The Papermill Playhouse is a gem, the actors are the same names you see on Broadway and all the productions are top notch. We became season ticket holders and have not regretted it. The seats could use an update as they are old and some are starting to sag a bit.

Great venue for plays. Better than Broadway in that shows are just as terrific, many include big Stars, tickets prices are less. Ez and inexpensive parking and best of all.. centrally located in NJ! Harry Connick Jr in The Sting was awesome. Downsides... theater needs Reno. Bathrooms are too scarce, seats uncomfortable and people that show up late are accommodated so they can mar your experience by being seated very late.

Due to Covid-19, the Paper Mill Playhouse cancelled all upcoming performances....I was notified via email of my cancelled performance and had the choice to get a refund for the purchase price or donate my tickets back to Paper Mill Playhouse. I chose a refund......Not only did it take 1 month to finally get in touch with someone to execute the refund, but I was told that I will NOT get back the service fee of $8 per ticket unless I want a gift card...only then I would get back the service fee.....The explanation as to why I wasn't going to get back the service fee from Derek (Paper Mill rep) was 'we don't get the service fee back, so therefore you don't get it back'.....But, I purchased the tickets directly from the Paper Mill Box office....What do you mean you don't get the service fee back......you have the service fee!!! I didn't cancel the performance.....YOU DID!!! For this reason alone, I will NEVER patronize the Paper Mill Playhouse as there are so many other theaters that would not be so desperate to take your money!! Spread the word and maybe condo's will be taking the place of this property in the coming years!!!

We saw "Annie" with our son and 5 year granddaughter for her birthday. We had 6 people in total and everyone loved it. The show was great. My granddaughter had a blast. Definitely would return to see other shows perhaps during the warmer season.

All seats views are good...many are great. Paper Mill offers head phones for hearing impaired. I rely on them at each performance. ..very easy to obtain. Go to special services window at box office (far right window). Leave your ID with them and receive back when returned at end of show.

Paper Mill Playhouse puts out some high quality productions. Theatre is always comfortable and clean. Cocktails are delicious and well priced.
**I would definitely add this caveat however, and this is the reason for one star off:

The lighting during some productions can be very strobe heavy and can point directly into the audience at a very painful level of intensity. I could see this being problematic to anyone who is light sensitive.

The Paper Mill is a New Jersey gem. It was deserving of the Tony Award it won for best regional theater. The plays are every bit as good as Broadway (and I attend about 100 plays each year) from the acting to the sets to the costumes. Indeed, several plays have wound up on Broadway in recent years. The theater is best-suited for musicals because of its size and configuration. There is parking for a fee. The restaurant is very, very good. I have celebrated several important occasions there.

Saw a show... Very nice time... Very happy with one exception... At auditorium door very pleasant woman said right through this door & an usher will seat you.. I entered & walked over to Idle usher he did not approach me.. handed him our tickets.. he looked at them looked up into the seats and said yeah up there about five rows in the middle's the numbers are on the seats and pointed... I did mention I've been to the theater before usually the usher brings you to the seat or at least to the row... That I didn't care for... Other than that I must say everything else was as good or better than I expected

A wonderful place to see great shows, without the woes of going into the city. We have done both, Paper Mill Playhouse is our place to go. Lots to do and see before and after the shows. All within walking distance.

Papermill is a great night out. I have had a subscription with my parents since I was 10. Some plays have been lack luster, but more often than not, they're very well done with great casts and sets.

The customer service is very poor. I saw The Bodyguard on Christmas Eve. The show was subpar; Deborah Cox was the headliner and she didn't show. Her understudy did not do justice to the late Whitney Houston. I called the box office which was no help me and left Doug, the manager, a message and my call was not returned and it's been two weeks. Deborah Cox had what 20-25 shows and missed Christmas Eve, I'm certain that wouldn't have happened if it was Broadway. We're extremely disappointed with the performance and customer service.

Great venue for plays. My second visit. I previously saw a production of The Bodyguard. My latest visit was for Annie. It was very good. I really enjoyed the talents of the young actors.

I really love the Theater!
