Beans are made from scratch but not the potatoes or gravy. So I had a baked potato but it tasted old. The catfish seemed a little undercooked. Service is good and the manager seemed like an honest, good guy. I would give it another chance. The breakfast I had there once was good.

The Old South is sort of an icon in Rsvl. They have excellent food. I especially like their bacon and build your own omelettes. Yum! Wish I was there now! All the staff are just incredible.

I ate here today and the food was good. My only complaint is the fact that i was sweating during the entire meal. I never felt any air conditioning. Could have been better, I feel sorry for the cooks that have to work behind the scenes. Must be even worse in the kitchen.

I was passing through town and saw this place, just had to stop. I'm a sucker for a place with a lunch counter.
I walked in and out felt like I went back to the sixties. The decor is out of a bye gone era.
I was greeted by a waitress that didn't write anything down and nailed my order, my coffee never got warm and was kept full.
The food was a traditional breakfast. Eggs were perfect, sausage was excellent and biscuits were excellent. Price was cheaper than I thought.
I read where this place is on the national register and I couldn't be happier, we need more places like this.
