Oscar Mayer Review

Please I beg you don't enroll your children into this school. Just because it's in a nice neighborhood does't mean it's a great school. The principle is racist and immature. She is like an adult bully to the children. they also have the worst gym teacher, drama teacher, music teacher, and art teacher. I've also seen these teachers put hands on children. A teach actually put their hand on me as i was walking away, they thought I was a student and when I turned around they said sorry and said "I thought you were a student", I found what they did and what they said very disrespectful. I replied back saying "even if i was a child, you have no right to put your hands on anyone's child like that". I want my child to be looked at as an equal human being before they are looked at as a child to an adult while I'm not around

i went to this school when i was in 3rd grade and loved it i met new people and i love going to school every day

School is great and the teachers are amazing. Our teacher see the students as an equal to themselves and they treat us with great respect. They have never put a hand on me and it will stay that way. Our school is an amazing learning environment for any child. I highly suggest to enroll your child here.

They are rude and they put their hands on children. And they yell at you for any little thing. I wouldn't recommend this awful school.

This school has a very friendly environment as well as the staff and the teachers. The teachers may be strict, but it is for the best of the students. As a student, I have been here since my first year of pre-k and now I am in 7th and it has been great. I really recommend looking at this school if you are looking for a school for your child.

All those comments about a racist, bully principal are untrue. Our principal is very just and African - American. Also when the teachers put there hand on a student, it is only a pat on the back. The gym teacher is OUTSTANDING, as well as the drama, and music teacher. (The art teacher was fired due to CPS budget cuts.) The school also takes bullying very seriously. As a student I agree they are strict about talking in hallways etc., but for the best.

I love the school. What an awesome opportunity for my son to learn in a Montessori environment! He is thriving. I also love the community of parents who support each other and get super involved to make sure the school maintains its wonderful programming despite CPS cuts. Bravo to the huge team that make this school such a success.

I used to be a student here and it was awful to much bullying and the teachers didint do anything

The school is great but some of the staff they have is bad. But when it comes down to confidential I say poor the principal told my personal business to a cop which should of never happen yes he's a cop but didn't give her the right to say anything my kids are being questioned every chance they get Dcfs always being called on me every year for stupid stuff the school is great but some of the staff there is ok!! And the school is racist my kids even feel that the school is racist !!!

I went to Oscar Mayer in the 60s. I had the best of both worlds. We moved to Addison in 67 for a couple yrs. I couldnt wait to get back at Oscar Mayer. In 6th grad we moved to Elkhart IN. I was at oscar Mayer before DePaul was built.
