This was my 3rd tour of the Wm Irvin and each time I learn something new. You absolutely get the feel of working on a Great Lakes ore boat because the tour pretty much cover the whole boat. My favorite part is going down into the hull where the iron ore was carried.

Ship is huge! Really fun coming from the upper midwest to see something that belongs on the ocean. Tours are "cheap" and the staff are really helpful even in a middle of a pandemic. Really interesting seeing something like this and it enters you into the downtown abliss of Duluth. Walk the pier, catch some food and find other attractions!

My family loved the ship and our tour. Jake provided us with tons of info and lots of local knowledge. We went early in the day and didn't have any lines to deal with. There is also a children's park a couple blocks away from the ship,

One of the best haunted exhibits! Our group (including a 12 and 14 y/o) really enjoyed this tour very much. A perfect balance of creepy and fun, and with the best backdrop ever... a retired Ore Ship! Hats off to the actors... they were fantastic, and funny too. The artistic work was amazing... absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the tour! Super economical entertainment for families with kids that can climb stairs. Took 4 kids including our 3 and 1 year old (in a front pack) and we managed fine. Tour guides were at certain interest points. Ask them to provide you information along the way and they have some good stories

We took our tour in the beginning of July, was a little warm for us but the tour did not disappoint. We learned a lot of interesting facts on this tour and really liked how much detail the tour guide gave.

Get ready to walk and do stairs. Fun tour. The biggest complaint is that the cargo hold is full of walls for the haunted ship, museum display and gift shop. I really wanted to get the feel for the size of the holds but you can't. Tour guide was great!

Our tour guide was fantastic and tried to engage everyone in the tour. He was knowledgeable and kept things interesting without overloading the group with information. Take good shoes with you on this tour as you go through the ship and there's a lot of steep steps.

On my most recent trip to Duluth my friend really wanted to go on the tour of this ship. We were there on a pretty hot day and while the gift shop was cooled, the rest of the ship was not, so I would suggest getting something to drink before starting the tour.

Our tour guide was pretty good, she's obviously done it a few times and was good at identifying the rooms / areas that the people didn't have much interest in or were too hot to be in for too long. It was pretty cool to see some of the inner workings of such an old ship.

If you have kids or older people with you, you need to know that there are a LOT of stairs that have low ceilings, VERY steep steps and cramped quarters. There were several children under the age of 12 on the tour we were on and of course, they are kids, but if you have a baby, which a few did, it's going to be tough. I'm 6'5" and I was able to manage, but it was a LOT of ducking.

The tour lasted about an hour and was a fun way to spend an afternoon down in Canal Park. If you are in the area and looking for some history on the Great Lakes shipping boats and all that sort of thing, this will be right up your alley.

Fun tour! The guide was uber-familiar, having served on the ship itself back in the day. Without the Guide, would def not have been as neat.

Also: went on this tour as a family: this is a family friendly tour.

When I went I had a very friendly and energetic tour guide that involved the guests and made it very engaging. The gift shop is very extensive, but Also a little pricey. Make sure to go on a Tuesday when it is cheaper! It is very cool that the museum is the boat itself. The tour takes you through the whole boat, including going outside on top of the roof! Very fun, but also lots of ladders to climb so be careful!

This is an iconic tourist attraction in Duluth. This ship was the flagship for the United States Steel company. It was built with special features like brass railings and enhancements in the engine room. It also had guest Suites up front for entertaining guests up front. I'm sure there were a lot of contract signed and customers wined and dined well cruising the great lakes in this iconic vessel.

Informative and iconic Duluth attraction! We had a great tour guide that provided fun facts and infused humor into his monologue. Some parts of the tour got a little stuffy and I don't believe this tour would be handicap accessible with all the narrow stairways. Otherwise, well worth the price for families and other visitors!

I've been going to this ship for about 10 years, and I love it every time. The tour of the ship and the history the guides tell you a lot of information about both the ship and Duluth. It's worth at least touring once if you've never been on a tour like it before. Be warned that there are some steep stair cases throughout the tour which could prove troublesome for people that have mobility problems. Its especially awesome during October because they change it into a haunted ship. They turn the inside of the ship into a haunted maze, which is a scary good time. Overall if you've never been on a great lakes ship, make sure this goes on your Duluth trip plans.
