Old South Restaurant Review

Always a friendly staff, wonderful service, and the southern home-cooked meals are delicious! A great piece of Route 64 and Russellville history!

Kristin, the waitress was extremely pleasant in all aspects. The food was great, as always from the Old South.

I had the best country fried pork chop with green beans mash potatoes peppered gravy in the Old South Restaurant for a late lunch Thank You Lord for good cooks.

Breakfast done right. Midway through breakfast on Tuesday we had planned our breakfast for Wednesday.

Great food, large portions and excellent prices. When I want southern home cooked flavor, this is the first choice.

They have a prime rib special on Friday and Saturday night. Excellent breakfast too .

We enjoyed our visit here. It reminded me of days of yore. They were packed with people but there was no wait. Food was good but not excellent....but then that all depends on what you order, so go with an open mind. It was pouring rain so I captured no photos.

I went to get pie. It took them quite some time to locate my ordered in advance pie, but none the less it was pretty good.

Very good food! Service was very good also. Ambiance was a flashback.

Ordered the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes as takeout, got to the hotel, and there s no gravy. I hope it was just an oversight because who serves chicken fried steak without gravy? It was pretty dry and sad. Two stars because my wife said her fried green tomato BLT was good.

Built in 1947 as a Restaurant for Woody's Motel . Home Cooking and VERY Fair Prices. Enjoyed Dinner Friday Night March 9 2021 and Breakfast March 10 2021. Very Enjoyable meals. It has been on My Bucket List since 1973. Glad I finally made it!!!

The owner and staff are very attentive and service and food excellent!

Good old fashioned comfort food. Have not had a bad meal here. Family owned and you can tell the care about their customers and quality of food. Be prepared to leave wanting a nap.

For being a historic restaurant it was ok the mashed potatoes were instant that was kind of disappointing but the meatloaf was really good

Old south is great breakfast food! The staff there are always so friendly. I have been each time I have visited Arkansas.

The service was good but food was hard to stomach. Great atmosphere. Our waitress, Sue, was wonderful but food was ugh.

Wonderful place for breakfast! We were passing though town on a Saturday, when we stopped at this place. We are a "breakfast" family & my husband often checks other GoogleMaps ratings to see where we want to eat. This was a winner. Food was tasty, very reasonably priced, fast as there were many people eating or waiting to be seated. Rachel was our server & did a GREAT job! This restaurant's high score is well deserved.

Ordered the mushroom swiss burger and fries. The burger was dry. My toppings of mushrooms and onion were on a tiny pile center of the dry patty. I never found the cheese. The fries were fries.

Haven't been in a year. Ready for Old South Salad and Dressing.

We where in town for a half marathon this place definitely did not disappoint us the food and service was amazing we had never heard of possum pie but it was delicious we ate there 3 times on our stay

Place is a mainstay of the Russellville experience. They ditched the masks. No communication hassles and the food as always is spot on excellent. Wait staff are friendly. Its like stepping back to 2019!!!

Service Dogs are NOT welcome and we felt harassed by Management for having our legal, licensed service dog with us. No matter how good the food when staff makes you feel unwelcome it isn't worth it.

Prime rib was excellent! Staff was friendly, nice cozy place. Only negative was my kids cheeseburger was dry.

Love the Old South. This restaurant is filled with warm memories and food is always delicious.
