Best zoo ever. You will want to spend all day enjoying the many sights and interactive experiences with animals from all over the world.
Best zoo ever. You will want to spend all day enjoying the many sights and interactive experiences with animals from all over the world.
Great place for the kids. Staff was awesome and treated us well.
Definitely one of the best Zoos in the country. It was a beautiful trip with my nephew and his son Waylan.
Very beautiful and open, my only thing was some animals just had the names and no information and I'm definitely an information reader so I was a lil bit bummed but other then that, pretty amazing
Lovely! The indoor desert was spectacular! And the aquarium was absolutely lovely, the entire Zoo is enormous!
Food way to expensive. Sting-rays were cool but should NOT have to pay $4.00 a person to touch them. PLUS $1.50 for food to feed them. Once you're in the zoo you should be able to put your wallet away and enjoy what you paid for to enjoy.
Beautiful zoo, very big with a lot of animals to see. Those mist sprinklers saved my life because I went there on probably the hottest day of the year hahahaha. Great place for whole family...
We have made this zoo a yearly family tradition from South Dakota. Best exhibits and education and animals in the country! Do not miss out on this zoo if you are in the area!
It's the most amazing zoo I've ever been to! Animals all in natural, large habitats. They are also lively and seem very happy and well cared for. I could go back there a thousand times and not be bored. Most zoos I've been to animals look so depressed and don't even move around.
Absolutely amazing. Incredible variety of animals, all well-kept and in interesting enclosures. As much as I love the San Diego Zoo, the Omaha zoo was a much more enjoyable experience. Many of the animals were kept in indoor enclosures which emulated habitats true to the animals' native homes.
We have a world class zoo here in Nebraska. Second to none! It is always an awesome time going there. Great place for all ages.
Best military membership rate ever! Whole family for $86 for a yr, includes imax tickets. Worth it!!!
I have been coming to the zoo for the past 20 plus years and each experience is always something different. My favorite part is the aquarium.I'm so happy that they brought the elephant's back and it's even more than it was before. The African grasslands makes me feel like I'm actually in Africa. Way2go Omaha
We did the Henry Doorly Zoo as part of our 1st Annual Family Reunion.
All 26 of us had a blast!
Great place for families to spend the day. Exhibits are well designed.
They also are available for group events.
This zoo is one of the all time best! My one year old son was is awe of everything, especially the aquarium. My 2 year old nephew had a blast. We went on a hot day, but the different buildings allow you to cool down throughout the park. The splash pad is a great addition. Beat part is... you can take in water and food! We packed a picnic and ate in the park. Amazing experience, and can't wait to go back.
I absolutely loved it! It is always fun. There is so much to do. If you're ever bored here, then there is something wrong with you. Plenty of places to stop and rest
I went with my 5yr old little girl and my 53yr old dad both loved the new play area membership are worth getting for a family don't have to be tired or in a hurry and can go as many times as we please
This zoo is awesome! It's about $22 for adults but its worth it. The exhibits are elaborate recreations of natural habitats. There are so many animals to see and unique areas of the zoo to explore. The dome near the entrance that looks like Epcot is far bigger than it looks from the outside. Once you walk around the first level it keeps going lower and lower with a maze of exhibits inside. There are some water misting stations throughout the park to cool off from the heat. If you take the Skyfari ride you get the best views of the Lions.
One of the best zoo's. Lots of attractions and more is being added. Being from around here, I am lucky enough to be able to visit the zoo several times a year and it never gets old.
Phenomenal experience!! Although we were here on a colder day there was still lots to see.
Nice new additions open now. Lot of fun seeing the animals as always.
Would be better during the week. Didn't get to see much due to lines for everything. Felt like a waste of a trip and money. I would recommend going during the week, avoid weekends.
The best zoo in the world. Every exhibit had very well done info placards. The prices were quite reasonable as well.
We love this zoo and they keep adding more exhibits so there is always something new
Awesome place to take the family! I took my daughter there. Thought we'd be there for an hour or two...seven hours later and a handful of amazing memories. It's a must go!
An amazing variety of animals both common and uncommon. Many of the exhibits are impressive in their scope and detail when attempting to emulate the natural habitats. Those that are less impressive seem to be next in line for an upgrade. The aquarium section was awesome, with many fishes I haven't even seen at larger aquariums. The zoo is also well-organized, easy to get from exhibit to exhibit without having to constantly backtrack. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Due to construction it was hard to find the paths to certain exhibits but it's always a fun experience. Be warned however there is normally quiet a bit of people to be prepared for crowds and sometimes lines.
Arguably the best zoo in the country. Super, high-quality exhibits. Food service personnel could use some extra training to prepare and fulfil orders more quickly. But that's a minor gripe - you'll have a great time!
Beautifully kept up, lots of shady spots, and many attractions. The heat kept many animals in today but we still saw a lot.
Amazing experience! So much to do for kids and adults. Don't miss the walk through aquarium or the indoor Rainforest...... There's also an indoor desert. So cool!
We love this zoo! Its better than so many other places. And there's always something to do!
Amazing zoo! We didn't get through hardly any exhibits before naptime. But the exhibits here are great and he attractions for children are even better
Best zoo I have ever been to. You can easily spend a day and a half seeing all of the animals.
This zoo is claimed to be the best ? I couldn't tell. Is the Zoo under construction? We seen nothing but dirt piles. I paid 65.00 for nothing. I"ve been robbed..St. Louis. Is waaay better and free
You can definitely spend all day here and learn a ton about all the animals. The fun facts are easy to ready and simple enough for kids to understand. All the workers seem like they truly love the animals and are prideful of their job.
The zoo is a bit unorganized. It's okay. During the summer it's extremely crowded. I recommend going during the off season when it's less congested an cooler months. Some of the staff were disrespectful. They were young teen or young adult, so I'm going to assume it was partially the maturity level and able to correct through training.
The open area visiting the animals in the Savannah is quite a hike and a steep incline, so if your pushing babies or wheel chairs keep in mind you will get a bit of a work out. During the summer bring canteen to keep you and your young ones hydrated to prevent heat stroke, or just go during a cooler time.
Good zoo and exhibits, innovative touches like the Skyfari. Some of the staff are very engaging and interested in seeing you have a great experience, a few aren't. Deluxe nachos were tasty and a light meal for two. Worth the drive from just about anywhere, still a top-notch zoo.
Massive zoo with fantastic exhibits! The layout was intuitive, so we were never lost and never had to double back. If you have kids with you, it would be very difficult to see everything in one day because this place is so big. In a group of adults meandering through and taking pictures, we saw everything (except the shows) in about 6 hours. We went in early spring and it was very crowded in a few areas. I think that speaks to how awesome this zoo is - everyone braved the cold all day, and even during an off-peak time it was busy (but not crazy). Great place, will definitely return!
Having one of the best zoo's in the world right in our backyard is a luxury that often gets taken for granted. Henry Doorly Zoo not only has some of the best animal exhibits with the new panda area, redesigned elephant habitat, and the famous aquarium with the walk through tunnel, but there are many other attractions that are fun for the whole family, like the man splash pads, train ride, and much more! Whether you currently live in the Omaha metro, are just passing through, or are planning your next vacation, the Henry Doorly Zoo should definitely be on your list to visit.
This really is the best zoo in the world. By far the best zoo I have ever been to. Ticket prices were absolutely reasonable. They had an extensive amount of exhibits and we were able to see animals from every continent. They had several shows and demonstrations, which were well spaced time wise, allowing us to see many of them. There weren't vendors pushing merchandise, and our was a great experience. Highly recommend going on a week day, as the crowds are minimal,.
This place is enormous. I spent five hours here multiple times and it seems like I've only seen about half of it. That being said, I'm a 'slow' zoo and museum-goer. I like to take my time and really reflect on and experience each exhibit. The variety is impressive here. I would say that it's comparable to the North Carolina Zoo in quality but very different in style. Whereas the North Carolina Zoo is fluid and organic in design, with the design of the zoo blending into the surrounding woods and habitat, the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo is almost colorful and almost corporate by comparison. It has more of the feel of a circus festival whereas the NC zoo makes you feel like you are hiking through the woods 'discovering' the flora and fauna.
What an adventure. Allow a minimum of one day great place
Alot of construction. Alot of empty structures and cages.
Amazing place for a family vacation. Everything was fun. The food and drinks were a bit pricy. But overall everything was super fun.
Very family friendly and a great little hike with interesting attractions. Would visit again
Awesome place to see, super high prices so I would bring lunch in with me, and avoid the domes before 1 pm because they are always super packed full of people. The enclosures are really well done and the animals are awesome to see.
We are members and just love our zoo days. Colder days are perfect with smaller crowds yet enough indoor attractions for the littles to burn off some energy. They also have indoor eating available.
Pricey, but there is so much to see and do. Really need more then a day to walk threw and enjoy everything.
I just had 90 minutes before the zoo closed, but I got to ser everything I wanted. It is an awesome zoo and aquarium.
This is a great place to visit. Make sure to plan for extra time as there is so much to see.
We took a trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and had a blast! We felt like we visited many different countries and learned about so many animals we didn't even know existed while being only feet away from them! We can definitely see why it's rated the best zoo in the world. If you visit Omaha, the zoo is a must see and is definitely worth the trip here for. We were so impressed we bought a yearly family membership (friends and family if you come to visit us, we're going!!) Hands down BEST date day ever!
Nice. The aquarium and butterfly house were the best. The Knoght exhibit was ok, but too difficult to see most of the animals plus very crowded. Several exhibits were difficult to get through in my wheelchair. Lots of construction going on. Not alot of food options.
Even with a lot of the indoor exhibits closed it was still a good day!!
I wish that the elephants and monkeys were out already but Mother Nature has not cooperated in making that able to happen. This is the best zoo ever.
Terrific! Fun for everyone. Nice lemur displays. Nice food choices. Wheelchair and scooter prices seem high. It has some hills and slopes to navigate. Recommended.
Beautiful and so much to see. You can't get through it all in one day, so do your research ahead of time. As of July 2019, renovations are being done to the food area outside of the aquarium, so the wait to get into the aquarium can be long. Children's play area and splash park are fantastic.
Never a disappointment. Always something new to go see. Constructions a bummer but its always worth it.
One of the best zoos I've ever been to. It's a great place to take your kids and have a wonderful day.
Best zoo in the world. The aquarium is fantastic. The newer features include, a huge play area with a creek you can play in, a giant splash pad, and the African Grasslands. We have a yearly membership that allows us to go all year!
One of the Midwest Marvels. A self-contained safari. An oasis of wonder. The dedicated staff here have produced a world-class bastion of learning, and conservationism.
One of the best zoos in the world. Varieties of species.
Amazing zoo and hospitality! We drive 6 hours every other year because its so much fun. Beatiful animals and clean. Plus the splash pad is an added bonus... also you can bring in your own lunch and water bottles :)
Changed a lot since I was there as a kid but still an amazing place, whole family thourghly enjoyed it.
Beautiful zoo. Well planned. Make sure you take some snacks and water because you'll be walking a lot. One of the better zoos in the country. Enjoy!
Always something to see at the zoo. Great for the family and you can make a whole day out of it. Bring your own food and walk all day.
Always a great time any time of the year, snowy days are awesome because you have the zoo to yourself! Feeding the manta rays is pricey but was a really unique and memorable event for our family.
The Best Zoo in the World! Not the biggest but so well put together
Best Zoo in the world! Every year it gets bigger and bigger!
It's always an amazing adventure and I always see something that I have never seen and the staff are very helpful and informative can't wait till they open all the attentions if you ever have a chance to visit I promise the memory will be one you will never forget
Our family REALLY enjoyed our time at the zoo. If you haven't been there in awhile, there are so many new attractions.
Always expanding & improving to create immersive animal habitats (not just animal cages/containers/enclosures).
Not impressed. Lots of obstruction in the way of seeing animals forcing visitors to ride the chair lift or train which was not working. Indoor exhibits were good. No food vendors open but 1 ice cream truck with hotdogs that took over 27 minutes to cook.
Amazing experience. I tend to visit differents aquariums and zoo and this one was another experience. Thw fact that they have the diferente eco systems in diferents buildings its amazing. The only complaint it's that I went in December and all the african-savana animals were not able for display. Other than that its an amazing zoo and aquiarium. Its a worthy visit.
The Henry Doorly Zoo is so fun. They are always building or remodeling something. Making new attractions so the zoo is never boring. There is multiple places for kids to have fun, including a tree big playground and a nicely sized splash park.
**CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19**
Several exhibits we're closed due to COVID but overall it was a great experience. We especially enjoyed the Desert Dome!
Love this place great prices in gift shop and on food and not as long of a walk from animal to animal as some other zoos
Weren't as many animals as i was expecting, and the food and drink were a bit expensive, but overall an ok place. Bring your best pair of walking shoes!
Great time had by all. It will give you a good cardio work out. Loved the exhibits.
We had a fantastic time! The zoo was wonderful and the employees were nice. My favorite part was the aquarium. I would definitely bring my family back.
I had to subtract a star because I'm a pumping mom. Please add more nursing/pumping stations. I didn't get to use the one you all have because it was too far away and I became engorged and it discouraged me from pumping.
Biggest zoo you will ever visit. Just couldn't give it 5 stars. The Silverback gorillas are super depressed though
Kids liked it. Was disappointed for what you pay to get in, you have to pay extra for the skylift, the string ray beach, the tram. Food and drinks are pricy. But if you want to lug a cooler you can bring that in.
I've been coming to this zoo for years! With the world's largest indoor desert dome it's top notch and yes it's in Nebraska! Rated one of the best in this United States. Come see why!! remember good quality customer service? They got it here all day long! 160 acres of fun for the family!! And handicapped accessible all the way. Electric carts, strollers and wheelchairs all available! Very clean bathrooms with lots of them throughout along with restaurants and water bottle refills. Feel free to bring your own picnic basket full of goodies from home. I would actually suggest it just to avoid long lines at the food venues.
Worthwhile to visit. Might take several trips before you can see everything with the kids.
A great place to visit even in the winter time. I spent hours here and only a fraction of the zoo was open due to the season. A wide variety and representation of the animal kingdom.
This has to be the largest, most interesting zoo we have ever seen. The walking paths are easy to navigate and the exhibits are very nice. What an amazing collection of animals! Great place to bring kids. Lots of walking involved, so plan ahead. There are water features along the walkway to help with the summer heat.
This is a beautiful zoo how ever it is also very expensive the zoo has wonderful charm and character but it is very difficult for any handicap to enjoy it the hills are challenging $6 for railroad train the doesn't last 10 minutes Any peers that everyone working there is friendly and courteous with a smile and it is very clean for a zoo
We get a zoo pass every year because we don't live too far away. If my kids are bored and I don't have money to take them somewhere Bam, we can hit the zoo. I love the play place and it has a splash pad.
We try to go every year. The kids just love this place.
We love this zoo. It has a wide variety of animals and they are expanding. Awesome trip.
