Had a very good experience here with my kid. The food was served quick and the service is just great. Prices are fair.
Had a very good experience here with my kid. The food was served quick and the service is just great. Prices are fair.
Great food and service. It is expensive, but delicious and very enjoyable.
Fried fish sandwich was decent with a little bit of a burnt oily aftertaste though. Fries were nice and crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Clam chowder was a generous portion and didn't taste like it came from a can. Drink selection was very good though and location is great in the middle of theatre district!
Excellent service attention to detail! Food was prepared beautifully and it was very delicious!
Nice atmosphere but pricey and surprisingly bland food that was not quite worth it.
Our first visit to Ostra, with some friends, was amazing! The appetizers were great - the grilled Spanish Octopus is probably the best I've ever had. The main dishes were awesome. One of the couples had the salt crusted branzino, my wife had the Paella Valenciana Style and I had the Grilled Silk Snapper, as I said - ALL amazing. And to top it all off, the service was impeccable. Worth going again, many times!
Love this place. Perhaps best seafood place in Boston
Really good but still expensive it must be recognized.
This is a high end seafood restaurant. Went here for a wonderful dinner. Prices are high but justified for the quality of service and food. Best to make reservations for this restaurant as it appears it is needed. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend this place for a special occasion or fancy date nite. Well worth it.
Part of the restaurant group that includes Mistral, Moo and others. This is the elegant seafood restaurant in Boston. Everything is done at a superior level.
We dined at Ostra for the first time and were delighted by the food and service. The grilled octopus was the most tender and flavorful I have had outside of Italy. For our entrees we had lobster, paella and a pasta (I forget which) and all were outstanding. We drank a very nice Brunello from Ostra's wine list. We were fortunate to have Brenda as our server and she did an excellent job. There are two areas in which I think Ostra can improve. The umpa-umpa-umpa-umpa music doesn't add to the atmosphere. Better music would improve the ambiance. Also, the wine list needs better resentation in the $75-$100 range. Still, overall, Ostra is an excellent dinner option in Boston and I would not hesitate to go there again
The BEST restaurant in Boston, hands down. Incredible food, great restaurant, probably the best meal I have ever had. 100000% recommended.
Excellent service from all staff. The paella is amazing, but the octopus first course was the star. Slightly lackluster dessert options, but the torte was great.
I'm not a wealthy guy, that said the food was extrodary. The service on point. I'm a big fan. Wish I could go more.
Very upscale, delicious food good wine and knowledgeable wait staff. Someone in our party was gluten free and they kept mentioning that, so they would remove bread from an appetizer course--I was just a little surprised they didn't have gluten free substitutions for that type of thing, instead of just subtracting. Other than that, it was great.
Absolutely wonderful caring staff. I called to ask how I could cover my daughter and son in laws meal - they were going to their favorite restaurant to celebrate so many wonderful events that have happened in their lives in the last few months. I wanted it to be a special experience and the manager was wonderful. They sent me a form to fill out with my credit authorization - but WOW it went far beyond that. I was asked if I wanted a note and I wrote one on the computer. I was called the next day and he asked if I wanted them to tell my kids or write a note and when it should be presented as it seemed I wanted them to have whatever they wanted. I asked if they could be given a note at the beginning. My daughter took a picture of the note it was beautifully written and thoughtfully presented. My children wanted them to not bill me for the caviar but the waiter checked with the manager with whom I had spoken and he sent back word that I had said they should enjoy the splurge and defiantly i wanted to pay for it. SO WELL DONE AND SO THOUGHTFUL!! I can only say that the meal was beyond exceptional and they felt like they were the most important and cared for guests!
Thank you all for going above and beyond I can not wait till we can all enjoy dining with you!
Excellent seafood, service, and location. Stark modern interior lends sophistication and elegance.
Oysters, skate, black bass, octopus, lobster all done well.
Expensive. Very.
Review written during the COVID 19 pandemic. Not very good food. The sea bream (fish) was not flavorfull at all. Perfectly cooked but lacked taste and smelled fishy, so was not fresh. The monkfish was alright. You expect more from a place that has $45 entrees. Drinks were good. Not a happy dining experience.
Delicious. First time trying fried oysters. Loved it. Received a cute birthday dessert as well. Service was A-1. More upscale but still comfortable. Will definitely come back
Dinner here is a religious experience. The escargot risotto is probably one of the beat things I've eaten in my entire life.
Went there with my colleagues for a work dinner and had a great time. The oysters were fantastic and there was a solid wine list as well so was great for a work event. That being said, I rated it a 4 rather than 5 star as if was going there on my own and not for work, the prices would have been a little more than I would have liked.
Absolutely incredible experience. The staff was more than welcoming and made sure everything was perfect. Food and drink both exceeded expectation and the driver we had was a stand up guy and very professional. Chef Randall and the ostra crew will make sure you're taken care of.
Really, really amazing food. The seabass ceviche topped with white truffles is to die for...
Awesome place. Great food, drinks and service. This dessert is absolutely fantastic!!
Great seafood and classy service. Try the monkfish!
Bread and sea bass tartar were amazing. Sea bream entree was disappointing. Although cooked well, there was no flavor. Was expecting a sauce or something to elevate the dish but it was simply a grilled fish with no seasoning on the inside. Dessert was below average. Expected better. Very loud as others have noted.
Wonderful experience. Great food, amazing service and very clean and safe in this crazy world. Try the sea bass, the lobster, the octopus and the paella. Again please go in person.
The food was pretty fresh and very well presented. The options weren't expansive but that's the price you pay for more local food. My one complaint is the food service was not timed well. The service to get our first course or even drinks were long. When the oysters came out first, they we're shucked poorly so that we had to remove shards of shell from each slurp.
Not impressed. Calamari was overdone. Mooo is far better. The waiter was great though.
Fantastic and fresh seafood, thoughtful presentation, and lively atmosphere even on a Monday
Exdwption seafood and service is good as well, the bar is also super and the entire restaurant has a real nice vibe to it
The food is excellent, the service very attentive.
The best restaurant in Boston
Great food. Excellent service! We went on a Wednesday night in April. The service was excellent and very helpful to suggestions and questions regarding the menu. The paella was excellent and the grilled squid was the best I have ever had. If you are in Boston, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.
Probably the best restaurant in Boston. Excellent place, food, service everything amazing
Best oysters I've ever had. Wonderful experience. Worth the expensive price tag.
Exquisite Drinks, good sea food
Ostra is a cool upscale restaurant. We really liked the drinks - try the Metronome e.g. The Wellfleet oysters were exquisite, the Hamachi Crudo with extreme vinegar but interesting, octopus appetizer very good, lobster great but way too much and on the very expensive side, with two extra sauces - just too much of everything... We still give 5 points.
Amazing in every way. The salt crusted Branzino is the best ever!!!!
Great seafood! I had Scallops as an appetizer and Seafood paella for dinner. Excellent
I have been going since they open, and it has to be the best seafood place in Boston. Beautiful restaurant.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Boston, and arguably the best place for fresh seafood. We've tried everything from their coastal soup and pasta appetizers to their fresh-fish entrees. Great quality and great service.
Gnocchi was divine, best I've ever had. Everything else was downhill from there unfortunately.
Staff, food and ambiance was on point! Sampled several apps and had the paella. I definitely reccomend this restaurant.
Heavenly seafood, distinct, different and creative. Sky high prices.
First-rate seafood accompanied by excellent service. One of Boston's premier restaurants.
Great meal!! For my first course I had the feticini with mushrooms and my entry was the braised short ribs. Both were amazing! I had the chocolate torte for desert which was also good. I travel to Boston on business Scott once a month and this is best meal I've had to date. Also try the truffle fries!
This is our go-to spot for special occasions in the city, as we have had graduations, birthdays, and valentines days here for the spectacular food, large wine selection, modern but elegant environment, and great service.
By far one of the best meals I've ever had. The bread was phenomenal and my appetizer was to die for. I had the smoked salmon tar tar. My pallela was so good I thought I died and had gone to heaven.
That appetizer tho was so good I made myself sad thinking about how I'll probably never have it again as i don't live in Boston.
Also the decor was so cool. I loved it.
The best meal I've ever had. I got Monkfish with mushrooms in a cream sauce and salmon tartare. Was very pricey but very worth it. Great service, beautiful interior, and a nice location in Boston.
Amazing food, great service! Highly recommend the sea bass tartare and grilled sea bream.
Easily one of the best meals i have had in ages. The caviar an accompaniments were superb. The oysters were remarkable, even given being in Boston. The cooked dishes were finished to perfection. Presentation was excellent. Staff was attentive though not intruding. Overall a perfect fine dining experience. I will return.
Despite an amazing first experience a month ago, this time the Paella was dry as a bone and nothing like the last.
Incredible time at Ostra! Their octopus and lobster ravioli are amazing. Great ambiance, great food, great service.
Top notch service. Even in the lounge area, the waitstaff always reset the place setting in between dishes. Appetizers were split without us asking. The oysters tasted very clean and fresh. Sea bass tartare with truffle was good. I don't know if the pairing of the two added anything, but the ingredients individually were already quite luxurious. Minimal and elevated spot with great seafood.
Great service and good food. A bit pricy was the only negative.
We started out with a flight of oysters and they were refreshing and delicious. Absolutely fresh. Next we got the tartare and the presentation was out of this world with the smoke effect. Next I had for my entree the sea bream. One word- WOW. It was light, but savory. Flavorful, but not overpowering at all.
You just can't go wrong with this lively restaurant, the service, the food, the best!
Always amazing food, always outstanding service. Our favorite place!
Excellent Seafood restaurant !!
The fish with salt delicious !!
Excellent thank you Niely the Bar tender she was very good server
The first courses were all amazing... Highly recommend the tuna tartare, gnochetti, crab risotto, grilled octopus and you should try the dessert egg once.
Only miss was the paella...was just average; seafood ends up overcooked and there was one shisito pepper that was undercooked and the artichokes were chewy. Lots of saffron flavor but no crispy/toasted rice layer at the bottom that a good paella should have...
My recommendation is Ricotta Gnocchetti which is Maine Lobster, Beech Mushrooms and Shaved Black Truffle. That was amazing.
I think seafood is better than Mignon.
Disappointing. Paella was overcooked as was the calamari appetizer. Salmon was good. Dessert was delicious. Staff somewhat frenetic. 3 1/2
Great service, atmosphere and food. The monkfish was awesome but the highlight was the octopus
A lovely restaurant, modern in decor. The staff is very pleasant, attentive and proficient. At our table, we ordered branzino, silk snapper and bream fish. Three of us tasted each dish and were in agreement - excellent. The fourth person had a filet steak cooked as ordered. For sides we had truffle fries and exotic mushrooms, both were very good. These fries were nice and crisp whereas in other places they are usually soggy. Desserts were also delicious. Two of us were celebrating birthdays and we were given a yummy dessert for the occasion.
Excellent food. Appreciated the attention to finer details in the food, which really sets this place above most other restaurants.
Food was really good. Room was nice but pretty stark. Staff is GREAT! You have to give them a try! A little pricey but well worth it!
Great food, nice staff. White table cloth vibe with high end food presentation.
