Called today to let them know that I had a threat from someone that said they were going to show up at my old house in Orland (the person doesn't know that I've moved - yet), and the overall demeanor of the man that I spoke to on the phone was very condescending. I was trying to do the decent thing by letting the authorities know before he shows up at the house and scares the people who are now living there. Thanks for the attitude on top of an already stressful situation. I do not know why on earth you need to speak to people that way (this isn't the first time I've encountered this from this department). I understand that you have an enormous amount of BS to deal with on the daily, but, not everyone is a liar, or full of drama, or trying to cause problems, or has a crime record, etc.
Please treat people the way that you want to be treated ... with respect.

I called the orland park police department non-emergency number when I had locked myself out of my vehicle.

They quickly sent over a friendly officer with a wedge, slim-jim, and airbag to open the truck for me free of charge.

Thank you for all your help

Highly professional, very kind, and educational to motorists new to the area.
The Officer I encountered was patient and kind, as he directed me to my destination. I was confident that I knew my way, however, clearly I was wrong. I was very appreciative for his demeanor - understanding he could have had a much different approach. Truly a blessing to have encountered this Officer - especially on Sept. 11. Many thanks - OP PD. Exceptional people. Keep up the great work.

Last night my husband and I were involved in an accident on 82nd Ave. We were rear ended when a driver slammed into our car. The policeman, fire department and paramedics were wonderful!! They were very professional, knowledgeable and concerned! They all deserve five stars. Orland Park is very fortunate to have caring people working to protect them!!
Thank you Orland Park!!

This department targets poor people and minorities...

This department targets poor people and minorities because they don't want poor people and minorities in their town, especially living in their town. If you drive an old car through Orland they will follow you and make up a reason to pull you over and will give you a citation no smaller than $75. If you live here, expect to be pulled over at least once a month. This department makes more from petty citations than any other department in Illinois. They do nothing to make us feel safe. Only the exact opposite. The officers are lazy and do nothing but sit in speed trap zones or scan the mall parking lot.
Don't come to Orland. Don't spend money here. And especially don't drive here.

Awesome interaction with the public. Always friendly. Wave if I'm outside or walking my dog. I've been stopped while walking dog at times if they were looking for someone etc. All communities need this interaction & connection to LE. Great men & woman we should be very thankful for. TY for keeping us safe!

My first encounter with a Orland cop was the worst. He stopped me for doing a improper turn switch. I was nervous because I hate getting pulled over I have very bad anxiety and this man called back up and forced me to get out of my car because he wanted to search my car. I did nothing wrong and I even gave him my license & registration but he wanted to do a search.. for what??? Both him and his back up were nothing but rude, unprofessional, and highly disrespectful towards me. Once he spent 30 mins desperately trying to find something in my car, he ended up being unsuccessful so he had to let me go. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Orland Park police are the WORST!!!

I was pulled over by a police officer at 3:30 a.m....

I was pulled over by a police officer at 3:30 a.m. as I traveled to Lifetime Gym. There was NO ONE ON LAGRANGE other than the cop and I...NO ONE. He was at the light on the corner of Lagrange and 159th. I pulled up next to him. When the light turned green, he get's out of the turning lane...follows me to Lifetime where he pulls me over. When asked why I was pulled over he says "You turned lanes without using your turn signal" A.) If it were true, which it wasn't, why would I need to turn on a turn signal when there's NO ONE on the road other than myself B.) I traveled in one line the entire route from the moment I left my house which is at the corner of 131st and LaGrange. I had no reason to turn into another lane. C.) How in the hell could you have seen this had I been guilty of what you accused me of???? Bottom line, he saw an African American, driving am expensive vehicle, in a white city and wasn't comfortable with it.. Young recist cop. And we wonder why there's a racial divide within our nation.

Disregard the previous post. That was posted out of anger. The Orland Park police department does a tremendous job of apprehension and providing public safety. The community appreciates you dearly, and may God bless you for all your service.

Police Departments deserve a five star rating! While I am sure the officers of Orland Park are dedicated and professional public servants, I have difficulty figuring out why a firing range cannot be installed in the new facility on Ravinia. Firing in a warehouse at the Public Works Department facility is not professional. An authorized range, maybe like the new Eagle Gun in Oak Forest, could be rented for training. Sound-proofing may work at the current location. I, and many others, have thoughts that this could have been figured out long ago. This needs to be resolved.

Great state of the art facility!!! The parking lot is designed to reabsorb rain water to prevent run off, and use half the concrete of a normal lot. The conference room is State of the art technology as the officers are well trained as professional!!

I own a business in the village & find there incompetence beyond reproach. They found the thief who stole merchandise & impounded the it. I never got my merchandise back & came up w/ some BS story why I didn't get it back. This is only 1 story of many as to how they treat incidents I have had. They show up & write a citation because my dog was barking because the Sargent who was doing seat belt ticketing was "annoyed" by it but the bar can blast music & it's not an issue!

Thank you so much to the Orland Park police. My mom and I had a flat on LaGrange today. They came out and sat behind us so we'd be safe. The officer even called and waited for the tow truck and then drove us over to the tire shop. I didnt get the officers name nut want him to know I appreciate what he did for us and my mom got a kick out of riding in his car. Thank you so very much. God's blessings on you and your family.

I've been living in Orland Park for 10 years. During this time, the traffic in my subdivision has increased. People blow the stop sign in front of my house at alarming rates, sometimes flying through at 40 MPH even when my children are outside. Two weeks ago, there was an accident right in front of the children at the bus stop because two people didn't stop at the stop sign. Each time I've called an complained, they've sent an officer over to sit (no joke) for 5 minutes or less. I'm tired of seeing officers sit in speed traps while kids are at risk of getting hit in subdivisions because the officers would rather give out speeding tickets than keep residents safe.
