We used this service when I broke my knee in Cabo San lucas Mexico. They sent out their nurse (Gary) who did a fantastic job for us. He was extremely professional and made our trip very smoth geting back home. The company paid for all the expenses and we flew business class. Could not have done this without them. Will definitely keep this service it was a life saver.

My father used this service to get from Palm Desert CA. to Medford OR. My dad was in a care home and needed to get back to his home in Oregon. The assigned representatives (Rose) and the travel nurse were outstanding. Be familiar with the proper required paper work before you start. The Doctors office had to be walked through each page so it was filled out properly. Once he was cleared to travel, the nurse was fantastic and it was a first class drive and flight. My dad had nothing but positive things to say!! Thank you!!
Absolutely ridiculous. Said my Mom who broke her leg in Russia had to stay in hospital there to be covered rather than flying back to NYC. I asked the agent where she'd prefer her surgery? Really ?
Going through my old emails and came upon my interaction with this company while in Brazil a few years ago... I had one of the most frustrating and awful experiences with this insurance company. Thank goodness for good people. I hope they have improved.

On Call is a horrid nightmare. I was in a hospital in Ireland with a broken spine I suffered in a bus accident. I had to fly back to the US the day after I was discharged from the hospital. The doctor clearly said I needed to be in a reclining seat and wrote it on my discharge summary. On Call told me to pay for it myself. Three business-class seats on that aircraft went empty. Additionally, they told my insurance company they faxed the hospital to get information on my condition. I asked which number they faxed, and they gave me and my insurance provider a fake number which does not exist. I asked the hospital for their fax number, and they said they don't have fax capability. On Call did NOTHING to offer emergency assistance, then they lied about it. If you find out your travel insurance company deals with On Call, DO NOT buy that insurance. On Call is the WORST. I will be filing further formal complaints against them. If you value your life, don't use On Call.
Absolutely terrible customer service, unable to perform the simplest of tasks required of a travel insurance company. I have been trying to arrange a flight home for my mother in law that broke her wrist while on vacation in Cancun through this company for over 2 days. I have continually been transferred around, put on hold, and ignored. After being given the run around for two days asked for a supervisor and was told that I could expect a call back after they had reviewed our case. Not given any time frame for a call back and to be honest they have been rude and disrespectful throughout the entire process. Please for your own sake find a different travel insurance company. Amanda Devlin, Ashley Nault, you are absolutely terrible at your jobs.
I would recommend avoiding this emergency service and go with a more reputable one. I had a bad experience with this company while on holiday in Seychelles
On May 6, my husband was traveling alone in Michigan to visit family and friends. I was at home in Florida. He fell and fractured his hip requiring surgery the following day. I called On Call and was assigned a case number that same evening. During his surgery and follow up, I was updated by On Call and Dr Knicely of Covenant Hospital until his release from the hospital on May 11. He had to see the surgeon on May 14 for a follow up to the surgery. After that, On Call got the necessary clearance for him to be flown back to Florida with a nurse. He was picked up at the house where he was staying and brought to our door, accompanied with a very capable flight nurse. What a wonderful outcome for his accident. ON CALL INTERNATIONAL did everything they said they would do. I highly recommend their service and will continue our membership. Gwen Pahl, Lake Placid, Florida
