This place has excellent seafood and their service is usually top notch. This is our place to go on vacation every year. The bartender we had tonight is beyond rude. If I owned this place, she would never wait on my customers. I witnessed her cuss out kitchen staff, yell when she didnt get her way. I had the feeling from second one that I was putting her out. I will be back and hope that she isnt our bartender.

Great food and service UNTIL my wife and I were asked to leave because they needed seating. Been in the food industry and that's NOT how you handle things. Would've given 5 stars, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth, especially considering we'd just spent $80 on their food. The food was beyond excellent, so was the service. I just found it rude and disrespectful that you would ask 2 paying customers to leave who had actually enjoyed their dining experience in a different city.

The service was great as was the bloody Mary. Went there for lunch to try out a new place. I had the oyster Po boy. Bread was not fresh, the oysters were okay but not a very tasty sandwich especially for the price. My buddy has the fish and scallops which were okay but definitely not worth the price.
Overall, for the money, I would recommend going somewhere else for seafood lunch.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch with our daughters, we ordered the crawfish and gumbo as an appetizer. The crawfish was probably the nastiest crawfish we have had, very plain and no flavor. Most of the crawfish were dead before being cooked (based on the tails). The gumbo was no different, bland, way to thick, little meat just plain gross. To top things off my husband ordered the shrimp basket as well as my kids, I ordered the hot wings. The shrimp basket had very little shrimp for the whopping $18 they charge. Again no flavor. The hot wings had no sauce and tasted like rubber. I ate only 4 and was done. The waitress came to the table only 3 times max leaving us to ask another waitress for help when it was needed. If your looking for nasty over priced food and bad service you got it "off the hook" is your stop. We would HIGHLY recommend BJ'S FISH CAMP for some amazing fish only a few miles down the road. As for crawfish and gumbo, we will be sticking with Craw Daddys in Shreveport, LA.

Update: we still have not revisited and don t plan to! Every time we are in town we and drive past this place, we are reminded about how nasty the food was as well as the service being terrible! Definitely not a great impression seeing it s been almost 3 years and we still remember it fresh in our minds!

My first time going there was yesterday and I sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely professional and sweet and made me feel right at home. She constantly stayed on top of things. I had two dozen of steam Texan oysters which were delicious! I do plan to go back before I leave.

We have spent 3 days at New Smyrna and have found the food to be mediocre until off the hook... When you are here, this is the place to get excellent service, food and drinks. Believe me, my wife and I (we are foodies) love good food... This is the freshest seafood on the Florida coast. The owner was coaching his team as we ate!!!

Alright the wait was atrocious took 10-15 min, than took 30-40 min to wait for the "food" to come out, and don't get me started about the food it was soggy and gross. Ps don't come here!!!!!

We came back after the hurricane for the first time & what a dissapointment!! My wife wanted to order the cod fish on a Friday evening at 5:30 & they were out??? On Labor day weekend, are you kidding me!! Had nothing to offer in it's place except fish that was twice to three times the cost! Come on manager! Do a better job on inventory!! No reason to run out! For cripes sake you are in Florida! Terrible greasy Fry's & you could improve the cole slaw! Disappointed that the sovenier shop is no more.

We went on a Sunday at 3pm. It wasn't busy. The first thing I noticed is the AC needs to be adjusted as it was very warm. 2nd thing the Latina hostess with huge eyelashes watched my father hobble his way in on crutches we asked for a table and she let us know she needed to clean one off. She had no sense of urgency in cleaning and then stopped and chatted with a boy she recognized at a nearby table as we waited, stopping in between wiping to walk over to him. I think this was the longest I've ever seen anyone take to wipe a table. The food was decent but portions are small and highly priced. Won't be returning.

The place will fool you looking at it from the parking lot. Its much bigger inside than it appears. The food is awesome and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and over the top. Great place all around.

Absolutely love this place. I just moved to New Smyrna Beach and this is one of the first places I ate. It has very quickly turned into my favorite restaurant here. The oysters are always fresh and huge. The Mahi tacos are my favorite lunch take-out. Great relaxing feel at the bar if you just want to grab a few drinks. Amy is a great bartender, and the owner Mike is as down-to-earth as they come. Excellent service and food.

We always stop in when we visit NSB. This is one of our favorite spots. Everything I ve had has been great. Salads are good. I love the oysters happy hour prices are excellent.

The portions are large and prices are better than a lot of places nearby. My only complaint is I wish the kids menu was a little better.

Service is always great, too. I recommend this place if you re looking for a laid back atmosphere and great food.

The service was very bad and the wait was ridiculous. 5 people that came after us got their food before we even got our appetizers. Out of all the waiters only one was truly friendly and kind. The tartar sauce was good though

The flounder w/blackberry butter was excellent. Slaw was fresh. Also enjoyed lightly battered butterfly shrimp. They must have a chef that loves his job. Nice atmosphere & waitress, Chelsea was very attentive.

Birthday lunch at a great seafood restaurant in New Smyrna! The best fresh blackened Grouper on a very fresh bun, with fantastic tartar sauce! Fresh Onions rings with Romalade was outstanding! Great cole slaw!

Our server Courtney was excellant!

The owners are taking over Inlet Harbor in Ponce Inlet in October and we can't wait!

Off the Hook Raw Bar & Grill is one of the best places for thoughtfully prepared seafood in New Smyrna Beach (beachside). It has become our "go to" place for seafood in a town with abundant choices. Tucked away in the beachside Publix-anchored strip mall (Indian River Village), it lacks the elegance of a stand-alone restaurant or the ambience of a dockside eatery. Don't let those two missing attributes dissuade you--the service and food are excellent. At our most recent visit, Stacey was our server. In addition, the owners have done a decent job with the space, creating an ambience that is inviting and unpretentious. We have only scratched the surface of the menu--and have only ordered seafood for our entrees--but we have been consistently pleased with the outcomes. What we particularly like about this place is that they source fresh seafood and then prepare it in a straightforward manner to ensure that the freshness and flavor of the seafood are never eclipsed by other ingredients or fussy preparations. That said, the Cesar salad was a bit bland on the two occasions we ordered it. Off the Hook has a full-service bar as well as nightly happy hour and dinner specials. There are abundant flat-screen televisions--tuned to sports channels--throughout the facility. Reservations are not accepted. Generally, we have not experienced long waits for a table; however, one Saturday we had a 40-minute wait (We hung out at the bar.). NSB tends to be an early crowd. If you don't mind eating a little later in the evening, the crowd will have thinned.

Loved our food and service we received. We took advantage of the happy hour pricing for their oysters. They were very good and I still talk about them!! I can't wait to go back!! I had their specialty drink in the take home glass and it was very good.

Great service as soon as you walk in this restaurant. The staff is down to earth and very personable. Oysters are amazing and they do not hold back on the adult beverages. One of my favorite places to go to!

This place has gone downhill in the last few months. Never had an issue until tonight. Ordered medium steamed oysters. Came out light steam/ raw. Took over 30 mins to refire the oysters. And it's not even busy. No explanation given. Unless things drastically change, we won't be back for a while.

One of our favorite sit-down restaurants in NSB. I love the Asian influence with multiple poke offerings. The poke wings are super unique and sensational. Fish and chips are solid. Oysters, while a great deal on the weekend, aren't always top shelf. Service is really, really good.
Quick warning that they do not offer bottled water, which can be key for those who cannot drink Florida tap water.

This is a very nice and we'll run seafood restaurant tucked into the plaza with Publix. They have several specials and fresh catches and you can get anything from wasters to Great sandwiches. They have nice touches like their own homemade sauces and we had a fantastic pasta dish with seafood and a Beurre Blanc sauce that was amazing. The staff is also really nice and several of them came by to make sure that we were pleased with our meal and the entire experience.

Not the same as 2 years ago. Service was slow, the chips with our drip was stale. The blackened fish was way over cooked. Just a really bad dinning experience. Wish we would have chosen better.

We have eaten at Off the Hook several times and generally agree that it is good but not great. Some of the meals are very good (Blackened Cod) where others (Fried Grouper) are blah. They do run a Oyster Happy Hour on the weekend of $9 per dozen...they are a good size but nothing special. Prices are generally fair but ask what the market price is on any of the specials to avoid surprises.

I go here for the Rock Shrimp and the casual salty atmosphere. It's nice and cool inside, away from the Florida heat, and they have bar seating, high tops, and booths. Back to the rock shrimp- it's hard to come by on a regular basis at a restaurant and they usually have it here. It's also very affordable by the dozen, served with lobster style dipping butter. This is one of those places I wouldn't normally be appealed to because it's randomly in a shopping plaza, but the locals approved and I went. Now, I've been back a few times. If you're into sports, there are plenty of TV's to watch something if you want to sit at a bar for a game. I recommend the rock shrimp and the grouper reuben, and happy Hour is from 4-7 every day.

Stopped by for lunch with a coworker for my first time here. All of the seafood is fresh caught and the fish was filleted in the restaurant before it is cooked. I had the fish tacos and it was really good and I do recommend the coconut rice. It was nicely flavored and not too much coconut flavor. I will be back again again.

Took a day trip to the beach with some friends. The original restaurant we wanted to go to had a two hour wait. We found this place on google and decided to try it out. It was only a 20 min wait for a party of 6 with 3 of our dogs. We were first giving stares and nasty looks by both staff and guest because we were the only minorities in the restaurant at the time. BUT we were seated outside and was blessed with the best server Kirstin ever. Kristin made us all feel welcomed and like locals. She made sure to have all our drinks and food out within 7-15 mins. She was herself gave good jokes and literally was like our plus one. Gave good advice and recommendations on the menu items. She even offered our dogs some water and gave them some attention especially since one of them is blind. Although the food wasn t that great taste wise Kristin made up for it with her 10 star service. We will be back and ended up getting a year beach pass. Thanks Kristen for making us outsiders feel welcomed and not treating us any different. Kristen WILL only be our server from now on!!!

We go there for the Cobb salad. Can't beat the portion for the price and it is delicious. However, this experience was less than positive. We were greeted and seated promptly. My husband has a preferred booth and asked to sit there (it was open). We were ushered, instead, to a "better booth to view the tv". "Your server will be with you immediately to take your drink order". We waited 10 minutes w/o service. There were very few customers. There was no one on the floor or behind the bar. When I inquired "why?" I was told there was a staff meeting going on. It was 5:00. We came out for dinner not for a staff meeting. We left. My husband & I have owned two businesses, raised 2 children here and are 39 year residents of NSB. We are so disappointed. This was one of the few restaurants in town we still frequented.

I've lived in the area for 7 years now and finally tried this place. The oysters are cheap but I wouldn't get anything else here. $30 for a plate of sub par sides and a tiny piece of fish that was questionably fresh. Smoked fish dip was not smoked. Tourist trap.

Great seafood place with something for everyone. I typically avoid storefront stripmall restaurants, but don't let that fool you about this one. This place serves great food, with friendly and knowledgeable servers... everything from shrimp in a basket to their catch of the day special. All prepared and cooked to perfection!
