Such a neat place here in the Highlands. The food has always been great and the service as well. I really like their selection of house beers now that they are brewing their own and can't recommend their brown ale enough. Grab yourself some fish 'n chips and a pint and have a great meal!

My fishing buddy and I went to dinner here 2 nights in a row while camping and fishing nearby. We were pleasantly surprised at the old-style pub atmosphere, great service, and pretty darn good food. There is a not a huge selection of craft-brews on tap, but what they had was just fine. We will be back.

We love stopping at the Tavern when we come home to Clifton. There was NOTHING like this here when I was growing up. The atmosphere and food are always good. The owners are fun and always willing to chat. This is a new annual stop for us.

My friends and I went to have dinner and talk at this restaurant. We were having a conversation and an employee came to our table and told us that we had to leave the table, because there had been people waiting for 30 minuites. We had made a reservation for that table and there were other tables that had been there longer than we were. They asked us because we were under the age of 18, they would have never asked an adult to move.

While staying at the local State park, my boyfriend and I came across Jack Mason's Tavern. We were immediately greeted and our server was absolutely amazing. She treated us like family and listened to our camping stories even though she was a bit busy. If ever in the area we highly recommend stopping in and ask for Ashton. She left us with a smile. Great job Jack Mason's!

Friendly staff on a very busy night. Lots of folks there made service slow however. Prime Rib a bit overdone and was not the taste I was hoping for. Baked potato was great along with great vegi. Rather small salads. Tried one of their micro beers. Ok but not one of my favorites. Coffee to go was not good and for me, undrinkable. Other folks meals in our party were a bit better. No fresh bread offered with the meal as served by several other places to me in this price range. So.... over all about a 3 star performance.

The food has never disappointed me, and I've tried a lot of it. I've especially been pleased with their off-menu specials. I'm also glad there's a place in town to get a decent beer on tap - please expand your Virginia offerings and get some big stouts in there!

We got the Spicy Tavern Burger and Fish and Chips. This was the second best burger I have ever had in my life. It was spicy but not a burn, just a good heat. No pain but TONS of flavor! I got this with the sweet potato fries with the raspberry dipping sauce. Weird right? It was weird but in a great way. I liked it. The side veggies were to pass out for! So yummy. And they let me try the sauerkraut ( a sweet German true version) it was delicious and it was cool they let try it. Thank you I would highly recommend this place. The service was top notch and worth the stop all on its own. If your female check out the ladies room, you will come out empowered! Great Tavern!

Having a waiter yell at you as you walk in the door so loudly that people stop eating and look at you is embarrassing. I grew up in the service industry. I understand the hysteria, but come on. Designate someone to welcome customers and ask them for the protection of others to use the hand sanitizer you have kindly placed in the front of your restaurant. It is respectful and shows you care. Yelling across the restaurant only makes customers uncomfortable.

Chose a random restaurant while driving through on 64. This was an extremely pleasant surprise. The staff was terrific and the food was amazing. Try the Reuben sandwich, it's made with an amazing home-made sauerkraut.

I really enjoyed it here. We came with friends and while the servings were rather enormous, the food was very tasty and they have great fries! It's a very nice old building and is super clean inside. It looks like an old school bar but has all the welcoming aspects of a family dining place. Next time I'm in town, I'd like to eat here again.

I immediately have to give this restaurant a PERFECT rating! I had the Chicken breasts, little potatoes, and vegetables plate. I also had Sweet Tea & Water. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!!!

2 of my friends and I went to go eat lunch at the tavern today. When we sat down one of the workers Ashley was very rude and immature toward one of my friends. She glared at us the whole time and made our whole meal very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Our waitress was great & our food was good but we were definitely put in an awkward situation from another employee due to no fault of our own!

Stopped for lunch with kids on way home from vacation. Billboard touted it as European and family-friendly. Plus: not fast food, children's menu ($5 for sizable portions). Minus: 10 min. wait for service, 20 min. wait for food; small beer selection and super pricy ($8.50 for a pint of a nearby Lexington lager). Burger, fish and chips, Mac and cheese, chicken fingers were typical virginia small town restaurant fare. The most European thing about it was the British Open showing on the tv.
