A loved one of mine was at this program for a little over 30 days and when they got home it was like the were finally themselves again. They struggled for years before we decided this would be the best place for them and I am so grateful for ORC. They even provided family sessions so we could set boundaries and continue to repair our lives together. Thank you for all the hard work that you guys do!

Also I actually feel will miss track B, I got so much quality time with my favorite techs being in track B and honestly it s the most normal I ve ever eaten In my whole life.

A quick briefing of my recent experience....Lack of communication, organization and consistency! I would like to acknowledge the following who have always went above and beyond for myself and other residents when I/we needed assistance with recovery, care and even basic needs... BHTs' Pierre, David, Mark, Que, Phil from answering questions to even just lending a non-judgmental ear; Ms. Mary M. for her amazing willpower and inspiration; Gabe for educational groups; Nicole in intake for her patience; Justy for his big heart and activities, And most of all, Dr. Sean for advocating for medical requirements and wellbeing! Without these mentioned individuals, I would not of been able to honestly provide much positive feedback. ORC is not horrible by all means but if you are not willing to advocate for yourself or with Dr. Sean your stay "MIGHT" turn into a confusing mess... .

ORC is such an amazing facility. I was extremely lucky to have Elizabeth as my therapist, who is truly the best I have ever encountered. The staff is exceptional and they always made me feel right at home. Their groups are very informative and it is definitely some where I would recommend. Staff such as the nurse Chrystal and BHTS Chelsea, Bria, Tomeko, Alicia, Georgia, Creg and Dorraine are truly exceptional and treat you as a person. They go above and beyond.

ORC has been a lifesaver. After 30 years on prescription opiates and benzos, I finally feel I have life tools I can utilize in my sober life. All Counselors and staff are truly compassionate to patients. Easy detox calmed my fears and excuses.

Overall a great place for treatment. The staff ho out of their way to help, some really care about filling the gaps. Shout out to Ms Donna and the kitchen staff (Ms Liz, and Diana) for going out their way to make sure we had good meals. Also the BHT's, Chelsea, Pierre, Steve, Ms Catharine, Annette, Tameko, Aylene, Gaycie, Kathleen, Phil, Ms Jordan, Aleecia. Now there is some room for improvement. Communication is very poor, but improving.

My daughter has been in there almost 3 weeks now. ...

My daughter has been in there almost 3 weeks now. I am the one who encouraged and helped her find this facility. I have called and left several messages, as the voice mails are all I get. I am disturbed at the fact that come to find out by the grandmother, I am not allowed there. My daughter once checked in there I suppose decided to tell everyone there false things to have them believe I am her trigger. Well since my mom, her huge enabler has been the only one to be able to visit besides my daughters friends she does drugs with, I seem to be shut off from any info on her progress. My father finally went and was able to shed some light in the session and i will be trying yet again tomorrow to get a hold of her counselor Claire. I am thankful I finally know something. With the grace of God I do hope to be able to speak with her and get some insight into what is going on. I am her Mother and am worried and do not think that the level of professional and understanding of addicts and their enablers and how they lie and the enablers will take up for them has even been considered from this establishment. I am hoping to be able to raise my raiting on this center as I am bringing to their attention the lack of involvement that has not happened on reaching out to me for at least a conversation by phone . After all it has come to my attention that I have been the one she is describing as her trigger . I would like to think my daughter will get the best care she needs here. That cannot happen if she and the grandmother who is the enabler keep up this muse. Addicts lie and their enablers are blinded and will stand by their side giving them and saying whatever. because they cannot believe that it is the addicts fault. Help and healing cannot even begin until truth and tough love from grandma happens. Tomorrow I will repost a review. I truly hope to be able to get a hold of this counselor, Claire who I am sure would and should have questions for me for the healing and understand process to begin in this rehabilitation center. I am looking forward to a very educational and helpful conversation so that I know all avenues of therapy are being thought of and explored for my daughter to get the treatment and healing she so deserves. Thank you. I had to make every party aware of this situation.

Overall, I am grateful for my experience at ORC. Claire, Phil, Mark, Jasmine, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Teona, Jose, Liz, Annette, and Pierre especially went above and beyond, and had an extremely positive impact.
However, the lack of communication, follow through, and consistently changing policies and procedures from the leadership administration lead to a frequently frustrating and confusing experience for many. I hope in the future they'll consider the gravity of the impact that inconsistency and lack of attention to important issues has on the people that select and trust this facility to give them help, support, and tools for a better quality of life.

As a patient who attended Orlando Recovery Center ...

As a patient who attended Orlando Recovery Center as a voluntary admit, I am pleased to report that my decision was a good one. The facility is nice (near a pleasant looking lake) and the caring nature of the staff at the facility was evident during all interactions, I truly believe they are the glue that holds ORC together. Special thanks to my therapist Kelly for helping me label and process my thought distortions, Mister Phil for waking me up in the morning to work out and for making sure I didn t go to sleep hungry, Pierre for showing true compassion and empathy (and sharing a few tears), and to Miss Judy for making EVERYTHING else happen.

Clinically, ORC is JCAHO accredited for the treatment of addiction. As a member of the healthcare workforce myself, this was a deciding factor for me to attend programming here. The Professionals Group is truly a blessing to those with safety sensitive careers, and the small group atmosphere afforded me the set and setting to grow from a place of vulnerability. I do not live in the area, or even the same side of the country, but if I did, I would happily attend outpatient treatment at this facility.

I just completed my 30+ day treatment at ORC. I fo...

I just completed my 30+ day treatment at ORC. I found the program very intensive with group therapy, which was helpful, but lacking in individual therapy and doctor visits. The detox process was relatively pain free but also the only time where I felt like I was being closely medically monitored.
The major flaw of the program, by far, was the communication process within the facility. Few guidelines in the handbook we were given matched up with reality. I often felt as if I had to "chase down" staff in order to accomplish things ; including, but not limited to getting my medications at the right time. This was especially irritating when I had a cold and was in detox. I was in the eating disorder unit (aka Track B), which made things even harder. Since this unit is smaller, the unit nurse was always getting pulled to do admissions (which also take forever).
Case management also only has one employee for the ENTIRE facility (they do utilize virtual case managers). Because of this, I had to find out the hard way during my third week that my FLMA was never completed and had to take it upon myself to obtain resources to finish it. Communication is haphazard and seems to be primarily based on emails that may or may not be seen.
All this being said, the staff that the facility does have are understanding and caring and do the best the can with an abysmal communication system. This was truly the redeeming factor. Shout out to BHTs Aleane and Tameko from the Grace unit and nurses Deanna and Quantina! People like these made my stay so much more pleasant. Overall, the facility has a pleasant atmosphere and the groups are quality.
I would also like to mention that this place doesn't emphasize the 12 step program other than optional evening meetings.
Thanks for reading!

My stay at ORC was great... the majority of the staff is AMAZING and they make you feel like your at home. If you re lucky enough to get Elizabeth as your therapist you are in great hands. All the therapists are great, but Elizabeth was the first therapist that I meshed with ever in my life. The Food isn t always my favorite, but I can t complain. Plus they work with you and your dietary restrictions. The beds are very comfy, and the rooms are spotless. I ve gained a lot of knowledge and also had a lot of fun. I ll walk out of ORC with my head held high and grateful for my experience. Thank you all who made my journey so special!

Before coming to Orlando Recovery Center, I did no...

Before coming to Orlando Recovery Center, I did not think I needed to be in rehab. Boy was I wrong. This stay was extremely beneficial to my mental health and drug addiction.
My therapist T.J. Was fantastic. He helped me dig deep and find out more about myself. My family therapist Ellen was OUTSTANDING my family loves her!
My overall stay was filled with ups and downs because of personal problems.
If you think you can come to rehab and have the staff take care of your plans after rehab, you're sadly mistaken. As long as you are your own self advocate, you can begin a long and healthy lifestyle. They provide the tools, your job is to be active and reach out to use them.
I was frustrated about some of the food choices. I felt that laziness was present and throwing together food for patients was also a thing. Most days were good food options with a lot to eat. But in a way it felt as if it were first come first serve. While other days there was extra food for everyone.
I personally loved the facility even though I experienced feelings of disorganization and structure. But I understand that there are a lot of patients with individual needs.
I found myself loving the people here including the staff, feeling comfortable with sharing things I ve never shared before, making connections lasting for a lifetime, and overall feeling of being content and excited for my plan to recover.
Honorable mentions include:
T.J. And Ellen the best family therapist in the league! BHT: Phil, Pierre, Joy, Catherine, Alicia and my favorite nurse Cassidy. Also lunch/dinner distributor Liz. And recreation man Justy! SPORTS!

I ll always recommend ORC for anyone struggling with addiction or mental health issues. The program works if you work it. And it s not the facility it s you!
Thanks ORC and thanks to all of their wonderful people that work there.

ORC is an excellent facility. This is a great place to re-group and put your life on a different path. I spent almost 60 days and I am happy to have been equipped with the tools that I need to face life and my addiction that I am over coming. Also, what really impacted my time here was the overall dedication of the staff which I am truly grateful for.

A very special shout out to my therapist Shameka W...

A very special shout out to my therapist Shameka Williams, she was amazing!!! She always had an ear to hear, to listen to my problems and she always made time for me regardless of her busy and hectic schedule. I was such a hot mess when I first got there, and she helped me to realize that it's okay to "be selfish "during my recovery. She helped me to realize that if I was not whole and healthy as a person, that I had nothing to offer to my children and my grandchildren. I was so nervous about doing family therapy , and about making amends to my loved ones, and the ones that I hurt and she made it such a smooth process. I would also like to send a shout out to my doctor Doctor Manual ( Dr. Sean), he was amazing as well. I had such high anxiety and I was so depressed when I first got there, and he called me out on my BS, and he helped me work through a lot of emotional things through medication, as well as through therapy. And I left there with so much more self esteem and self confidence, because of his "pep talks" every time that I spoke with him. One more shout out to the amazing BHT staff. There was not one there that did not always have a smile on their face each day and was there for our every need, and I know it's a hard job dealing with patients that are going through recovery, especially the patients going through detox. Every last one of the BHT staff is amazing, they all deserve raises!!!The best" hands down" is Pierre....words can't describe the impact he had on my life..and I can't forget Dorraine" because no matter what was going on throughout the day, she ALWAYS kept a smile on her face" and being able to listen to her gospel music made my day! Also, Mrs. Flowers was amazing, such a kind and gentle spirit! I thank God for Orlando recovery center they have gave me back my life. .I learned so much about my addiction and my disease of alcoholism, especially things concerning the brain and I will never be the same after my stay there!!!! I definitely cannot forget Mrs. Donna and the kitchen staff... Including Mrs.Liz, Tristan, Billy, andJamecia. The food was so amazing, I gained 20 pounds while I was there( but I needed it though...lol) 3 wonderful meals a day, also snacks 3 times a day. Being at ORC also introduced me to AA and NA meetings. Those rooms were the most fulfilling,. I finally didn't feel so alone in my addiction, we were like a real family in those rooms, and it prepared me to be a part of the rooms on the outside as well. I am currently going to at least 6 meetings a week and working with my sponsor in the "Big Book". Today,, I am 54 days sober, and I owe it all to GOD first, O.R.C second, and my determination third. I will forever be grateful to my therapist, my doctor and all the wonderful staff for taking such good care of me !!! I love you guys

Most of the staff is cool like Silvie, Paige, Chelsea R., Ms. Jordan, Judy, and Pierre. Terrible communication throughout the whole program. Was neglected outside the hospital waiting to get picked back up. Hopefully if I need to come back they will have better organization and hold the staff accountable like they hold their patients. Overall great facility and activities provided. Life changing experience and I m thankful that I made the choice to go because it has truly changed my perception of life.

There is always some confusion it seems with a few people. Many times multiple people had issues with medication. The food is very carb heavy and many different rules are applied or not applied. What you are allowed to bring and have and need are very confusing. It seems I was always missing something.

Some of the staff are absolutely AMAZING and truly care for you. They treat you like human beings. Others need sensitivity training.

I came to ORC looking for a quick fix to my problems. I was definitely in the wrong place. The therapy I received was outstanding. My therapist, Elizabeth, is the very best. She helped me with the tools I have inside myself to stay in recovery. The staff is very caring. Pierre, Kelly, Chelsea, Phil and Tameka were some of my favorites. The food was very good. They have a chef on staff that knows his way around the kitchen, if you know what I'm saying. The beds were very comfortable. I made some lifelong friends whom I can call anytime for support. I would recommend ORC to anyone who is looking to take back there life. Vicki Sheehan-Flory.

My husband was using Kratom and I called an 800 nu...

My husband was using Kratom and I called an 800 number to get info about it. They were telling me it s a drug that has not been approved by the FDA. They continued with how I need to get my husband there so he can go through his withdrawals being under a doctors care. A bit of history on my husband, he was addicted to cocaine 13 years ago and has an addictive personality. But all the way up until last year someone at work told him about kratom and how it would help his back pain. Not knowing that my husband has addiction issues in the past.
So the recovery center hotline kept calling me and saying how important it is to get him there. I had him to go and thinking he was going to get cleaned up from an over the counter herbal medicine. The first day they had him on Xanax, saboxone and abilify and one other medicine to relax him!!!! I about flipped my lid! For one the day before I drove 200 miles to get him there and I guess they thought I wouldn t come back that far to get him when I heard that. They weren t helping him they were hurting him!! When we arrived he had a clean blood test. Nothing was in his system. So they chose to dope him up! I was calling the head nurse and she was saying don t get him your husband wants to be here. I was told this by a supervisor too. I went to get him that same evening and he was so doped up he fell asleep all the way home and the next day. For a few days he was total wiped out.
I called the next day to talk to the administrator and she wouldn t return my call until I kept calling back and then she said she didn t have permission to talk to me which isn t true because my husband put me down as a contact that can have info. Thats why her staff was able to tell me the meds he was on.
I still call back and leave her voice mails and she doesn t return my call.
This place is horrible and I d never ever take anyone to a place like this because of this experience.
