Donna and Genie are two of the most unpleasant and awful people I ve ever encountered. None the less have as landlords. They do not care one bit about their tenants and seem to enjoy just being negative and nasty to people.

Worst and most unprofessional experience i have ever had. I would give 0 stars if i could. If there is ever a issue they never admit when they are wrong, they always accuse you, and are aggressive and rude on the phone shouting to make their points and hateful people. All they want is to take your money and run, and they will nickle and dime you any way they can.
State Financial Services is one of the worst and most unprofessional landlords in Boston. You can really tell by the nature of their notes to tenants and talking to their employees that they do not care about their tenants, only turning around their apartments and making money while of course taking a good chunk of your security deposit. My apartment was dirty as all hell when I moved in in September, and one of their employees inspected our apartment a couple months back and called out a bunch of little repairs which I thought totally should be attributed to wear and tear of the apt. I m assuming we will have to pay for them upon move out. Plus, I ve had cockroaches in my apt for over 2 months and I ve called numerous times but they refuse to get an exterminator. I can already tell they re going to nab us for our security deposit for little things, like tacs in the wall from posters, chipped paint, normal marks on the floor that occur when you live somewhere for a year. DO NOT RENT HERE! They really do not give a rat s a about their tenants.
Id put 0 stars if it was possible. Had to get an inspection done for my apartment here.
The apartment was great until the end. Talk about ruining everything over one momemnt.
I followed all their listed and very undescriptive rules on how to complete the move out inspection. First, to even get a hold of anyone you have to call time and time again speaking with who knows who until you get an answer. And when that happens your on hold again waiting.
The manager, attorney, and all staff I spoke with was sooo rude with the 1 question I had. They fought and fought over what was a mistake on their side, and for me, I just can t believe with all the reviews i ve seen how they are still a business. The manager tried to brag about how great she was at her job instead of answering my questions and also decided to try to reem me out for asking for a co-employees name. They then make false accusations and make everything somehow my fault. TRULY UNHELPFUL.
They absolutely deserve to be shut down here as from what I can tell they are a money hungry company with no regards for their tenants.
Honestly the single worst professional experience I ve ever had. One of the main people, Donna, was the most rude and anxiety producing human and completely unprofessional. When they scheduled showings they would not knock and open my door while I was sleeping. Truly was borderline bullied into moving out early and giving up my bathroom for months so they could renovate for a week maximum . Please seek business elsewhere.
This company is the most unprofessional run company I ve ever encountered. The office manager is the rudest woman and I m shocked this company is still in business. Everything is the tenant s fault and you have to call time and time again just to get a message passed along in hopes of someone eventually responding. There was a mouse problem in the building that took months and months of calling and threatening to get them to take action. They went through about 6 supers on the premise while I lived there and all of them said how much they hated the management and how rude the management was to them which goes to show that they treat their employees poorly too. This company just looks for ways to charge you and keep your security deposits. They could care less about you and jump to the defense if you call to address an issue. Look elsewhere and don t rent from them!
Renting from State Financial Services was the worst rental experience I've ever had. In fact, the management is so hostile I didn't feel comfortable writing this review until the end of my lease. Donna is a nightmare and the most unprofessional property manager I've ever come across. I've had real-estate brokers, maintenance men, potential tenants etc. unlock and walk right into my apartment without any warning. There were multiple times I awoke to strangers standing in my apartment. The stress of living in any of these apartments is not worth the location or price, this company will nickel and dime you for every single minor thing they can. Please consider these reviews before signing any lease with SFS- these reviews are extremely accurate, and I wish I had done more research before getting involved with this management company. It's not worth it. I've never been so relieved to move out of an apartment building, and frankly I m shocked they are even still in business.
Guys, just check the comments for this company on Yelp. You'll be surprised by how ridiculous this company is. Try both "Gable Realty Trust" and "State Financial Service" on Yelp.
I saw the negative reviews before I moved in and thought: how bad can it be? It really is THAT bad. They ll enter the apartment without telling you and then bill you. If you have any problems with the old unmaintained overpriced apartments, they blame you. They tell you that you are essentially a guest in their home instead of treating you like you are a paying tenant. If you try to combat anything that happens they yell at you and say you re attacking them personally. Impossible to talk to and even worse to get help from. They once told me thet receive emails from previous tenants saying they miss their management and beg to move back in... still laughing at that one. Stay away.
If it was possible to leave 0 stars I would. I've lived in many apartments in Boston and have never had an experience this bad with a property management group. PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING A LEASE!!
Our first issue arose when we woke up to our toilet overflowing early AM before business hours. The super s number listed on our lease is a number out of service- so we contacted the emergency number. After the super came, plunged the toilet and left with the bathroom full of water. When I contacted the manager she was extremely rude about the situation and told me I was lucky they offered their services. We later received a bill under our door with charges for a new vanity (which was never replaced) and the man hours it took to replace it. Everything is the tenant s fault here and the property manager herself is extremely nasty and will bully / argue with you over the phone until you give in to what she wants. I work in customer service and I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional.
We had multiple issues with people entering the apartment without notice. My roommate (female) who worked night shift at the time woke up at 10am to the Super and another grown male in our living room without notice. After contacting Gable Realty and leaving a voicemail we received an email from the management company saying we were not contacted because we did not leave our phone number- although we had a signed lease with both our contact numbers, had been in contact via phone previously and had email addresses that they were able to pull up.
We ended up buying a camera to keep in the apartment living so that we felt safer knowing anyone entering would be caught on camera-subsequently we ended up catching many mice on camera running throughout the apartment.
I am only grazing the surface on our experience with Gable Realty. I also did not feel comfortable leaving a review until I was completely out of the apartment in fear. I never read reviews for property management companies up until now. PLEASE take this into consideration and feel free to msg me with any concerns
This was the worst experience I have I ever had renting in Boston. All they are interested in is keeping your money. I had a cockroach infested apartment and it was against their policy to call an exterminator!!! They keep your security deposit over damage from a previous tenant. They enter your apartment without receiving permission as well! I highly recommend you do not rent from them!!!
I dont want to say anything mean and I dont have anything nice to say. I would just strongly advise going elsewhere, you wont find any help, flexibility or kindness here,
