riding bikes and having a blast! The only improvement I can think of would be to add a pedestrian bridge to get across the main road, or have a blinking caution light. I have excellent childhood memories at Papoose Pond and I know my kids will have the same!!

An amazing place. We are currently enjoying an Escape Weekend. The campground is clean and beautiful. Our cabin is brand new and we'll equipped. The meals are great too. We've been coming here for about 28 years. I highly recommend it!

All inclusive weekend to bad they booked us on the wrong site when I booked a year ago and got blown off by the owner because he doesn't care. His loss of 12 people never returning here again and will make sure to pass along our experience to as many as possible!

I have been Camping at papoose Pond for more than 10 years. The campground and pond are great. We camp with a large group and we are comfortable enough to let the kids roam fairly freely.
Have had a few times at night where we had to be told to quiet down. Some instances handled better than others by security.
All in all a great Family Campground.

This was our first time here. It was a nice clean campground with lots of daily activities. The cafe food was great - we had burgers, fries, fried dough, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and ice cream throughout our stay. Our site was a little tight to get into but other campers were very helpful in directing. There are lots of different gathering spots with different things going on at each of them all day - and they are all spread throughout the campground, not in one spot. All of the staff we encountered were really friendly and helpful.

My family and I had been going to Papoose Pond for 26 years. My sister and I adopted dogs and needed to get a separate cabin since my parents cabin wasn't "pet friendly." After 26 years, I was kicked out of Papoose Pond because my dog was barking. As previously mentioned, we were at a pet friendly site, the "incident" happened at 10am which is not during quiet hours, and the dog was inside. When I was spoken to, my family immediately went to get the dog. I was spoken to one time during our stay and no other "incidents" occurred. I received a letter in the mail months later being informed that I was no longer welcome. Pet owning customers beware.

Great place for a getaway. Stayed in one of the Hutnick facilities and it was more than I had imagined. Electricity and an escape from the bugs was a plus. Short walking distance to bathroom and other facility needs!

We are going back for year two this July!

My favorote campground! I started camping there over 30 years ago, and are thrilled to be bringing my husband and son there! Lots of a tivities for the kids. Both a pond and a pool for swimming, with various boat rentals available. Lots of sites available for tents, campers, RVs, as well as a variety of little cabins amd cottages to rent. Staff is hard-working and friendly. They do a wonderful job! We went this year, and will continue to go back every year!

I went there 3 years ago and loved it, I've been back every year since. Next year I will be bringing my friends next year to enjoy the camp as well. It's an amazing place, and I really do enjoy it there. There is movies, games, arts and crafts, the lake, a pool, and two arcades; I love all those things and it makes it all the more fun.

Great place for families. Has cabins, RV and tent sites. Lots of thing to do day and evening. I just wish there was more space and privacy between the sites. We were by cabins with lots of people, and we'd be trying to sleep, but felt like they were right outside our tent talking well past quiet hour. Restrooms were okay. Wish had a few more showers.

Great campground for families. Daily activities are a nice addition but most kids just like to ride their bikes. Mini Golf is in terrible shape and very tough. Most kids will be frustrated by it.

Only real issue was how late quite hours started. Not good for families with younger kids.

Where should I start? Not pet friendly AT ALL? Filthy cabins? Leaches in the pond? Unhelpful and Rude staff?

My family came to this campground and purchased two cabins for a full week! One by the pond and one pet friendly across the road. I called days before my arrival to confirm my dog friendly cabin and where my dog was allowed and not allowed. The woman on the phone was very nice and explained that I need my dog's rabies information and that dogs were not allowed on the beach nor inside the not pet friendly cabins. We were very excited to find a place where our whole family could camp comfortably with our very well behaved Golden Retriever.

Once we were all set up We walked over to our families campsite. We tied the pup up on a 20ft leash and started to cook on the grill and have a fire. Not only was my 5 month old Golden already well behaved but he was sleeping under the picnic table. We were told that we had to go back to our dog friendly cabin as the dog was not allowed at this site. I was very confused because the dog was not inside the cabin or the pond. I did not want to argue and it was getting late so we retired back to our cabin alone. The rest of our family were unable to fit over at our site as it was much smaller.

This cabin was disgusting! It was dirty and smelt like pee. I kid you not, we slept in our car that night and planned on talking to the staff in the morning. That morning we walked back over to our families site to help clean up from their breakfast and head over to spend more money at the arcade with the kids. A very angry man on a golf cart flew over to the site and immediately started raising his voice, shouting we do not know how to listen and we have been spoken to three times about not having our dog at this site. First, I was baffled how this man was speaking to us. Second, am i not allowed to walk my dog? The man said he wanted us to leave the site right now and if we dont like it we could leave. Now mind you, we were collecting out family members and going for a morning walk down to the cafe/arcade area. I began to ask the man how we were suppose to have a family vacation when we are not allowed to take our dog away from our site and we cant leave him at the site unattended?

All I wanted to do was stay at a campsite with my family and dog and enjoy relaxing outside. Although this campground states they're dog friendly, we did not feel welcome at all. In fact, the staff was beyond rude. At check in, I was not given a map or shown where my dog was allowed and NOT allowed. All I was told (WHEN I CALLED DAYS PRIOR) was no dogs on the beach or in the cabins. Very poor communication on the staffs part.

Prior to my stay I did much research, as I do before any traveling. I read some poor dog related reviews about this campsite BUT decided to give it the benefit of the doubt because my family seemed to have fun coming here the last TWO years.

We will NEVER be coming here again! Did I forget to mention that my husband found a leach on his toe after spending 10 minutes calf deep in the pond? Oh and we confronted a staff member who told us it was nothing to worry about and that the pond was safe! Haha This place was disgusting and I didn't even mention the bathrooms.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS HELL-HOLE.

We love this campground. It is well run, and has lots of activities for everyone. There are crafts and events just about every night. Movies and performers all the time. There is a pond and a pool to swim in. One of our favorite things is find the key. Weekly there is a key hidden somewhere on the campground with clues posted every day to find it. If you do you unlock a treasure box in the store for a prize.

This place is fantastic! We spent a long weekend and just booked for a week next year at the same site tent site. The place is clean the sites are all level and the campground provides a wide variety of accommodations from tenting to multi family cottages. The little kitchen hut at our site was perfect. Lots of activities and just a fun place to be. Looking forward to next years trip already!

My wife and her family have been going to Papoose ...

My wife and her family have been going to Papoose since she was 10 years old. I joined them 7 years ago and we brought our dogs our last year and we re told they couldn t walk on certain streets of the campground. Many of their rules I find silly, like only being able to swim in nasty water on a trail off the campground, not allowed on the outside of other campers sites that are part of your camping group even while leashed and picked up after, restricted from majority of places activties were held. They followed all the rules but I still am bothered, two years later, that they weren t allowed on certain DIRT roads most of all. A campground is a place where you enjoy your family and friends but their ridiculous rules ruined our trip by not being able to spend much time with our group, all because we wanted our dogs to enjoy a vacation with us. We are done with this campground. They should NOT advertise themselves as dog friendly. We left our comments for management and never heard back.

We go here EVERY YEAR, and even with a deposit, they NEVER send a reminder email asking for the rest of the payment before cancelling the reservation. They expect the whole payment by January 5th, and if not, the deposit and the reservation are gone. This is NOT good business practice, as I would love to think my going there every year matters to them. Email is free! They can't be bothered to send a quick reminder? This is also not a good time of year for families to pay a bunch of money, right after the holidays, so that is also not family-friendly.

Having said that, we love going here. Feels like an escape. Kids love it and feel safe here. The pond is swimmable. The dock is great. The rentable boats are great. Last year they added paddle-boards. Yay for that! But, it is a LOT more expensive than regular campgrounds, and not good business practices... The office staff is also not that friendly. They should hire people who like people to man the desk. Seriously.

My extended family has been back in the summer for more then several years. Papoose Pond becomes a topic of family conversations somtime around the end of January....long before our week long stay. "I can't wait for Papoose Pond" is often heard. Check out their website. (it isn't a fancy place but it is a down to earth family place.

A great family campground with something for everyone = a pool, a large pond for swimming or canoeing, a little fishing hole with cool snapping turtles, playgrounds, activities, an antique carousel, and the most helpful staff. We loved it, and look forward to visiting again.
