This was part of our last Supper skip the line guided tour with a yellow bus. Walking and driving around Milano hitting the highlights. The Opera auditorium was preparing for the evening venue so we could not go in nor take any photos. We were allowed however, to walk in this small booth, 2 at a time, and view the fine Opera House. The museum itself had many fine artworks, musical instruments and other artifacts from the era. We had a great guide and she tried to explain so much, almost impossible. As we walked through the museum, it reminded me of a micro Vatican house; Art everywhere and very reminiscent for the period. If we were to visit again, we would try to see a show only and skip the museum. Recommended for its age and authenticity. Thanks for reading.

Caruccia, especially the exterior. Perhaps one of the most important theaters in Italy and it really deserves to be visited at least once! Beautiful red interiors and a large and majestic stage. In short, a verse show for the eyes!

I had been dreaming of seeing a performance there for many years. I naively thought that after my first experience I would come back on my repeat visits to Milan. It was truly legendary in its day. I came back to Milan many times, but never again to La Scala. First, the quality of their singers. I have seen some premier performers of Bel Canto tradition - Mirella Freni, Nikolai Ghiaurov, Luciano Pavarotti (all La Scala singers), and dozens of lesser singers. Most people raving about the theatre I believe have no basis for comparison. The quality of the current La Scala premiere singers was underwhelming to say the least. They were better of course than some provincial troupe outside of Italy. It was a premiere of the opera, and all the Milanese enthusiasts came to support their singers. They applauded and shouted bravo , but I was stunned with disappointment. Second, the acoustics. When I saw Freni, she filled the theatre (not La Scala) with her voice, every nook and cranny in every box and all the way at the nosebleed seats. I know as I talked to people for hours after that extraordinary performance. Did La Scala ruin the acoustics with their recent renovation? You could barely hear at the back of the box. Third, production values. The experience started with the backstage crew walking out on the stage in jeans and tees holding a large banner denouncing the administration. Way to start a classical performance! The rest was just horrendous modern degenerate stuff. Watch Woody Allen s comedy To Rome With Love to get a picture of what it was like. I paid 300 for this?! Fourth, the seating arrangement. You can see only a 1/2 of the stage from the box, if you stand up and lean. The picture on their site would be accurate only if you lean over the row in front of you. Fifth, there was no intermission for the entire duration of the opera. What the hell? It s the first for me. In addition, when some people pay hundreds of euros for performances, they think all rules of etiquette and propriety go out of the window. That includes the Milanese, unfortunately. I m truly sad to say: never again. La Scala has lost its mojo.

We went to see La Traviata not as fans but to live the evening experience at La Scala. I am in a wheelchair and I have to say that the only flaw is the reserved space, the upper part of the pit with an excellent view but on a slope. After more than three hours this inclination begins to give a little 'annoyance. Obviously nobody's fault. I do not know if it was a case but the seats reserved for the disabled was the only one was mine, maybe 80 are so many? Obviously for parking it is better to provide a quarter of an hour of advice to start from the right side of Via Brera free and close.

Amazing experience.

Amazing experience.

Gallery tickets were complicated to get, and the view from the seats was terrible, but you can stand and lean to get a better view, and the price, $15 euros each, the sound and the performance completely made up for it.

La Scala ... It is one of the most prestigious theaters in the world.! For almost two and a half centuries it has hosted the most important artists of opera and classical music. The museum is also beautiful and very impressive! At least once in a lifetime it is worth going there, a unique experience !!!

Ballet was amazing. Beautiful architecture inside the theatre. One of our seats had a very restricted view. Had to stand for most of the show. There just needs to be higher stools/chairs for people sat in the second row of the boxes.

Last night a fantastic performance by the Filarmonica della Scala, masterfully directed by Marc Albrecht in Anton Bruckner's repertoire. Bello il Te Deum But the number 4 symphony is absolutely amazing.

Most famous opera house in the world ... Extraordinary performers who have followed one another in these decades, among them Maria Callas undoubtedly deserves to be mentioned for her voice and the stage presence that charmed the audience in the hall. Certainly also those who have distinguished themselves in dance deserve a significant mention, among which a special mention concerns the prestigious career of Carla Fracci and of the greatest dancer who has performed on the stage of La Scala, who is undoubtedly the Russian Rudolf Nureyev

What show ! Unforgettable evening, prodigious staging, a perfect orchestra led by an inspired chef, it was not the greatest masterpiece of Puccini, however, Manon Lescaut will remain forever in my heart ... It was, this evening of March 27, a triumph! One small downside: the translations of the opera only appear in Italian and English. It is also surprising that the French is perfectly ignored in this city of Milan (even in large hotels) which is only a short two hours drive from France!
