Orange County Buddhist Church Review

This review is from my experience. I speak only for myself and in no way for anyone else.

I have been coming here on and off since like 2012 due to work schedule. These people are so laid back. They have NEVER, EVER asked me for a dime or sign up to be a member of their church (Buddhism doesn't work like that). I have NEVER, EVER felt unwelcome. I have gone to Sunday services, Wednesday services, and religious studies class ($10 per class). Many members are Asian, as this sect of Buddhism comes from Japan but the members are very open AND accepting. I am an openly gay Latino male and have never had problems here. Buddhism does not require you reject your current religion in order to accept the other (Buddhism doesn't work like that). Give it a try and see if it works for you.

A wonderful place for worship. They focus on the Old Testament with a feeling you are there.

Would attend the annual flower festival. It was great to see something different every year. The tea ceremony was a favorite, also enjoyed the knife and sword collection. It was interesting how they evolved with time. The food is always great.

Visited the Japanese cultural drum, dance, and food festival. The church provided convenient offsite free parking and a shuttle service that was really efficient with hardly any wait time.

Everything was very well organized but we should have brought our chairs to sit on during the performances.

Members of this church are so warm and welcoming to all. No pressures to join or convert; everyone is encouraged to find the path to enlightenment at their own pace. So many activities for kids, great cultural experiences, and organizations to make new lifelong friends.

The congregation is growing. It's full of life and full of heart.

Progressive, always trying to be relevant to all ages of their Sangha (community).

Been coming here since i was a child. They did a great job on the remodeling. It feels bigger, cleaner, and more modern now.
