I love OMSI! First time I went was back in 2011/2012 when they had the Body Worlds exhibit set up there. It was FANTASTIC! So incredible to see. Another favourite is the submarine. If you can, and you're not claustrophobic, go check it out! I also really like the hologram room!

Great museum, I only wish it were bigger!!!

The volcano event needed parking and traffic directory people out. I drove around for an hour for a spot and had my spot stollen like 10 times. I finally had enough when a guy ran to my car and said flip u for it and there was a third car about to go around there car and take the spot so I took it fast and said sorry.

Beautiful location and modern building. Not a huge science museum but it did have interesting exhibits. We have been to a lot of science museums around the country. What impressed me the most was the lab where people put on googles and sat at the station they wanted to do an experiment at.

Great museum with very little to improve! The rotating main exhibits are typically really interesting, the attached food spot is was well above average, and there is a kids section that is pretty great! They could maybe throw in some seasonal activities or other incentives to keep my membership value up, though.

Used to love the place but since covid they have closed all the exhibits. It says online they are open but we went on 8-20-20 and they desk was open to tell us nothing was open and thanks for stopping by. What a waste of owning a membership!!

Definitely geared towards children. The movies are okay but the Jacques Cousteau one is very preachy. It would be nice to see oceans and fish and not just be hounded about making Waters clean. Enjoyed the planetarium. If you come be prepared for a lot of children and if it's raining realize that the zoo patrons are going to flood in

Really fun science museum in Portland. This is an especially great place to bring kids because it's very hands on and there are a lot of experiments and demonstrations to help them understand basic science.

AND even better, once a month they hold an adult only "after dark" event with alcohol and theme nights (no kiddies allowed).

My Daughter and I went to Omsi (3-21-19) a few days ago to see the new exhibits and visit the Dysney Pixar event which was very interesting. My daughter being 3 years old was having more fun climbing on Buzz light year and building robots. Over all the Pixar exhibit was definatly worth the extra money. If you want your child to get a lot of energy out the playground upstairs is definatly a great place to go! They have a huge sandbox, thousands of large lego blocks and trains and a play kitchen. There are several stations where she was able to learn about gravity and physics. Theres small library and events inside the playground all day long. Omsi also has the Planetarium and IMAX theater which are both amazing. Lets not forget about the hydro staion. There are so many things to do here that you would need a good 5 hours to enjoy it all.

The attractions change frequently, while other aspects remain constant, so you can count on learning something new while also having something familiar. Great for kids. The staff have been wonderful.

Good place for events. Located in a weird part of town and doesn't quit fit in that district but somehow feels like it belongs. I mainly use the running/walking/biking trails around there cause it makes for a nice loop using steel bridge and Hawthorne bridge to get to the waterfront on the westside of the river. And the trails by OMSI are the best part of that loop. Peaceful inside chaos is how it makes me feel.

Went on a weekday and still pretty crowded... Especially as the day wore-on: go early. The "Theory" restaurant was pretty weak/bland. There is a little table area by the movie theater and, if I were to go again, I would bring a bag lunch and eat at the table area by the theater instead.

The exhibits were, as expected, awesome. Best ages? Eight and older. Bring extra money for "beyond admission" stuff.

The movie theater (not the Planetarium) has a HUGE screen for 3D movies and they show Hollywood movies there too (Minions, etc...) and that would be cool too...

Wow, well I've taken the whole family here several times. We first did the Portland Light Show and that's what got us interested in coming back.
We then took my nieces and nephew to the Space exhibition and they were enthralled with the video of the alien looking for a suitable vacation spot in our solar system and settling on earth. There was a plot twist in the alien story when we got to the end which was actually pretty funny for me even as an adult and made it plausible that the aliens were actually taking vacations here (right under our noses, lol).
Then we did the King Tut exhibit with my two sisters and all 6 kids. Now the boys swear they're King Tut so I have to make obiesence when I get them up in the morning. I even took the kids back to the science center just two weeks ago and they played randomly for a half hour before it closed and they had fun. The only downside was the security guard trying to shoo us out at closing time. I thought they were quite rude and could have been handled much better. I won't let that detract from the fun of the day but they definitely need a refresher course on People Skills.

Good place to explore on a rainy day but overall the exhibits felt dated (it was almost the same as I remember it when I last visited over 20 years ago). Small children will enjoy the hands-on exhibits but honestly there is little here for adults to justify the hefty entrance fee. Came during the Pixar exhibit and even that was a let-down.

Great science museum for the kids. Many activities for the kids to do. We did try any of exhibits like the movie theater or the sub tour though. Those are $5/person. There was still plenty to do and learn for the kids.

Excelente place to spend the day with your kids. Lots of interesting activities to learn science, math, physics and more. A very enjoyable place for adults as well. Consider going early to avoid long lines to buy your tickets.

The eatery was very organized and staff is very efficient. Tasty food, fast service and you usually manage to find a table even when the place is busy.

OMSI is a place you can't miss when visiting Portland, OR.

One of the best science museums I have been to. They have a robot section a section that shows some dinosaur fossils cool rocks that glow and wear they come from. The have a section that shows the process of when a baby is a embryo to a full term baby. Viewer discretion is advised do to the baby's being real and preserved.
