Very impressive building with modern interiors and high quality productions. Events on the Theaterplatz in front of the opera (e.g. classics under the stars) are also extremely worthwhile. The underground car park always has sufficient parking spaces, the opera is also easy to reach by public transport. Every visit remains in positive memories.

Beautiful opera house with a diverse range. In principle, the acoustics are good, but the places in the first tier are ideal. Especially at pop concerts and musicals, the sound is best and the understanding is good. For operas, the German text is often faded in to read along at the top of the stage. The ranks are also worthwhile here because you don't have to lift your head too far. Drinks can be pre-ordered for breaks. An underground car park is directly below and the balcony on the first floor has a beautiful view.

Everything clean and pleasant atmosphere. You should definitely reconsider the age rating. 4-year-olds who kick seats, eat and talk all the time have taken a little fun of this beautiful ballet. Otherwise we will gladly come back.

The performance is canceled due to illness, which unfortunately can happen. But dealing with the audience is a disaster. It was only during today's visit on January 19, 2020 that I found out that the Mefistofele performance was canceled. There was no information on the homepage of the opera, no information on the Facebook page of the Chemnitz Opera and no information by email. That is not excusable, especially since I came from Berlin. Failure is better communicated at other theaters.

Chemnitz Opera House is worth a visit both for music theater and in the "Ballet" category. The "Jungle Book" was unique, high dance art, lively choreographies, expressive dance with fun and passion. Humor was not neglected either. Very nicely done. Speaks big and small The roaring applause should have been liked by the actors. Keep it up

One of the most beautiful opera houses in Germany. A very committed ensemble gave us a nice music evening on the last day before the closure, despite enormous difficulties due to Corona. Hopefully it can start again soon with culture in the European cultural capital 2025.

We have seen the opera Das Rheingold by Richard Wagner. We liked this performance very much. Now we look forward to the following three works from the Ring des Nibelungen. Impressive musical and theatrical performances will be remembered forever. Recommended for friends of classical music. The opera house in Chemnitz is always worth a visit.
