the theater, which is one of the most famous theaters in the world, gave me a fantastic show, as usual, many intervals where you can have a drink in the foyer of the theater plus the well dressed and elegant masks showed me where my seat was . nothing to say about the theater which is gorgeous inside the red velvet masters in the hall and the time gives it a touch of class, the acoustics (one of the best in this world) left me speechless, I am not surprised by the fact that the greatest soprano tenors conductors etc. they work in a theater like this. The opera La staad oper The Royal Opera House, yes, they are incredibly beautiful, but the supremacy will always remain at the Teatro Alla Scala, I recommend it !!

Nice visit with a small museum bringing together a lot of costumes, statues, accessories ... and direct access to several boxes in the magnificent opera hall.

Great tour. You can enter the royal box and see the stage, and then you go under the stage. We could even see how different stage platforms are moving to prepare for the coming performance. English tour costs 25 euro and there is no student discount.

Piazza della Scala has become a must for tourists. Unfortunately, the view of the theater is ruined by the horribly modern superstructure that no one has ever thought of camouflaging to make it homogeneous.

La Scala needs no comment. A visit to Milan cannot be said complete without having gone to La Scala

Beautiful theater! The production & cast was so so (especially Juliette) ( saw Romeo & Juliette, January 2020). They provide subtitles in English, French and Italian, which was very useful. There was a lovely bar with drinks and snacks for the break.

Of course it s a seminal place, and a beautiful hall. I accidentally booked a seat in a box, which meant the sound wasn t as fantastic as I hoped and I couldn t access the subtitles.

Must watch an opera or ballet show once you are in Milan, however Paris Opera theater is luxurioier.

Considered as one of the most prestigious theaters in the world, it has hosted for 240 years the main artists in the international field of opera, and, more generally, of classical music, often commissioning works still present in the posters of the major theaters in the world.
The theater was inaugurated on August 3, 1778 with the recognized Europe composed for the occasion by Antonio Salieri and took its name from the church of Santa Maria alla Scala demolished to make room for the New Royal Ducal Teatro alla Scala.
Starting from the year of foundation, it is the seat of the homonymous choir, of the orchestra, of the corps de ballet, and since 1982 also of the Philharmonic. The theater complex is located in the square of the same name, flanked by the Ricordi Casino, now home to the La Scala Theater Museum.

The Teatro alla Scala (also known as La Scala) in Milan, Italy, is one of the most famous opera houses in the world
been located in two buildings. A fire destroyed the first, the old Ducale Theater, on February 25, 1776, after a carnival gala. The ninety owners of the theater boxes asked Archduke Ferdinand of Austria to build a new theater and a temporary one during the works.The neoclassical architect Giuseppe Piermarini made an initial design that was rejected by Count Firmian, an Austrian governor. A second plan was accepted by Empress Maria Teresa I in 1776.
The new theater was built on the site previously occupied by the Santa Maria alla Scala church, which gave the theater its name. The church was deconsecrated and demolished, and over a two-year period Pietro Marliani, Pietro Nosetti, and Antonio and Giuseppe Fe completed the construction of the new building. It was inaugurated on August 3, 1778, with the name of Nuovo Regio Ducal Teatro alla Scala, with the opera L'Europa riconosciuta de Salieri.
Like other theaters of the time, La Scala was also a casino.
The original structure was renovated in 1907, when it was changed to the current design. In 1943, during World War II, the bombings seriously damaged the theater. It was rebuilt and re-released on May 11, 1946 with a memorable concert conducted by Arturo Toscanini.
Many famous operas were premiered at La Scala and he had a very special relationship with the composer Giuseppe Verdi. However, for many years the composer did not perform any of his works there, since Verdi accused the orchestra of modifying his music.
Currently the building has a museum accessed from the foyer, with an extraordinary collection of paintings, sketches, statues and other documents related to the opera.
The theater was closed between January 19, 2002 and November 2004 for restoration. On this occasion the project was designed by the architect Mario Botta. During that period the company moved to the Teatro degli Arcimboldi. The restoration was controversial because those who watched over the preservation of the theater feared that the historical details would be lost. The most controversial decision was to demolish the entire post-stage area to create a "modern and functional service area, worthy of one of the most important theaters in the world", as argued. Instead, the philosophy that has guided the restructuring of the theater hall has been to restore La Scala to its original splendor and to eliminate all subsequent modifications. Carpets and paintings that hid the original marble have been removed and, where possible, 18th century decorations of some palchi of historical importance have been recovered, such as the azure-blue viceroy's barcaccia. The company is considered to have been satisfied and impressed with the sound quality and improvements to the structure. In the space that has been added to the back of the stage, more stage designs can be stored. The stands were equipped with monitors where the script is presented in English, French or Italian.

Beautiful theater, lovely atmosphere. Too bad that in 5 in the package only 2 can see. The others listen and do stretching. That's no good !!!
