Clean big hospital, adequate help, adequate explanation about what is happening when asked. Communication between the professionals needs improvement.
Clean big hospital, adequate help, adequate explanation about what is happening when asked. Communication between the professionals needs improvement.
why do not you wear gloves in blood collection? the nurses touch the floors and their colleagues, then the same hands touch my vein when they take blood. every time I warn the nurse but no change. I'm afraid I will not come here anymore. what about infections? bacteria? and those same hands also hit patients with AIDS or other diseases.
Big compliment to nursing ward A 5 ..... The staff have been incredibly sweet right up to the last breath of my mother and have taken good care of the whole family ....... Thanks Ellen Verwoerd-Hollerman
Operated at the end of October on my scoliosis by Dr. Altena. My compliments to the entire team of orthopedics and nurses from the orthopedics nursing department! Have been here 10 days and had nothing to complain about. They are all very sweet! Nothing to complain about!
My experience with OLVG was beyond my belief. My wait time in both the waiting room and the exam room was short. Not to mention how great the service was. The staff provided excellent professional and courteous care.
Thank you very much! Everyone is so friendly and I am very thankful you are in this area to care for us when we need you. Your hours you are available are wonderful. The Doctors, nurses & staff are professional and very thorough.
Because of chronic gastrointestinal complaints repeated admission twice during the past 10 years (via SEH). Both times effectively helped, good aftercare. Providing information during and after recording is more than sufficient; questions were seriously addressed. Very friendly and professional treatment by the nursing staff. During my recording there was the choice to use internet and / or TV, also the option to purchase wifi bundle for use of own device. Very pleased with the meals served and additional dietary snacks; sufficiently tasty prepared for a hospital and choices. It was almost a shame that I was allowed to go home before I tried all the dinners. ;-)
Very unfriendly staff and had bad help with my pain (very much how you are treated here)
Friendly and skilled doctors in all areas.
Only parking is terribly expensive
As soon as I gave birth, our baby had to go to OLVG west. My partner and I experienced the way it went very badly. One moment the baby could stay in East or not, in short, very annoying.
I had surgery several times in the Prinsen canal hospital and in the OLVG and have to say 110% satisfied.
The doctor is very friendly and very competent.
I hope there is no surgery yet.
An amount of 166.92 for an intake interview of + / _ 15 min. Due to a colonoscopy !!!
I refused the colonoscopy, it also costs a lot of money!
And an hour after the examination you will be put out again half under anesthesia and stinking of the shit and see that you come home!
That costs in my case 305 Euro !!
That whole colon cancer research is just a business model, I think!
About 4 km from Amsterdam Central Station? 24 hours a day. Overseas, I rarely prescribe antibiotics like Korea. Kids drink a lot of water, take a break and consult well. If you don't have local insurance, it costs about 200 euros.
Just called to make an urgent appointment based on referral doctor. Can't be helped ... and the mrs. from the outpatient clinic can't tell me why not! Worthless care and insurance in NL.
Difficult to reach . It takes 15 minutes from the parking garage to the room where the patient is lying if you have someone with you who is difficult to walk. Nursing and Doctors okay.
Most hospitals are dreadful literally have always had problems myself both amc mca caring sint lucas slotervaart caring one more time and after this a lot at the amc fortunately received a medicine despite a wrong diagnosis which had (light) effect yes I know it purely luck but still better than alternative
Took great care of my friend who is poorly and got food poisoning ontop of a terminal illness...shame I couldn't rate the paramedics that left him collapsed on the floor unconscious even after we offered them the 700 euros that they were asking for.
The OLVG (Onze Lieve Vrouwen Gasthuis) has good specialists, it is therefore a great hospital.
However, you should not want to park there, the underground garage is always full, but do let people drive in while it is full.
The result is that you have to pay parking fees while there is no space to park your car.
Have my tonsils removed in adulthood. No fun but thanks to the good care of the OLVG it was not too bad. Got good tips about what to do and what not to do after the operation, even when I was lifted to the operating table. Got continuous ice water and the staff were very friendly. The process for the operation was also very good.
Amazing services and very friendly and helpful staff.
We were there with our son, were treated very friendly and very attentive by everyone. As luck would have it, the doctor came from Cologne. But even before that, the communication in English worked very well.
Unreserved recommendation!
Parking fee ridiculously high. You will want to visit it daily. You cost a fortune.
The world at a glance: rival doctors, drifted patients, meandering aisles through jungle of beds and stretchers, laughing children and snapped city junkies. Wonderful place.
Again bad service, desk clerk / volunteer not friendly and helpful, so you have to and you must answer that, this gives a nasty impression, said to mdw but took it stoicijns op, look for other medical center that patient first move.
Good hospital, self experience with a very good orthopedist, the parking costs are very high, hence only 3 stars.
Exceptionally performing staff. Despite the emergency surgery and all the pains, I felt very comfortable with the sisters and the doctors. Very nice atmosphere and lovely people who want the best for you and quickly made the correct diagnosis so that I could have surgery soon.
I had a good experience here. Very well organized and helpful staff. There were very little waiting times. It also doesn't look too bad on the inside, not as depressing as some hospitals can be.
Superb threatment at Emergency Unit when nearly hospitalyzed with pneumonia on april 19th 2018. Thanks to the doctors and nurses who gave me all the good care including x-ray they were able to during the six hours they kept me there my weekend in Amsterdam turned out to be a suksess thanks to you all. Respect :-)
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff in children's department. Thank you for your good care!
Great professionalism and applause to all the doctors and nurses who really have been close to me in those terrible 5 days of mine. Greetings from Sardinia.
The lady behind the radiology reception could be a bit friendlier with her show what a ...... that was say yuck
This week we had good experiences with the Cardiology / Thorax Surgery department when a family member was admitted. Very involved team of nurses and doctors.
Today I went with my friend to the ENT outpatient clinic due to circumstances we were a little late but got a comment right away! The receptionist was super unfriendly and totally didn't listen to what my friend had to say! When my friend said something about it (we talk in English) she later said loudly in Dutch that he is not being helped because he is a nuisance! My boyfriend has been waiting for this appointment for weeks and yes we were too late but that was really due to the circumstances unfortunately! I'm very disappointed ...
Since I was born here, this must be a fantastic hospital. Very nice!
My wife and I are visiting Amsterdam this week, and we had to go to hospital due to a severe anaphylactic reaction to something I ate. The medical staff of the Emergency department were brilliant. All the people taking care of me introduced themselves, and were very kind and helpful. The also made sure that I was well informed of what to expect, and that I was as comfortable as possible while waiting for the reaction to subside.
Excellent Hospital, professional staff. Keep up the good work!
Super nice hospital. Come here since my birth. The doctors are friendly and helpful. When my mother was in the hospital, they were also very understanding. Nobody wants to be in a hospital but we do have a better time with all the good experiences.
more than satisfied with this hospital. staff always attentive, planning can sometimes be better
There is an accurate response very quickly to incoming clients. Very efficient actions are taken by the nursing, care and operating team. Good explanation of the operations and good explanation during aftercare. Customer friendly. Surgeon Gerads and operating team thanks for the good care.
Kind and curteous staff of professionals that went out of their way to be helpful. We arrived at 9:15am, and we were back at our temporary home by 11:30am. Granted, they were not busy, but anyone that's ever been in an emergency room understands that the most serious and dangerous cases get priority treatment (as they should) minor injuries will ALWAYS wait. Again if you've ever been to an emergency room, you should realize that the staff that has checked you in and told you to wait CANNOT DO ANYTHING MORE. Once everyone is triage and sent in, you simply have to wait until the doctors can get to you.
I must admit, I'm a little embarrassed by some of the reviews posted by fellow Americans. Thank you OLVG.
Without consultation with me, two appointments were scheduled for investigation and a consultation on days and times when I was unable to appear. Then go and try to move it. I had to call a different number for each appointment. Neither number can be reached. You are on hold for a long time. If, after a long time, the connection is not suddenly broken, you will get someone on the phone who you want to transfer, with the same result: no answer. Nowhere on the website is it clear how you can move an appointment online. If you indicate that you can only go early or late in the morning in the morning, then it appears that the radiologists only perform examinations for a limited time of the day. In short, poor and unclear communication and hopelessly customer-friendly! I'm looking for another hospital.
Superb service for wisdom teeth removal. Pedagogic explanation before every step of the procedure, relaxed staff and good results.
I was at the art assistant orthopedics, I was outside the consultation room after a 5-8 minute conversation, only the diagnosis was communicated with the address of the podiatrist, no further information about the condition was given. Before that I received an invoice of 160 euros.
In addition, the lady from the appointment desk called me half an hour earlier for a roentgen photo, while no doctor had requested a photo. Fortunately, the lady of the Roentgen department refused to have an unnecessary photo taken. Otherwise I would have lost even more money.
Our daughter has been operated on in the OLVG East on scoliosis. She has been operated by Dr Altena and his team. We are very grateful for this perfectly executed operation and the care before and after the operation in the children's department. Thanks again OLVG !!!
A pleasant hospital that certainly has a pleasant, open look at the entrance. The same applies to the polis. Minus I personally find the inadequate hygiene, both in the room and in the toilets. This is the problem for more hospitals and is not something that doctors and nurses can do anything about. I find the care in order very well at various clinics. Also applies to emergency care / GP station, although waiting times there are very long - a few hours of waiting occurs after a first rapid screening has taken place. All in all a nice hospital with very friendly (desk) staff.
as a European national, this hospital refused to take care of me for an infected abscess ... a shame!
Avoid the dermatologist department at OLVG Oost at all costs. They are always late, their treatment made my situation only worse, and it takes them months to analyse a simple blood test. I just learned that they also failed to refer my case to AMC. What a shame.
Very clean, friendly and professional staff, so well organised.
Efficient, kind and polite service. I'm Italian and I was in Amsterdam for holidays, I gone to the OLVG Hospital for a small and not urgent problem. In one hour and half they visited me, they made analysis and give me a prescription. All for free, with the European Health Insurance Card. And, in the waiting room, coffee&tea was free.
I don't get the relatively low reviews score. I've been to the hospital on number of occasions and to number of departments, including the ER, and have always been met by the kindest and most patient staff. Can recommend.
Good hospital, family member has undergone open heart surgery here. And they can do that well.
Kwalitatief uitermate teleurstellend!
Went here as a foreigner. Was having s dental complication.. The ladies at the reception in the hospital are really nice. They could tell I was in pain, went out of their way to help me find someone who could help.
Had no way to make calls in the Netherlands, they let me use their phone, and it made all the difference.
They even found my old records from 25 yrs ago...
A nice hospital was treated very well here, aftercare is also good
I had an emergency a few hours before returning to Spain, and they treated me incredibly.
From the first moment when we arrived with the receptionist, through the nurse, then with the doctors and finally with the auxiliary staff ... they treated us quickly, professionally and humanely ... and especially with a smile !!! Thanks for everything
The last city hospital in Amsterdam. Located at the Oosterpark. Almost all medical care is available. Since the beginning of this year a robot has been put into use for the selected operations. This hospital belongs to the Santeon cooperation group. Santeon believes that the quality of hospitals in the Netherlands can be improved.
Visiting times: For visitors from afar very poorly 3.30 on a visit of 16.30 to home, they get at least an impression of the evening rush hour. We ourselves are therefore in the Ruhr area for four hours.
Rules are not being complied with, two people are allowed to visit one is reminded of this and the other is sitting five at the bedside and nobody says anything.
We are also informed that the Patient will be transferred to the Lucas hospital tomorrow if we join us the next day, it appears that the Patient is neither in the OLVG.
I've just returned from having a blood test at OLVG Oost. I have a phobia of needles so this is quite challenging for me. However, I was able to see the wonderful Natalia who was so patient with me, explained everything to me and was just generally wonderful about my needle phobia. While I hope not to have to have another blood test any time soon, if I did, I'll be straight back to see Natalia!
In the Dutch standards for healthcare - terrible. Went in with a badly sprained ankle, they did x rays 2 times but couldn't find anything (my foot was 3 times it's normal size, everyone knows that x rays on swollen bones do not show anything), I had to pay 200 Euro for a "doctor" telling me to keep my foot up and take paracetamol. I hope I will never fell seriously sick in this country. Almost forgot, I went to the hospital in my home country and they found the bone was broken.
recorded 12 1 and operated on 13 1 2017. home after 6 days after a bypass operation nothing but praise for the doctors and nursing staff Thank you all very much .
It gets really dirty. On visiting rooms so dirty for days everything is still on the floor. Nursing way too little really bad. Canteen barely getting anything at 5 p.m. In a word JAMMER. Only parking money that is not normal anymore so much would you go to another hospital.
Clean premises, with friendly, efficient, English-speaking staff. Very impressed. Hup Holland Hup!
GP post not indicated when you walk up from the parking garage.
Beautiful, clear and well-organized hospital with very friendly staff, well assisted by the dental surgeon who easily removed my wisdom teeth! Thanks for the nice surgery.
American from San Francisco living in Amsterdam for three months.I was suddenly taken ill with serious internal problems that included the loss of 1 liter of blood through hemorrhage . Ambulance, emergency room, etc.
Very professional care that reminded me of my hospital back home - Kaiser Permanete - everything is computerized, lots of nursing and physician staff, etc.
Released after 4 days at what I would consider reasonable and fair hospitalization / charges (unlike the US).
A series of bad experiences in the dermatology department. And I am used to something.
MULTIPLE times prescribed the wrong medication and / or dose.
When raising this (the first time) she had to laugh about her own "mistake". I found it a little less funny because I couldn't get out of bed for a week because of this "mistake". Even after she discovered this "mistake", she has not adjusted anything in the system, so that I still get too much of one drug and too little of the other. Long waiting times of more than an hour. and for what? You get an assistant from a student's assistant from a student and no one looks at your actual complaints. Standard protocol is run down and you feel terribly misunderstood. Even after mentioning pregnancy, again received the wrong information about what was and what was not allowed in terms of medication use. Luckily adjusted later by my doctor. This was the last straw for me. Ignorant, lazy and disinterested doctors. Terrible.
The nurses on day treatment light therapy were always very nice and cooperative. Really capable women who know how to tackle things: the arrogant, disinterested and ignorant dermatologists in the rest of the department can learn a lot from that. I do not recommend anyone to be treated here.
We were here this morning to draw blood. Even though it was Saturday morning, there were two operational service counters. Enough to serve the patients present. They were all smiles and very helpful.
Is a busy hospital just a pity that there is very little to eat for visitors and also expensive, some bright spot is that brave market is nearby for something to eat
Measurements are made with 2 measures, they say by 1 to 2 weeks And the other can stay as long as he wants
2 February 2017. Had to go for an MRI again today. But now in the Olvg east for the first time. What a nice people. It all went very smoothly.
What a bad experience you had .. bad service totally out of purpose. A whole new system must be installed here, and certainly other employees as well. Who do it with love. I'm not alone in finding this. So I would say I don't recommend this to anyone!
Very friendly staff. Smooth handling of care tasks. One of the best hospitals. If you still have to visit a hospital, this is definitely recommended
Excellent nurses and doctors, but the hospital cannot be reached by telephone. Waiting 20 minutes for an appointment is normal. The excuse is too little staff.
A great hospital with all medical disciplines. Doctors, nurses and support staff are all nice. Highlight in their staff structure are the usually somewhat older ladies who help and support you in providing great coffee and tea. Find the indispensable hospital guides. Priceless. My OLVG IS TRANSPARENT and an indispensable manual for doctors, doctors and pharmacies.
Incredibly friendly staff in the oral surgery department.
I was very nervous, but was terribly put at ease and they took their time and explained everything well. If I still had wisdom teeth I would go back here anyway.
From the front desk to the treatment room, very friendly and patient. When I continued to have pain after a few days, I called and was allowed to come in between the same day so that the surgeon could check if something was wrong.
If I misspell the name, excuse, with the exception of Deryam (?) Who took the picture of the jaw has helped me a lot and calmed me down.
I am a lot poorer, but an experience richer, it is not such a horror. THANKS!
When I was admitted I heard a blonde intern / student shout the word '' nigger '' twice to a colleague as a joke ... At the outpatient clinic young students behind the reception laughed at a foreign patient. The person was difficult to communicate because they could not speak English or Dutch well. He was therefore quickly disposed of and when he walked away it was said to each other; well many of the patients here have HIV. Had nothing to do with the situation and never heard of confidentiality? 1 euro for coffee machine ... In the Maasstad hospital it is free ... That is 1 example of how "stingy" the OLVG has become. Everywhere students / interns ... It is difficult to reach the outpatient clinics by phone ... I can mention a lot of examples why I changed hospital ... Sometimes quite serious ... Olvg was once good. In person. Human.
I have been calling the hospital since 00:30, I get a gentleman on the phone who answers the phone and says 'good morning'. The gentleman says 10x hello then I say hello back the gentleman 15x on, I call for the sixteenth time the man gets angry and says that I say hello too often and that he therefore can not mean anything to me, in the end I could have my question about my father that I could not reach for 5 hours. Next I mention the department number there the gentleman connects me to the emergency department, the lady who answers says we can not answer your question you have to call again. I call again but the gentleman keeps connecting me with the emergency room, which makes me very angry. When the hospital called again the gentleman gets angry because I react angry after having called about 20 times. And finally connect me well after hours, then I get the department 5c on the phone. My father would be operated on Saturday morning was the appointment, so did not continue. We were still in the hospital 22:00 evening and he had last eaten on Friday morning and went to sleep because of the severe pain so only woke up Saturday morning. So we asked Saturday night for the doctor who works at night or we can give food, who said no because the doctor might have been able to operate before 00:00. My mother then asked if we could bring food if the operation did not take place on Saturday evening, the lady of the night service said that she did not have to, and that she could give food to my father. But no food has been given and he has slept until half past three since we left. When we had the 5c on the line, the lady said that it is not their responsibility and that people can go for weeks without food, so we did not have to worry. 2 days without food was so normal, I spoke to that lady for an hour and she has told me so often that they do not give food because in the morning maybe he will be operated on, after an hour she has decided to discuss it. with the doctor. And he was allowed to eat?
This is not a 1/3 of the events that I can report. I doubt now how we will trust the hospital, everything that is promised is not done. The man who picks up the phone I do not want to start over. Here I see how uninterested the employees of the hospital are, I will also report this in the hospital and fill a complaint form in the hospital. If there was an option with minus stars I had checked it, because this service does not even earn that one. We live in Europe this is ridiculous !!!
I made an appointment for an operation at 13:00 of a working day. I visited the hospital on time. I was prepared for the operation. I waited for three hours and a little before the end of the sift (at 16:00) they aksed me to leave because they were back in the scedule and my operation could not be executed as the operations team's shift ended.
Had bad experience at the orthopedics department. You have an appointment with a specialist but you are helped by physican assis. Okay fine that is also studied. But then without consulting the doctor you will be sent away because the doctor could not do anything for you. And guess MRi scan is not made because it is TOO EXPENSIVE while GPs and physicians thought it was necessary. But the assistant THINKS to know where the problem lies and that can be treated at the physio. Well I don't need to know what she thinks, I have to know things for good treatment. It is a pity that the orthopedist Dr. Poolman did not come to see for himself whether a consultation with him could have been possible. Very dissatisfied and I now have to look at it for 3 months while I have been around for 1 year with complaints because an MRi is too expensive. Rotten system and then always say NL has best care. Well don't trust me anymore !!!
The ER room staff was tone-deaf to the needs of its patients and manifestly unaccomodating, to say the least.
My sister had a collapsed lung and in the completely empty (!) waiting room and needed to rest her head on the seat next to her, to relieve pressure from her chest. The ER reception yelled at her that sitting in this manner was against policy. This follows the two other times the reception has asked us to move from where we were. May I remind you this was a slow, empty Sunday morning at the OLVG. The conduct of the reception staff showed no care or concern for the patients. I understand that a hospital operates with a policy that must be upheld, but communicating this policy in such a rude uncaring manner is unacceptable.
Furthermore, there is no gender neutral bathroom option at the hospital. And the coffee is enough to hospitalize you in and of itself.
Fantastic! Last night: Had inflamed sutures in finger. Neglected because my husband has been in hospice since Friday. Was in tears and despite something like this normally nothing is for EH and big crowds first helped and so sweetly received by everyone. Thanks!!!!
At 1500 appointment, at 4.30 pm not yet to turn .. ridiculous
EXCELLENT!!!i had a EMG onderzoek on monday may 8 at 10:30 at the neurology dept. i was very nervous and scared and the 2 diagnosticians were excellent, professional, comforting and very capable.THANKYOU. so grateful for the care i receive at OLVG..please let the diagnosticians know how appreciative i am!
Last visited 20 years ago. I was not checked by the gynecologist when my wife was pregnant. She has a disability and had to have a cesarean delivery. She was then casually told: "Too bad, I don't do Caesarean sections because it suits someone better, then you shouldn't have gotten pregnant and thought better" The next time he was sweet when I went. We then looked for another gynecologist in another hospital. That man was already very old at the time, so he will no longer work there, but what a disgusting man that was.
