I often go to The Oliver Plunkett for my coffees on my days off, I love the outside terrace and the upstairs smoking area (ideal place to go if it's raining, and it's almost always raining in Ireland). The staff is lovely, and Ella is the best barista you could ask for, always happy and positive, and she makes the loveliest coffee ever. Never tried any of the food, so I can't say anything on that, but even just the coffee (and lovely staff) are enough of a reason for me to keep coming back.

Loved the atmosphere here. Friendly and helpful staff made the experience even better. Large pub with 2 floors an on each floor at night you can see the live music. Smoking room at the second floor is warm with a nice fireplace and a dedicated beer and drink countertop. Really loved yesterday s ought show with the Kesh that performed a mix of typical Irish songs and rearranged in Irish style of famous songs

I hate giving bad reviews... But I have actually given this place several chances and it has always let us down! First of all the place is over priced, it was 5.40 for a pint of smithwicks and that is nearly the same price I paid last time I was in Temple Bar. Another day my glass was filthy!
Secondly the staff are just not on the ball at all. This time I waited and waited to be served at a quiet time of day while 3 staff chatted behind the bar and then served someone who had just walked up to the bar instead of those obviously waiting. Another day we couldn't get a waitress because she was chatting to her friends. This has happened a few times in here.
Also a serious lack of atmosphere here, just can't recommend it.

Except now because the covid rules our table was asked for finish or still at least make new orders for drink or food. Except that was ok for the food, but the crab cake doesn't have too much crab meat inside, is a bit disappointed.
Anyway the others dishes in the table was really nice.
And have sanitizers in every table, all the rules for distance was respected.

Super.

Nice setting. Friendly staff and good selection of drinks. Lively pub with music later in evening. Toilets could do with regular cleaning though, they are small and there was a lot of water on the floor.

Food is an absolute give stars! It can take a while to get a table though, but accept that wait, it's absolutely worth it. Good for drinks, good live music, can be a bit loud and crowded.

Beautiful setting the pub is very quaint, the food is good although not exceptional only sins the fact that to listen to live music on the top floor forces you to a fixed price menu, however it is a recommended place

Come travel the Cork Whiskey Way. Pull a chair at The Oliver Plunkett to a fine tasty beverage and warm up to some local Irish music and sing along. Too loud for ya, well, just head upstairs and cozy up to a smaller intimate place.

Arrived for Sunday lunch before Xmas, they had just started there menu. I had fish and chips, the fish was soaked in OIL, and the fries were supposed to be hand cut but resembled Macdonalds fries. Very disappointed from such an iconic music venue. MY partners lunch was also dissapointing.

We had a lot of fun here when visiting Cork. Definitely a bit of a tourist spot, at least upstairs (the musician asked everyone where they were from and everyone was European Canadian or american), but it was a lot of fun. The guys playing music were talented and very entertaining, messing with the crowd a bit a mingling with crowd while playing. Every other song was a traditional tune. The others were a take on something more contemporary. We had pita and dip to start, cottage pie for a meal, and stout cake and Bailey's cream cheese cake for dessert. Delicious!
