I'm not neutral but this is my favorite opera house. The contrast between the simplicity of the facade and the splendor of the interior is unique. Excellent acoustics.
There is no opera house on this earth like it. Wow wow wow!!! If you can go, go. The building is very plain from the outside so please do not be deterred from doing the tour because the inside more than makes up for it.
One of the most famous places in Milan in the world. It is a symbol of the city, at least once in your life you have to enter it and watch an opera. There are a large variety of shows some also suitable for children. Inside it is obviously wonderful and very charming
So ... going to La Scala always creates some difficulty in deciphering the composition that sounds better from the point of view of the clothes to wear. But this is not the case! In fact this evening it was a "proof of work". Maestro Daniel Harding, assisted by the house philharmonic, rehearsed B. Britten and H.Berlioz with passion and nice irony.
Wonderdul experience of Teatro all's Scala. Concert @ 20:00. Promptly shown to our. Well pre booked box. Was truly a WoW factor to be hear as I am am avid theatre visitor world wide. Sounds, ambience truly amazing. It was Saturday 5th May. Extremly hot inside. So ensure you have water to hydrate. Interval drinks downstairs or bar upstairs available. You may exit for fresh air or for those who smoke. There is a little park to right side exit . To sit and inhale fresh air. Leonardo d's Vinci. Park across from the Teatro. Cafe Bar to right also. Smart casualndress required. Jeans worn by some men with shirt & jacket. Some ladies dressed for the event. Beautiful old architecture. Chandleres about. Tickets booked in advance needed so as not to be disappointed. Teatro shop & tours of La Scala available during day. Worth it. An experience.
Had an amazing night. It was everything we hoped for. Beware whe buying seating in the boxes though. The back 2 limited view seats offer very little or no view of the stage. We the lucky. The people in front of us never turned up so we could use their seats and see the show.
What from the outside is the inside. Very praised. The museum consists of five rooms of 20 sq.m. with an exhibition of paintings and sculptures. It is not for everyone. The salon itself is nice, but not to look at it but to go to a show.
Shame!! You didn't show Madonna with her new tour. And then Italy complains! But please. Really pity! I hope Madonna won't come to Italy anymore. You don't deserve it!
The exterior does not look like much but once inside it is truly a magical place. The outfits of the very famous diva maria callas are a real joy. To visit absolutely
Wonderful acoustics ... great performers ... the rest leaves much to be desired ... especially the second rows in the balconies. Do not sell in large numbers of the sessions that force you throughout the work to any type of visibility. In addition to not seeing anything, if not the wall in front, the second row negatively affects the acoustics, returning a clearly muffled sound. There are people who make great sacrifices to take advantage of invaluable cultural heritages and who do not deserve such a situation. Rather than writing on your "limited view" site, you should write: you see absolutely nothing and you feel partially. I distrust everything to acquire this type of workstations. EXPERIENCE TO FORGET!

La Scala a place that changes only in a good way, a good rhythmic evening with a smiling, pleasant staff who take care of its customers ... the dishes are good and hearty and the setting is beautiful it is good on any line. Want to change of scenery without necessarily leaving your pay? Well, go there!

The best activities you can do at La Scala Milan theater
In the building of the theater there is a large museum belonging to the theater, in which many paintings of famous and ancient singers are displayed, and some recitations of the best opera singers throughout history.
It is unacceptable that, paying a hefty sum of money, you could not see the stage! In the box number 8, place 4, I did not see the show than standing ... I think it's a steal and a spot on the crest of a famous cultural institution so as Teatro alla Scala...
Wow amazing get to see the auditorium from a box. The gentleman on the box office was very accommodating as I had a suitcase with me that was too big for the lockers so he came out and stored it around the back of his office. Event service and great little museum. Probably worth getting the tour but I didn't have time as had to get to the airport.
Having the chance to live the first of the first is priceless ... especially when you can watch the first Tosca! My opinion It's all at the top! Obviously to be a horseshoe theater has good acoustics but not excellent.
Simply magnificent. Impossible to describe it in words. The museum is also fascinating. Impeccable. To visit absolutely and one day I would like to see a show from the box.
Also yesterday La Scala has come to a place of excellence. An impeccable orchestra, a conductor Chailly, always able to amaze and a first violin of very high profile have honored the 4 symphonies, so distant by age and conception, by Beethoven and Mahler. vote 9
Teatro alla Scala is arguably the best opera house in the world, considering the overall quality of its performances. The singers are always from the top tier in the world, while productions are extremely tasteful and elegant, with nothing of the extremes of the German style, and less extravagant than in Paris. An opera at La Scala is a guarantee of an unforgettable performance, while a ballet is much less so - while the costumes are lavish, the dancing itself surprisingly leaves much to be desired and firmly yields to Paris. La Scala is an opera theater first and foremost. Tickets are very expensive compared to Swiss or German opera houses, while still a better value than the New York City Metropolitan Opera. They are difficult to buy as the theater's website does not work well. La Scala is not a theater with a democratic tradition, so if your ticket is not in the orchestra and other two privileged tiers, you will not be allowed to the beautiful foyer; ticket holders are thus segregated according to their seats. And if you managed to buy only such a ticket at the higher tiers/balconies/galleria, be aware that there is only one small elevator, an a waiting time can be long. The air conditioning is quite weak compared to the American standards, but much stronger than in Germany or Switzerland. Opera Bastille has a much better AC. Seats in the cheaper category (balcony, 70 euro) are very small and the public sit tight. The inside temperature in the beginning of June was about 24 degrees Celsius at the galleria. However the orchestra is not much better, but the comfortable wide seat makes a difference. Not much can be seen from the second/third row seats in the side boxes, and from the second and further rows at the galleria. Overall being at La Scala at an opera is a pampering experience.
Compared to other Opera houses like Bolshoi in Moscow and the Vienna State Opera house, Teatro alla Scala fails to deliver a senese of grandeur. Patrons are hurridly ushered in via back doors, forced to climb bare concrete flights of stares to make it to their seat. For such a high price, do not expect this to be an elegant experience.
The Laskal Hall is one of the largest opera and ballet halls in Europe. We attended a performance from Tokyo. The ballet was awesome. Above all praise. Tickets cost from 22 euros to 300. When you go upstairs you see posters of grandiose ideas from which everything in the chest shudders
Puccini <Tusca>, led by Ricardo Shai. It's the reigning scalar theater for hundreds of years, and the cast is perfect and the orchestral sounds boom. It's hard to play the bold modern style and the arbitrary rhythm.
