Going to the dentist always made me nervous. But Total Health Dental Care no fear, I actually look forward to going. I know my family will receive grade A care. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this office to EVERYONE.

This is the best dental care in the world! Everyone here is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was anxious about getting my teeth examined but Carolina put me at ease. Dr. Hokmabadi examined my teeth and gave me plenty of recommendations to help keep my gums healthy. The best part is that they have a program for people without insurance to make payment manageable and more affordable. Thanks total health dental for the best dental visit ever! I'll be coming back here again soon.

I had a horrible tooth ache. They took me same day and sent me to a specialist same day. More importantly, I never felt like they were trying to sell me a plan or take my money. They were amazing. I am for sure switching from my Dentist to Dr. Pacheco. :)

This place is exactly as their name implies, Total Health Dental Care. Very professional and engaging staff, especially JJ/Reception and Lana the Office Mgr. The place does not look, or smell, like your typical medical office. I was seen by two dentist, and they both easily answered my concerns, and put me on a path to eliminate my tooth pain.

I am more than happy with the cleaning procedure I had with dental hyginiest whose name is Austin.

Their staff is extremely professional and helpful. They happily answered all my questions and recommended a lot of useful products based on my needs (gum recession and tarter build up).

I hadn t been to the dentist in about 2 years and they found 4 cavities and told me I would need a crown. My insurance was expiring soon and they worked with me to get everything urgent taken care of before that happened. On my next visit they found another cavity while repairing one and told me I would now need 2 crowns. It sounds like a nightmare but this was hands down the BEST dental experience I have ever had. I didn t feel any pain or discomfort and they made sure to check in with me periodically. I had 2 temporary crowns for about a week and then came in for my porcelain crowns (they feel great/natural).

I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking dental work!!

Just had my first visit to Total Health Dental and it was very nice. I had to wait ~25 mins in between exam and cleaning, but the hygienist Susan was super nice and had great advice for future dental care. Overall, a really nice experience.

My 1st time here found this office on a fluke. I was looking for my old dentist and found their office. Contacted the office yesterday received appointment today.
This office is state of the art. Ashley took ex rays everything Digital. Thanks Ashley. Dentist came in excellent patient care.

I had a tooth break off and was in a lot of pain due to infection. Total Health Dental took me in right away as a new patient and fixed the tooth right away. The staff is super pleasant and knowledgeable. They made my experience easier, especially dealing with scary and painful things like a tooth infection. They also communicate often with patients and get you seen right away.

Very kind people, gentle and respectful. Knowledge folks there. Seems honest. If you can afford it, seems like an awesome place.

Really clean office, super nice staff. Plus lots of other bonuses. There are limited hours for the massages and such so I haven t been able to take those up. Main reason for four stars is I feel like every time I go I get told something different about how I should be caring for my teeth. That gets frustrating when I feel like I

Really amazing experience. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding. I told them I was losing my insurance and I had to get to my job afterwards. They did everything they could to be quick and work with my limitations. Definitely the place I'm returning to.

Austin was my hygienist today. This was a really good experience. Very different than the typical terror and shaming you feel. It felt very personal and informative. Like how spa technicians are. Highly recommend this one.

I'm a big wimp when it comes to dentists. What drew me to THDC was the option of sedation, which made it so much easier to face the work that needed to be done. They are so good, that I don't even bother with sedation any more....but it's there nonetheless - just in case.

Just had my first experience with this holistic dental office and it was great. I ve been neglecting my teeth for awhile and all the technicians made my experience easy and painless. They definitely made a long term patient out of me!

This is a great dental office! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Each procedure is done with care and attention and I always feel comfortable asking questions.

Great overall service. I always question them when they find something wrong, and they almost always explain the pros and cons of a procedure. Answering all questions so i don't really feel pressured...

This place is super relaxing, the spa-like atmosphere makes dentistry totally bearable. The staff are all really helpful and friendly, and they offer a variety of additional services like massage, acupuncture and nutritional counseling, which I haven't tried yet but am signed up for. All in all, a really nice place to keep your mouth clean!

... if not better. There's new equipment, text messages to remind you of upcoming appointments, and -- after about a year of changing faces -- what looks like a stable and well-qualified staff.

I had two crowns done this morning. No pain. Not that it was a pleasant experience, but Dr. Hokmabadi is a master of Novocaine, and of follow-up -- he called around 5:00 p.m. to see how I was doing.

The new hygienist has revolutionized the way I take care of my teeth, and I will probably need fewer fillings and crowns thanks to her.

This guy is good. He's sharp, engaged with his profession, and putting a lot of energy into making his practice one of the best.

Always feel very welcomed when I come to the dentist and they have made the dental process easy again. I had a long break from going to the dentist and they have worked with me and been very patient to get my teeth healthy again. Definitely recommend. They also offer complimentary massages and that was great.

Update: Still feel very welcomed and encouraged when coming into the office. I recently saw Austin for my cleaning and also a deep cleaning. He is very knowledgeable and helpful, taking me step by step through the process and cleaning. Definitely recommend. Esme, Annabelle, and Doctor Pacheco have been very helpful in the past as well.

I loved my experience here. They re very kind and listened to what my concerns were and all of my questions. They took great care of my three year old and made her feel so comfortable and she had so much fun. I enjoyed the atmosphere and comfort I felt as soon as I walked in.

This was my first visit at this office. The decor and music playing in the speakers is not only pleasant but soothing and relaxing. I had Austin as my dental hygienist and I could not have been in better hands. He is funny, courteous, and very skilled - and probably the best hygienist I've ever had. I'd want him on each of my visits. Great place, highly recommended.

UPDATE:

I went back to this office for a more in depth procedure today. I needed an extraction and a bone graft.

Dr. Marre, and his assistant, Monica, were the dynamic duo who treated me.

I was super nervous, as one can imagine, yet, Dr. Marre, with his energetic and friendly personality, along with his passion for his craft and his masterful skillset, put me at ease.

Monica, the dental professional who assists the dentists with more intricate procedures, is always pleasant, friendly, steady, and very helpful; she's helped me previously.

The procedure went far better than I could have imagined and took way less time than I thought it would.

Frankly, this visit was one of the best dental experiences I've ever had, and I would want both Dr. Marre and Monica to be the two who do any future procedures I may need.

I really "lucked" up with Dr. Marre and Monica.

Best Dentist. Friendly, incredibly clean and organized, well lit, beautiful and comfortable space, phone call, text, and email reminders for appointments, parking validation, modern equipment, comprehensive compassionate care, and complimentary massage. As far as the dentist goes, it does not get better than this place.

I saw Dr Lima and her assistant Esme, and I had the best experience I ve ever had at a doctors office. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I felt completely taken care of. The doctor really made a point of prioritizing my comfort, and really accommodated my fear of seeing the dentist.

I recently moved to the Bay Area and was looking for a new dentist. I m so lucky I found Total Health the entire staff is a true delight and they truly make going to the dentist a stress feee experience.

Really organized and clean Dental Office. Austin I've had for my last 2 cleanings and been really excellent in the service. Will definitely return and recommend for others. The office is also right next to multiple bus lines and down the street from 12th Street BART, so have multiple ways to get here which is a plus.

Great experience at Total Health Dental, Old Oakland! No waiting, I arrived early and they were ready! All precautions for Covid are taken, felt very safe! My hygienist, Austin, was very helpful and informative with all of the steps! Very happy I made the switch!

The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Mariana who gave me a tour during my first visit and explained all the services offered by THDC.

I've been coming here for over a decade and now it's managed by Total Health Dental Care. High tech, awesome staff, great experience.

Our experience with Total Health Dental Care as new patients had been just unacceptable. Here's why:

I. "All in One Roof Dental Health Claim"

Right from the start, we have to go to multiple clinics:

- Welcome Center for X-rays, Virtual Dental Evaluation
- Old Oakland for Cleaning/Crown/Filling
- Emeryville for Root Canal

II. "Not Covid-19 Ready "

-Unnecessary Multiple Exposures from 3 different clinics; If you have an underlying conditions, then good luck;

-Emeryville patient exam rooms are too close to each other;

-Old Oakland (Have to Use Hands to Pull Doors -Main Building Door & Bathroom Doors)

-Old Oakland front desk tends to get busy and packed. No social distancing observation;

III. Communication:

-Failure of communication amongst the 3 offices in terms of treatment plan, diagnosis, appointments and billing;

-Multiple unnecessary text/SMS messages for appointments, and appointments confirmation.
( i.e. Received Over 20 texts in 2 weeks; Text appointment confirmation does not even have the date and time and location of the appointments);

-These issues were brought up at the Welcome Center, Emeryville and Oakland and all they said is that it will be brought up to the management team and that we will get a call from the Regional Manager Melissa but never did. She only called us after we have already complained directly to Dr. Pacheco about what's been happening.

-Called to opt out of Phone and Text and still got Phone Reminder as of 09.28 for 09.29 appointment;

IV. Scheduling Issues:

-We were told later that Root Canal+Crown+Filling could have been scheduled at the same day and same location; Again, this was one of those communication issues;

-Call Center team (Alexis) and Front Desk (Angelique) insisted on their personal opinions on what treatment you should be doing and coming for even though it was different from what Dr. Pacheco has advised us what to do.

V. Billing

-Incorrectly charged my spouse with treatment (didn't need a filling yet, the bill has filling charge)

"It's up to you if you want to pay tomorrow but you won't get the 5% prepayment discount per Alyssa/Alexis?" Our reason for the call was to get the 5% discount to begin with.

Old Oakland Front Desk told us that my spouse maxed out of insurance for a crown when our insurance has $1500 annual benefits and that Phase 1 of treatment has used $600+ Phase 2 has used $500. We should have another $400 since there's no dental treatments done prior to these;

Should have been better explained as "We cannot apply remaining benefits until after Metlife processed your Phase 1 and Phase 2 treatments first. You can prepay now and we will credit you after ..."

Between my spouse and I we paid close to $8K in less than 3 weeks.

Total Health is pricey.

VI. Holistic?

Apart from the Dr. H & Co. mouthwash, THD seems just like any other dental offices. The promised of whole person practice isn t really true and misleading.

Same Day Crown is amazing;

Hygienist Gladys of Old Oakland is super friendly And thorough with cleaning.

Dr. Amanda of Emeryville is good.
