Orpheum Theater Review

The only time I've been here was to catch "The Pink Floyd Experience ". It was a great show and service was excellent.

I photographed an event here recently, and fell in love with this theater instantly. This historical building has a visual mix of classy, artsy, and vintage, with one of the best seating layouts for watching performances. We sat in the balcony and the view was excellent. No bad seats in the house. Sound mix was great. Staff is friendly. Drinks are overpriced.

Great view no matter where you are sitting. Arrive early to find cheaper parking.

It was easy to get to and from the venue. The seating is comfortable and the bar is nice.

Beautiful venue, Most seats are going to give a great view of the stage. Plenty of opportunities to grab a drink from the bars or the cocktail staff going up and down the aisles. Restrooms are downstairs but there is an elevator for anyone with disabilities. Very friendly, helpful staff at The Squeeze show I attended.

Great theatre...small parking structure...but very nice

Every show I've seen here has been fantastic! There is exceptional dining in close proximity. Almost too many options for a pre concert meal. I usually uber or lyft, but there are parking lots near to the theater. So glad to have a small old theater with great acts to add to my venue list!

Historical venue that has hosted vaudeville acts, burlesque shows, motion pictures and music acts such as Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Little Richard, Aretha Franklin and Little Steve Wonder.

Attending an event here is like traveling back in time. It is glamorous, with many details: domed ceiling, frescos on wall, chandeliers, wood carved sculptures with lighting, padded lobby seating, wood carved benches. The lounge area (dimmed lighting) on main floor is high ceilings, artfully carved corniches, tapestry woven carpet, street lamp lighting. To the left of the entrance there is another dimly lit lounge with plush comfortable couches, hand carved wood chairs and wood paneling.

The auditorium is just as magnificent. Main floor uses Roman columns, stain glass inspired art, walls and ceilings of Beaux Arts style of the era in which it was built. Draped balcony boxes. And Mighty Wurlitzer organ, 1 of 3 pipe organs remaining in Southern California. You must make a point of looking up here...the ceilings here are a work of art in themselves!

This is a small intimate venue, a perfect place for a live performance. In my opinion, no bad seats here. Any place you sit you have a great view of the stage. I am fan of balcony seats because it raises you above eye level, and allows you to see more of the performance.

It is an amazing example of architecture and history. They do not offer tours of the facility, do if you want to see this venue, best to find a show you want to see. Or join LA Conservancy who hosts an annual summer event, Last Remaining Seats, showing classic films at 6 to 10 historical movie palaces. A MUST for die hard history or movie buff!

What a beautiful venue. Parking around the venue isn't the easiest but it is downtown so that's to be expected. I had the opportunity to see Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution play here with a full orchestra and it was fantastic.

Great show and the theater itself was beautiful.

Very intimate setting (I.e. crowd size) was ideal for Dita Von Teese burlesque performance on New Year's Eve.

Very nice restoration. The seats are a little cramped for big people like me.

The decor of this Building is spot on. Very organized staff and The seats are comfortable. What more could you ask for?

Glorious movie palace from the Golden Age of silent films. Great listening to the Mighty Wurlitzer, too.

Great venue with excellent sound quality. The bar is perfect for getting the evening off to a solid start.

Beautiful view out of this venue. Acoustics are decent for a historical building. Great views all around. Staff is great and friendly. Nice smoking section behind the theatre.

Good venue. Good acoustics. You can see the act well no matter where you sit.

Looks nice from the inside. Chairs not comfortable and air conditioning is bad.
