I brought a EB brand fridge (double glass doors) sometime ago for my home bar, cost more than the standard fridges but was more economical to operate. Warranty was 12 months and at the 14 month mark had a problem when the temperature in the fridge went and froze all my drink contents which subsequently exploded.
Contacted Orford on several occasions and left messages for the sales rep to call me back but they avoided me like the plague, eventually called under a different name so they would take my call and when I explained the events that had happened they basically wiped me because the fridge was out of warranty (by 2 months).
I can appreciate the warranty period but when you purchase a commercial fridge (dear one) and am only using it in a home environment you would expect that it would last longer then 14mths, especially since I have a fridge / freezer in our kitchen that is over 10 years old and is still going strong.
As they don't offer any servicing I subsequently had to get a refrigeration mechanic in who charged me an arm and a leg and replaced the temperature probe in the fridge, this fix only lasted for several months when the temperature would rise and wasn't keeping things cool. So now I have a $3000.00 + fridge sitting useless in my dry bar thanks to Orford.
Once Orford have their sale there is no after sales service and for the type of product I purchased I should be getting years of trouble free maintenance from a commercial fridge. Anyone considering purchasing a fridge product from Orford, do yourself a favour and spend your money with their competitors and hopefully you don't have the same problems.
