Wonderful buildings in beautiful surroundings. The art was fascinating and beautifully displayed particularly the permanent exhibitions. I would have given this museum five stars except for one very negative part - as per most museums you have to view behind a barrier but if you have bi focals or are short sighted you cannot see the detail in the pictures. My friend and I had to lean forward to view and a very rude guard told us off for getting too close. He was unnecessary blunt and rude and put us off a lot. Couldn't see the rest of the exhibition in details so that was disappointing. Also on revisiting one part we ran into another rude guard because we weren't displaying our 'spot' tickets well enough. One of us had put a jumper on and the other had mistakenly hidden hers behind the museum brochure. Again, unnecessarily rude and obnoxious. Was so surprised I was lost for words!! How to put off paying customers!!!!! So beware - don't put a foot wrong here. Could learn some courtesy!!!!

A "country house" with a beautiful gallery of French impressionists, to which was added a modena wing of the most beautiful effect for temporary exhibitions. Beware of very short hours, from 1 pm on weekdays, but the coffee (very nice) is open from 12h with access from the back of the modern wing.

Ordrupgaard is situated in a lovely scenery, which is one of the reasons I enjoy visiting it every year. Especially when the weather is nice in spring, there's nothing better then enjoying a cafe in the garden.
The museum is composed of two wings, the new one which features temporary exhibitions and the old one where is the permanent exhibition. The permanent one has mostly Danish art while the temporary one focuses on different artists.

Ordrupgaard is a state museum under the Ministry of Culture .. And an ambitious one of a kind. Rated here at the end of June 2018 also a bit of a farce. Now, a year ago, the staff was laid off and the museum's closure was announced in October 2017 due to the forthcoming rebuilding (expansion). This was later pushed to close only at the end of 2017. And since then nothing has happened. Preparations for the conversion were not in place at all, the contractor was not found, and there is not yet the shadow of an excavator on the site.

For me, this is symptomatic of the museum, which from once in the beautiful main building and its first hall to be a little gem with a fine collection of Danish and French painting from the 19th century into the early 20th century, under the self-realization of changing directors .. Among other things. also, to promote the possibility of hosting large international exhibitions with high security requirements, ... with an extension completely unsuitable for exhibition use ... claustrophobically cramped with skewed angles, low light incidence and a hopelessly cluttered foyer area (sorry Zaha Hadid). and most recently a project "Himmelhaven" which in the spirit of the times must be buried underground, which is why all the trees in front of the main building are supposed to die.

All this said, the museum, when it otherwise works, is still worth a visit both for its fine permanent collection and the changing special exhibitions. In addition, the park behind the museum in good international style has been incorporated into an art park, quite effectively .. and currently during the museum's general closure is actually still open and accessible.

Before the closure, it was a really good art museum with an associated park, you could eat packed lunches or enjoy the sun in. The park is still open during the renovation of the museum, and it is a cozy excursion.

Loved the art selection there. I was there for the Monet. They keep changing the exhibit. Definitely worth a visit if you are biking nearby. It cost something but it is free on certain days. Do make sure to check the website before you plan.

Extremely expensive for such a small museum, eveb though the exhibitions are nice. There is a big surrounding area that could have been made much nicer and cozier, but is underused. Super crowded on the weekend, it seems like the entire More

I just visited the park since the museum is closed until 2019. It was a great experience! Interesting art and also nicely maintained landscape (much like Louisiana). Great spot to have a picnic or bring kids. Especially recommend the new bamboo sculpture!

The Carl Larsson exhibition was excellent. But it is incredible that there is only one person to operate the ticket queue and that the same person must also take care of the store sales. We gave up buying the book, which belongs to the exhibition, because the queue was far too long when we had seen the exhibition. I then thought that you could order the book over the net, but neither can you.
In addition, we had a disabled person who had to participate in lunch at the cafe. But the access road to the chute was closed because the showrooms were not opened. That is not acceptable. Fortunately, there was a helpful waitress who opened the access door, after having unsuccessfully asked for help from the other staff.

Exhibition is limited both in quality and quantity by comparison to SMK or other art museums. Entry price likewise disproportionate. Cafe is stunningly crowded with only half of available floor space being utilized!

Unbelievable! This museum is for me, a great lover of architecture, a real gem with the magnificent extension of Zaha Hadid and the house of Fin Juhl. French Impressionist works, however, leave me hungry.

Wonderful structure designed by Zaha Hadid in the green of a beautiful forest. Green meadows all around and interesting outdoor installations. Shows inside very beautiful and quite rich, shame about the poor and poorly positioned lighting.

Beautiful architecture designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid. The experience from exterior and interior of the building is each unique yet coherent to one another, a master piece of architectural design.
