My Aunt and her families have been coming here since the 70s, every year, the same week. So, YES, they love it. I tell stories at the campfire for all campers on Wednesday evenings, almost all Summer. It's just one of the many family oriented activities offered. Come on by and stay for a story.
We now have two favorite spots in Maine to go camping. Still relatively new to the camping scene, (2nd summer), but we have tried out almost a dozen various spots. This one is definitely one we will return to as well. Great family atmosphere with plenty to do for young kids and teens. Like many of the southern Maine spots, it has two arcades, heated pool, mini golf, nice little lake and beach area to relax in, a store with almost anything you'd need, a cafe, and evening entertainment with daily activities for the kids from morning until late afternoon. Kayaks and canoes are available to rent for a reasonable price and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. What makes this more unique than other campgrounds that offer this many options are the spacious sites. We don't feel like our neighbors are right on top of us and they are well shaded, level and clean. Additionally, if we were still tenting, they offer amazing covered shelters with water and electricity that make it so convenient. We were here for a week and loved every second of our stay. Can't wait to return!

An annual tradition for our family to come here each summer. It is the most fun for young kids but has a lot to offer teens too (as much as teens are interested in anything). My teenagers still look forward to coming and theyhave informed me that Papoose Pond will be a regular vacation stop when they have their own families. I haven't found a campground that comes close.
Decent activities for kids and family. Camping sites are extremly pricy, almost $80 for a site. Other camp grounds run about $40-45. Papoose does have Food available that is priced very well. My first and last visit. Sites way to pricy. I also stayed asked for a late checkout, and was charged $20 to stay from 11am to 3pm.
We had a very nice visit. The staff was nice, our cabin was clean and everything worked correctly. The pond was pleasant, and the Pulpit Rock hike was harder than we thought. It was interesting as you had to take your shoes off and cross the Crooked River. It is not a swift flowing river so was easy to cross and it felt good to cool off on the way back.We ate at the local diner, Melby's and the servings were large and delicious. The prices were great too. We would recommend Papoose Pond

Nice campground. Wish they had more dog -friendly stuff to do (ie, dog park or doggy swimming area). Hate that pups are perpetually stuck at the site, or in leash. Also makes it hard to take kids to pool, pond, or events unless you have a second adult to stay at the site.
Visited during the shoulder season, and the facilities looked excellent. Good family campground, more than enough for kids to do. Reasonably quiet and priced right.

This place is great!! Nice pond with many available activities. A pool if that's more your thing. That's all on the web site. The staff is friendly, helpful, and able to overcome unforeseen events. I saw it first hand , no specifics, but it was impressive.
Great campground! Large beach front. Clean facilities! Pond is beautiful! We went for Columbus Day weekend and the scenery was beautiful! Can't wait to go again in the summer time, seems to have a lot of activities for kids!
Absolutely love my September weekend at Papoose. The people here are amazing, the campground is safe and clean, with many, many accommodations to choose from! I can't wait to bring my kiddos here some day!
I have been going to Papoose Pond CG since 1975. Many of my happiest childhood memories took place there and my now my kids are building their own memories there.

Large campsite with good amenities in a nice, secluded locations. Bathrooms were clean and the pool was large, heated, and clean. They have boats to take out on the namesake pond. Plenty of family hikes nearby if lounging by the pool or pond isn't the only thing you want to do. Family friendly with lots of dirt roads for the kids to ride their bikes on and several playgrounds as well.
I was invited to join a group, camping here for weekend. While the renters were spending almost a hundred dollars on twenty five dollars worth of food from thier, ok, Cafe, I was approached by a campground worker who had an issue with one too many tents in our rented lot. I tried to explain that he was talking to the wrong person and he started shutting me down and talking to me like I was a disrespectful child!!! We had four very cute tents for four adults. All paid for. We had to remove a tent and two of us had to share one. Silly and ridiculous. Never will I camp there ever again. :(
Nice big campground. Everyone was very friendly that we dealt with.
We have a 37' travel trailer and we were able to move around the campground easily. They have lots of gates you can enter/exit from.
Used the rental boats which we a lot of fun.
Pool was open as was the self serve mini golf.
We had our dog with us and never felt like it was a problem as the only place they ask you not to bring them is the pool and beach (unless you are loading them in the rental boat).

Our family has been coming here for over 50 years. We love how the charm and family atmosphere stays perfectly preserved and now hosts the fourth generation of our family. Excellent place! Went camping there for the first time last year and I already have two trips reserved this year.
I have been camping at Papoose since I was a child. 23 years later, I am still camping there, with my family and extended family too. I love the HHK sites that have not only water and electricity, but a mini kitchen with shelves for storage, but a private showers and toilet too. Though a little pricey for camping, these sites are worth it, especially with a toddler in tow.
The beach/lake is beautiful, and kept clean. There are many activities for all ages from sports, to tye-dye, to movie night. And a rec hall, heated pool, and various sport courts to use. You can rent anything there too, for on the lake or sports equipment.
The sites you can stay on range from nothing but a patch of dirt to (as I mentioned above) the HHK's, cottages, tree house sites, (yes, I said tree house!) to RV sites and houses.
I wouldn't ever think of camping anywhere else.
I was hear as a kid and now have the chance to bring my kids. So much to do here at the. Campground and in and around the towns.
I've been coming here off and on my whole life. This year june was my 14th visit. Can't wait to get back again!!!

Great for all ages and families!! Clean, plenty of events, great choice of different types of sites. The old review about pond being "Dead" was obviously by someone who does not know how to fish. Great fishing, large Bass and Perch !!!
The grandsons loved the place. They liked the heated pool. The nighttime entertainment was good too. We brought our kids here some 30 years ago. It was great to be back.
Plenty of activities to keep the kids busy so the parents can relax. Clean rentals. Everything from large clean cabins to bunk houses. Even many of the tent sites have a kitchenette and bathroom

We love camping at Papoose Pond! Staff are friendly and it is a beautiful place to go. Granddaughter had fun catching tiny frogs, swimming, panning for gems, and watching the outdoor movie!
We just wrapped up our 10th consecutive year spending a week at Papoose Pond with a large group of friends. We love it here, and our kids would openly revolt if we didn't honor this tradition. There are plenty of activities for everyone - pool, pond, hikes, boat rentals, evening events (movies, entertainers, cafe specials). You can also relax around your campfire and read a book if that's more your speed. Having electricity and water right at your campsite is a huge plus. And the staff do a great job of keeping everything clean. Oh, and the antique carousel is a family favorite.
It's been a family tradition. Great for young families.

I stayed here for Memorial Weekend. Site was large. I made the reservations for here a month or so before coming with no problem. They offer a lot of activities for the kids. Will definitely come back.
We love it! There is lot's to do with the kids. They are super clean and the staff is friendly. We can not wait for our return August 2017

Family friendly camping. Theres lots of activities for the kids any day of the week, plenty of playgrounds, a nice sandy beach, horeshoes, boat rentals, you name it. Papoose has anything you could want from a family campground. There is a bunch of sites from Cabins, to cottages, to trailers, to tent sites. Everyone I've ever encountered here was very friendly. Looking forward to my next visit!
Spacious RV campsites. Lots of activities, heated pool, carousel and miniature golf. Friendly staff. Cabins of various sizes to accommodate every size of family. Wonderful vacation destination.
The family has been going annually for probably 15 or so years now. As I've left the state I went back for the first time in 5 years and it's exactly the same, I do enjoy some peace and quiet the campground has to offer though.
