My husband and I met with Bread and Butter concept...

My husband and I met with Bread and Butter concepts back in February of 2016, with our wedding planner and their Catering Director, Nathan. My husband and I love all of the BBC Restaurants, and we wanted our wedding to be very special with the farm to table concept. The meeting went very well, and Nathan suggested different food stations, and even a late night Taco Truck for our wedding guests. Nathan seemed to listen to our vision, and he made us feel very welcomed and non-judgmental. We are a Gay Couple getting Married in Kansas, and there was some paranoia when you begin meeting with different vendors. During our first meeting Nathan understood the Wedding Venue would take place at Mildale Farms in Edgerton, KS (15 miles outside of Olathe), and he also knew the date would be on Saturday, September 24th, 2016. After the meeting over the course of the next couple of months we were able to get a final menu down. However, Nathan still just informally made sure we were confirmed without having us sign a contract or make a deposit. Week after week we would communicate to Nathan that we wanted to make a deposit to confirm, and he would reply with just stating that we shouldn't worry because we're on the books and everything is set! 16 days prior to our Wedding (a guest count of 200-a big event) Nathan informed our Wedding Planner that weekend wasn't going to work for Bread and Butter concepts. Nathan stated they were completely under-staffed to handle our wedding and menu because they were opening up two new restaurants, and it was the same weekend as the ANNUAL Plaza Art Fair. Because of our event, Nathan stated they had to hire more chefs and staff for the menu we selected. For them to cover the cost of our wedding, Nathan stated Bread and Butter would have increase our Catering cost by $6000. There was a price increase of 35% on all menu items. When I confronted the owner of Bread and Butter Concepts, Allen, on the situation, the made us feel like we were the ones who dropped the ball. We had email chain and documentation of us confirming with Nathan. Allen stated that they don't typically book events during the Plaza Art Fair, and he didn't realize our wedding was that weekend. I explained to him that Nathan knew back in February, and the date hadn't changed. I explained to Allen that he needed to make this right, and he said he would meet with his staff and get back with me personally on Monday morning. Allen stated he would get back with me and he never did. Instead, Allen had Nathan call me and state that they would honor the original catering quote, but couldn't do the menu we wanted. Nathan stated it would be difficult since they have too much going on that weekend. I told Nathan that we didn't trust the service they could provide since they were over-booked. I asked Nathan why he didn't let us know any sooner than two weeks before our wedding, and he didn't respond. I never received a call from Allen to reconcile. We were treated very poorly and what seemed to be unfair. We love the Bread and Butter Restaurants, and it was incredibly disappointing to us...and, it hurt. The catering business is completely unprofessional, and they seem to be over-whelmed with their growth. We still haven't been offered an apology. Luckily, we were able to find a vendor/restaurant who did an amazing job. We come to find out this wasn't the first time Bread and Butter couldn't follow through. Keep with the Restaurants! Your Catering is a complete disappointment...How very sad that you couldn't even apologize for what could've ruined something so important to my husband and I.

My sons treated me to the Thanksgiving buffet at Stock Hill. We were impressed with, well--everything. I asked my sons what they liked best; they said service and desserts. I said menu. Add location, ambience, classy, yet contemporary decor--I love the forest green sofas near the bar. What more would you want?

The company is a scam and treat their employees like garbage. From refusing to replace air conditioning during the peak of Missouri s humid summers. When the Oliver closed they could face the employees, the day they closed employees showed up for work to learn the restaurant closed. No meeting, no warning, couldn t tell them face to face. I do not recommend supporting this company.
