I really enjoyed driving through the city stopping off at certain places. Oh of course being in a nice weather environment the landscaping is beautiful. There are rustic buildings, buildings that are sculpted in the side of mountains. Just definitely a must see. To be someplace where it's busy but not too busy to enjoy the beauty that is surrounding you.
One of the best places to visit in the world. View from here is breath taking. Just make sure that you come here when sun is bright or else you wont be able to see whole statue. Ticket prices are 10usd on weekdays and 15usd on weekends. You can spend upto 30-45mins here.
Very nice place. If you have to park down the road, here is a trick: drop your family at the end of the road, close to the Corcovado. Bring your car down the road and find a place to park. Then ask to a moto driver to bring you up to the Corcovado. He will ask you 100 R$ for the moto lift to go up and back to your car. Pay him. Join your family thanks to the moto driver. Do your visit. When done, find your moto driver. He will bring you back to your car down the road (this is included in the R$100). Go up again to pick-up your family with you car. Then go back home. This strategy will allow you to save a lot of time !
Nice spot to have snacks, beer or coffee before or after to come down from visiting Cristo Redentor. Good views of beaches from up above. Enjoyed beer and sausage pao sandwich.
Ok given that's its a feeder station to the christ redeemer statue ( a must visit in Rio) the souvenir shop is well stocked but a tad expensive. Cafe has a great view though.
I spent my 30th birthday IN Brazil and had to undertake the pilgrimage (thank God by tourist shuttle) up the Corcovado region to experience the magnificence that is the christ the redeemer statue that overlooks most of Rio...
It's a towering figure of colonialism, though magnificent it is a constant reminder of the sin that indegenous people carry... That we are all taught can only be redeemed by christ at the expense of our heritage and so these symbols should be claimed back if they are to remain.
It gets really packed with everyone attempting to snap a "cool" Pic with them featuring the monument... And of course why else do we do this again? There are also beautiful views which are made more beautiful by the precarious cloud conditions that sometimes engulfs the entire statue... And then recedes, kinda creepy but also exciting
Not to be missed. If you do nothing else touristy while visiting Rio, you should see these views. Breathtaking.
Very organized & easy to navigate. Everyone was polite & customer oriented. Extremely friendly & many spoke English. The options for food & drink are just enough and the view is AMAZING.
