Love this shop and the guys here. Beyond knowledgeable, great with my nephews, and always .. always patient with the many back and forths on which packs to buy. I would and I always do recommend Paper Heros.

Friendly staff, nice little store. Selection of comics is good, but the strong point of this store is the large amount of collectible card and tabletop games. If games are your thing, check this place out.

Not sure why I'm seeing reviews about this place being overpriced - when it comes to Magic they might be UNDERPRICED. Preorders for Kaldheim set boxes are $90, which is insane considering the lowest you can find them online is $105 + shipping. They have a good stock of singles too - from dual lands to standard staples. Customer service is great - Kirk and Nick are laid back and know their stuff. The interior is rather spacious and easy on the eyes. Definitely recommend stopping by!

If you re a woman, do NOT go to this store. I m a collector who strictly buys collectibles in person and never online because I want to support small businesses, but the treatment I received was unacceptable. There is a misogynistic employee on staff who would not stop talking to me as if I was a child who had never seen a comic book before in my life. I have never experienced an employee talk to me condescendingly the moment I walked through the door. I could not even browse in silence because this man was REPEATEDLY explaining to me how comic books work (his words exactly) despite me telling him that I knew. Even asking how much the cards that were on display cost was led him to explaining to me that cards can range from fifty cents to thousands of dollars as if I wasn t aware that cards all have different values. plus I highly doubt that the cards worth over $1k would be right next to worthless cards and not in protective card sleeves.
I have traveled across the country and overseas to visit as many hobby shops as I can and coming here was the worst experience I ve ever had.
I have never written a one-star review before and I don t even want to write this one because I don t want small businesses to be hurt but I was treated and talked to like I was a 5 year old because the staff assumed because I was a woman I didn t know anything. And that is absolutely unacceptable.
I have been collecting for years and being treated like this is incredibly insulting as I ve poured my entire life into my hobby.
Gatekeeping has no place in 2021 and this employee is an embarrassment and a disgrace to anyone who is passionate about collecting.

One the best book stores in town and a longtime SF icon. If you're not familiar with this place I suggest you look it up immediately. The store itself is very cozy and has an EXCELLENT atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a good book and/or poem. The building radiates character like no other and the fact they have late hours is testament to their dedication for both books and bookies. Even if you have no clue what this place is about or who/what happened there you should still stop by and check this place out for their selection!
