Thoroughly enjoyed Seafood here. I got the fried shrimp and fried oysters, along with whatever vegetables they had available. Everything is cooked wonderfully. Staff was helpful, patient, knowledgeable and professional. It was a pleasure to eat here.

Third time dining out since March, so worth It! Jessica took great care of us outside. Safety measures were on point. Food was outta this world great, drinks were de-lish as well. Thanks so much for living up to expectations and then some! Highly recommend.
Oceanic is a beautiful ocean view restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. We visit this restaurant at least 4 times per vacation. Don't forget to try the hush puppies.
Great location and atmosphere, however the restaurant is over rated and over priced. We were served cold food which was unacceptable.
Food was really good. Had an assortment of appetizers with a couple drinks. Service left something to be desired but the seating was outstanding. Would visit again!

Simply prepared quality seafood and amazing views from the pier onto the ocean. The only reason for 4 stars is the portions are on the smaller size and the presentation has an amateur feeling
Fresh catch was Swordfish had blackened and was very good. Our server was professional, polite and friendly. Restaurant was very nice inside and well maintained clean Would definitely eat here again.

Awful. Mediocre at best. The view and service is great, but the food is bland and overpriced. Their mixed drinks are also extremely overpriced and incredibly weak. Don't waste your money.
I will never ever go back to this place. Rude manager and rude hostess. I spent $100 on lunch and was treated really ridiculous. I was going to walk on the beach and the hostess chased me down after I ate and yelled through the parking lot if you don't move your car it will be towed. Seriously. I just spent 2 hours in your restaurant. I spend money here every other week but never again !!! Also, the food sucked I would never complain however, might as well disclose it all while I am writing a review.
The Oceanic has been my favorite restaurant for years. I normally visit at the very end of the season when the beach crowd is not so huge. As an added bonus, the scallops tend to be larger at that time also. I decided to take a few days off and come down in July this year.
The view is spectacular from the bar area. They have renovated their deck and it is very appealing- seems perfect for a romantic sunset dinner! The hostess and the wait staff were professional and friendly.
I am always thrilled with the food I get. Last week, I had the house platter with scallops, oysters and flounder. The flounder was the best I've EVER had and the scallops were also excellent. I've only had them better in the fall at this very same restaurant. ;-)
My daughters are adults now and they asked if the seafood was from North Carolina. I was very shocked and disappointed to find out that the shrimp were flown in from Thailand. We really expected a restaurant that has been on the North Carolina coast for such a long time to have a desire to support the local fishermen. Well, it turns out that they do! I called and spoke with the general manager there and she informed me that they buy as much seafood locally as they possibly can but the volume, size and quality of shrimp necessary to meet their demand, especially in the summer, is not able to be supported locally. I completely understand that and support her decision to maintain a standard that we will all enjoy. I was assured that the rest of our meals were from the North Carolina coast. All of the grouper, mahi mahi, flounder, oysters and scallops are all from our coast!
Anyway, EVERYTHING that we had was delicious! I hope you go there and enjoy it too! Loved it!
It was a rainy day so we didn t get to sit on the pier. The view upstairs is phenomenal! Crab dip was delicious. Love the free hush puppies. My husband s flounder platter was crisp and flavorful. I had a basic chicken salad which was good. Best restaurant in WB hands down. A must visit if your from out of town. Jess our server was great. We ll be back.
Oceanic is one of our favorite restaurants when we vacation in Wrightsville Beach. In fact, we always try and rent a place within walking distance. The staff and service is excellent, delicious food and a stunning view whether you are inside or out. But sitting outside on the pier is a unique experience and they serve the best Hush Puppies in the area. I would recommend them most highly!

Been about 5-6 years since I had been here. New ownership, new menu. No longer have bacon wrapped shrimp on the appetizer menu but they did make them for me. Very good experience.

Nice location however that s all it has going for it the food is ok but very expensive for the quality untrained staff brought salad out with the meal rather than before just not a 30 dollar per person level of service and quality
Sit on the dock, or inside in the air conditioning, and enjoy local seafood while you sip a mixed drink that tastes like pure vacation.
The wife and I ate there again March 2, 2020. Food and view were great. They are so much better since they reopened. Crab cake was huge and delicious. Fries, slaw, iced tea all good. Fish tacos were great. Prices are normal. Great experience.
It is not the Oceanic that I've known for 25 years. I don't know if ownership has changed, but the attention to quality was gone. The crab dip, sad; the Calabash plate was overcooked; the Calimari was awful, we sent it back. The only saving grace was a fabulous server.
Family favorite seafood restaurant right on the coast. We always enjoy the food and walking out to the shore after we're stuffed. Great value and good selection of traditional Carolina seafood cuisine.
Bar service was very slow, mixed cocktails were expensive and not correct. I would not go back.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants for the atmosphere and the views. The sunrise and sunset can't be beat over here on Wrightsville Beach. It's usually a little busy but the staff is always courteous and kind. Thank you for always being wonderful.

The staff was very nice but we were forgotten for about ten minutes before being asked for drinks or anything. Besides that, the food was very good and the scenery is pretty.

Was told 1 1/2 hr wait. Took 2 hr 15min. With plenty of open seating all around the place. Server was great, menu is small and pricy. Food was slow coming out but OK. I will never be back

My wife and I have always liked The Oceanic. There is always a wait to get in but usually not very long. We went there last night and we were told the wait time was 15-20 minutes . After about 1/2 hour some people were talking about waiting for a lot longer than they were told. There were at least a dozen empty tables on the main floor that weren't reserved, but no one was being seated there. Another couple were talking to the manager and were upset about the wait time. After an hour, I asked to speak to the manager. When he came to talk to me I told him I had been waiting an hour after being told 15-20 minutes and I pointed out all of the empty seats. He gave me the excuse that the weather has been better than expected and they didn't have enough help. I told him I just wanted to have dinner and that was not my problem. He then said I needed to give him a minute to figure out what was going on and apologized for the hostess quoting the wrong wait time. I told him it wasn't the hostesses fault they were short handed. After another 15 minutes we were literally walking out the door when my wife's phone rang telling us our table was ready. The hostess took us upstairs and seated us in a booth. the table legs were uneven and the table rocked really bad and we asked our waiter to move us and he did so promptly. After that the service by the waiter was excellent and so was the food.
A well known restaurant, at the beach, on a Friday not having enough help and blaming it on the weather, and the hostess are poor excuses for a manager to give a customer. Although I am sure I will probably go there again because the atmosphere and the good food, I will not go there for dinner. maybe lunch on the pier while at the beach, but I won't take the ride down there just to go to dinner at the Oceanic. When we decided to go out to eat last night we narrowed it down to 4 choices and then chose the Oceanic. We could have gone to the Holiday Inn, Bluewater Grill or Dockside but chose the Oceanic. Had it not been for the great service of our waiter and the great food the overall experience there would have probably been our last time at the Oceanic
Service from Melony was awful. No straw for our drinks. No hush puppy basket. No plates for our appetizers. Wrong order was served to our table so every one was done eating by the time the correct order was served. To high priced for the service and quality of food... Sorry,
I love this place however I was here before and ask for fried scallops and they were very accommodating but this time they wanted $5 per scallop!!! They need to make this fried on the menu!!!
Me and my boyfriend went to oceanic for my birthday dinner a few nights ago.. i was so excited but we sadly left the restaurant very very disapointed.
We had fried calamary, i had the fish of the day with a lemon risotto and he had a fried plattern (cant remember the exact names of the dishes).. my fish was literally RAW... it wasnt even slighty warm, glibbery and tasteles... The risotto was hard, the fried shrimp? You guessed it- raw inside. The calamaries werent even calamaries, i bite into one- SURPRISE it was fried carrots and peppers!! There were like 3 real calamaries on my whole plate. The rest were some random fried veggies. My boyfriend meant " the best thing here was the sweet tea".
The servers changed at least 5 times during our dinner.
Maybe oneday we will give it another shot since the view is nice, but i actually dont think so... 120bucks for nothing.
Recently renovated, better food than before, the outdoor ambiance is always a plus.
Drove my 3 girlfriends, visiting from Dallas and Ann Arbor, from Raleigh to Wrightsville beach to take in the sounds of the waves and smell of the ocean. I love being able to sit outside in a relaxed environment and eat seafood and drink bubbly.
I had the watermelon and feta salad with mint, topped with grilled shrimp. Another had a shrimp po'boy. Can't recall what the other 2 ate. We shared a bottle of rose sekt and dipped our toes in the water when done. They had just reopened a week prior. Great food. Great relaxed atmosphere.
Good food, not great. Menu much smaller than we remembered. No stuffed flounder. Server was efficient but like a robot: no enthusiasm, no extra effort, had to be asked/reminded for basics. Location is great, kids salmon was phenomenal, crab dip was excellent as always but seemed to be small portions, and the kitchen worked with us to create a better meal than on the menu.
Prices were better than I remembered.

The food was good, the oysters could have been fried a little longer, but the shrimp, fish and hush puppies were awesome! And the view is perfect and very romantic, right on the beach!
Nothing amazing about this restaurant. The seafood was average at best and the price was really high. It has a nice view.

The very same beachfront Pier restaurant that my son's dad took me to in '94 and I found a pearl in my oyster. . . Loved spending lunch here with my son as we scoped out UNCW!! My birthday meal was to die for.
First off they sat us in the back upstairs after we passed ALL open tables right in front of the water. Only because we had a kid with us. Then the waiter did not know what one of the appetizers were only to return to tell us then return after ordering to tell us the menu item my girlfriend chose was no longer available. Being a vegetarian she then ordered the black bean burger. I ordered the Mahi tacos and our daughter the kids cheese burger. Our food came an hour later. My girlfriends bean burger looked like a sloppy Joe comprised of black beans, obviously they did not know how to make a black bean burger since it was all over the place on her plate. My tacos were soggy and some type of water or oil poured out of them when holding them at an angle, so much so it filled the bottom of my plate. My daughters burger was huge and had nothing on it when we ordered it with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. My girlfriends fries were soggy and under cooked, mine soggy but a little better than hers, our daughters were burnt. We remembered this place from our first couple of years dating and we loved it. It has fallen way off. More of a tourist trap now. Waiter did not know what kind of beer they had either. We will not go back to this place. When we left my girlfriend said we should of gone to McDonald's. I agree. Nothing like way overpriced food and bad service with a view.

Wonder view. Great food. They work hard in this special time to keep you safe and please you. Good but small selection of craft beer on the menu.
