Human Rights are being violated in Venezuela and they do nothing about it.

Venezuelan security forces have used excessive and unlawful force against protesters on multiple occasions since February 12, including beating detainees, and shooting at crowds of unarmed people. It has also blocked transmission of a TV channel and threatened to prosecute news outlets for their coverage of the violence. Journalists and human rights defenders have reported violence and intimidation by government agents and supporters.Thirteen people have died and hundreds have been injured.

What people do not understand is that the OAS is like a club, which has certain requirements to enter (such as being a democratic state) and you hardly show that you no longer meet them, since they are fully entitled to discuss it and re-consider your subscription and benefits ...!

People who think that the OAS only wants oil from Venezuela, let me tell you that they are IGNORANT and sick.

Valerie. My rating for the OAS is actually zero. It doesn't carry out its mandate, as it should, concerning its member/states. Corruption is rampant, also, within that organization, along witht he IACHR. It is very particular in which member/state it goes after, for any violations of its charter. Currently it has ignored completely, the Canadian government's violation of it, in terms of its human rights abuse record. Petioners from that country, are faced with dealing with the corruption, from the OAS and the IACHR, concerning their claims, for human rights abuse, by that government. This has been covered up entirely, by the OAS and the IACHR. In the meantime it goes after Venezuela and other countries, while ignoring the same actions, from other member/ states, that it is also in league with. The corruption within those two organization, is also unacceptable, to the image of the public. It is an affront, to human rights standards, as well.

This organization accomplishes much more than people ridicule it for...it should take on the role of an "European Union" in the sense that the whole of North America is united throughout. It's simply not a bad organization, it is for the sticking together of the North American continent.

I think this is the worst organization that countries can have. Actually, its secretary Jose Miguel Insulza has been the worst shame in OEA's history. Who pays you? Nicolas Maduro? What should be your role as secretary of OEA? Venezuelan people is suffering and you say nothing. This organization should have a different secretary!

The OAS must be more useful and try harder to reduce democracy and values throughout America, not to let new dictatorships be created like the one that is being created in Venezuela.

As a Guatemalan, I demand that once and for all, the repressive policies of the Belizean soldiers be sanctioned towards the Guatemalan population, first of all towards the cowardly and unprofessional of the Minister and the armed forces of Belize.
