OCPD is very rude and doesnt respect anyone but themselves.

Friendly with international students. The bike lights they gaved me thru their safe ride program helped me a lot during the summer!

Very sharp, professional, and attentive police force. They were active, spread out, and providing exceptional service. We noticed out safe and nice it was there.

A big thank you and Kudos to officer Riley Scott and assisting officers of the Ocean city police department!!! They caught the kids that stole our bikes!! Great job officers thank you for all you do! Never expected them to be recovered ... So glad I called and filed a report.

I was in a car accident on June 13th in ocean city. I was totally not a fault and the officers informed me they would take care of the information exchange for me. Come to find out upon calling the next day they don't have the information ready for me and require a written letter as well as a $10 fee. I would have taken care of it myself if I knew how miserable they were and what complete scammers they are. Seems like they're more interested in your money then helping victims

Was followed into a store and around the boardwalk by a man for over an hour. I had to hide in a store for thirty minutes while he waited outside for me and my friends to leave. My girlfriend called the police to describe the man and have an officer sent down, they said they d take note of the situation and the description of the man. We left shortly after. The woman on the phone did not seem interested in doing anything about the situation and did not seem to be worried at all. The lack of security and police on the boardwalk at night is ridiculous. The girl that worked at the damn t shirt shop kept me safer than the police ever could and that s the tea sis.

My friend had too much to drink and accidentally picked up the wrong phone when he left our hotel pool bar. He had no idea he did it. Next day he was arrested By Officer Street for strategically planning a theft according to OCPD. Funny part is the phone was found in the SAME building where it was strategically taken, it was an old iPhone, and the screen was all cracked. It was an obvious mistake if my friend did pick up the phone. Our group of three that weren t arrested assisted the owners to find the phone. Officer Street searched our room for the phone that was being pinged through find my iPhone and the owner of the phone even said it wasn t in our room. We were not allowed to leave accord to Deputy Doofus because we were suspects but the funny part is they didn t frisk us to see if we were holding the phone. Officer Street said he would arrest us all if the phone was found in our room. The cops knew the phone was in the building, but said they weren t going to help find it. Here the hotel had the phone the whole time. The cops didn t ask where did you go after the bar which would have led them straight to the phone. The cops didn t search anywhere other than our room and didn t ask another person any questions other than my group. None of us had a clue our friend accidentally took the phone until he was being taken away in handcuffs. He was falling down drunk an hour before strategically taking the phone. It s now been 15 hours that they have been holding him and won t release him. The owners have their cellphone back. They said they don t want to press charges, yet here we are waiting for the police to release him. This place is a joke and always have had the worst cops who are interning during college and obviously don t have a clue what they are doing.

Update: Arresting Officer Street never gave my friend my phone number to call so he had to contact his dad to come pick him up who drove 4 hours through the night to get him. Turns out the victim didn t drop the charges. My friend spent $2000 on a lawyer who didn t do anything but show up for the court date and didn t request the video and only evidence that supposedly showed him taking the phone. Officer Street didn t show up to the court date, the victim didn t either, the prosecution didn t have the video that was supposedly the reason my friend got arrested. Still, the judge said he would postpone the trial for another date and up to a few times, rather than just end the trial over this farce. We still have no clue whether my friend actually took the phone or not, but rather than waste a few more days and countless hours of driving to OCMD he took a 40 hour community service to have his record wiped clean. This all could have been avoided had the victim talked to my friend and just said hey man you were drunk, I get it. Why don t we just go to Verizon/AT&T and you can buy me a new phone . Both sides would have been better off.

completely useless, more concerned with pulling people over to collect revenue than assisting people who ask for help. you're better off calling fat daddy's pizza they'll probably be there first and most likely be more helpful.

Do not park in the ocean city inlet parking lot because they will charge you even if you pay the fee . I just received a bill from two months ago saying that I stayed at the boardwalk for five hours when I was there for one hour and I paid $7.50. I just got a bill for $50.

We were in the right hand lane of Philadelphia Ave. approaching the 5th st post office and a white Ocean City police van was next to us in the left lane. There was an SUV going the wrong way on Philadelphia Ave. and headed right for the van and at the last second they made a sharp right into the public parking lot next to the post office and kept going toward Balt. Ave. The police van was #831 and it was approx. 8:34pm and they did not pursue the SUV in any way, no lights, no siren, no anything!! I reported this incident and all they cared about was who I was and my phone number.

Almost 2weeks and still no fingerprints, no video footage, no wallet, no phone, and no car keys. Was told they have a lot of cases because it's summer time and the cases are lined up in the order they were opened......Horrible.....

I watched them T-Bone a car as OCPD flew threw a red light without even slowing down. I watched them spray various crowd control substances onto people they never said a word to. I watched people get arrested without ever being told why they were getting arrested. I had no personal interactions with OCPD, but as a bystander I can say they have no regards for your safety or well being.

Impound all the cool cars for very frivolous reasons. Let people have fun one weekend a year without ruining it with tint and lowering tickets

Had 2 drinks spilled on my head because someone asked asked what I did and I told them I was in the military. Cops arrested me even as I was walking away after they refused to listen to what I told them what happened. Because of political correctness I have to suffer for the actions of someone else.

I work full time in Ocean City. One morning, I drove behind an OCPD police officer from the 54 junction down to the McDonalds on 120th. That's almost thirty blocks. In that time, I witnessed (as a CITIZEN), three people driving while on their cell phones, two separate pairs of bikers completely ignore traffic stop lights and just blow through red lights (thank god no one was coming...) and a handful of families cross Coastal HIGHWAY outside of a crosswalk--as in, nowhere near a crosswalk. Why anyone wants to run in the middle of the highway is beyond me, but anyways... What happened to that town hall meeting where they talked about actually writing tickets for these minor offenses? One wrong time and these 'minor' offenses could be deadly. If I witness all this as a citizen while riding behind this cop, why did he not stop and correct these behaviors? Everyday I have to drive down Coastal Highway and everyday, at least once but usually more, I have to stomp on my breaks because some idiot runs out in the middle of a highway. Get it together OCPD, ticket these infractions. If it starts to cost people $50 to not use a crosswalk or ignore traffic lights, maybe they'll want to actually follow the rules.

They don't care about nothing they get in there feelings and harrass the ones that stand out to them .. so sad a friend of mine dealt with a 100 percent unprofessional officer ...

If I could give them ZERO stars I would, Me and my boyfriend went on vacation here for the first time yesterday everything was going great we decided late last night we were gonna check out some of the bars on the boardwalk as we are walking I handed my boyfriend trash to throw away the female officer rode by us on her bike stopped at that trash can pulled out someone s wine cooler that was half drank, I continue to walk and turn the corner to get off the boardwalk next thing I know I am being handcuffed by her and a male officer who put the cuffs so tight my wrist are swollen and bruised to the point I cannot move them bruises all up and down my arms from how he was man handling me, they never told me why I was being arrested and then proceeded to search not knowing if I was a minor or not, not reading my rights meanwhile the male officer still has me gripped up by my arm and I asked him to please ease up and moved my arm and he then charged me with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest I spent EIGHT HOURS in a holding cell being treated like garbage and not even being able to get one free phone call... I didn t even get to sleep in the hotel I paid for.

The Ocean City Police Dpartment (Records Dept) is very RUDE! And to think it is OUR tax dollars that is paying their salary. What a complete WASTE of money!!! Unprofessional and Disrespectful. I certainly hope I receive a response to my emailed complaint. Unbelievable that a Records clerk would hang up on me simply because I requested her name!

THEY ARE THE WORST PEOPLE TO BE AROUND!
A majority of the cops there are so heartless to there own coworkers not just to the citizens they're suppose to serve and protect.

where are the negative stars? very bad police force, i was almost hit by a drunk driver on 12th street, after reporting the incident with a full description of the vehicle and the tags number i witnessed this driver cruise past multiple cops, i even stopped to alert a cop and was in disbelief when the cop only cared for my name and number. now its clear why ocean city is a mess with all this outrageous behavior.

Thank you for trying to educate the public regarding bike riding and installing lights on them instead of ticketing.
My husband and I live in West Ocean City and nightly hope to avoid the bicyclists riding not only with dark clothing and no lights, but riding South in the turning lanes in front of the outlets clear up to Rt 707.

Wednesday at 9:30 pm heading north, we got in to the turning lane to turn at the 139 mile marker onto Waterview Drive. We almost hit a bicylist riding towards us in the turning lane as we reached the mile marker. We had to swing out into Rt 50 to keep from hitting him. Scared the heck out of us. But he kept going towards OC and We turned right onto Waterview Drive. We were driving very slow backWaterview.
Suddenly we heard someone yelling profanities at our windows. It was the guy On the bike. He must have turned around and followed us back down the road. We were dumbfounded and afraid of him. He kept yelling and then just as quickly turned and left.

We did not call the police, but should have because he probably travels this way every night & now knows where we live.
So thank you for seeing this as a big issue.

Last night (Thursday) at 10:00 pm coming home on Ocean Highway at 3rd street in front of the Post Office there were 4 people on bikes. Dark clothing, no lights, no reflectors and taking up the entire width of the bus lane. The bus could not get around them and was just about on the butt of the girl lagging behind. We watched as they proceeded across the bridge 3 abreast afraid they'd get hit. They started in the bus lane but ended up in the right hand lane the rest of the way.

Terrible. My wallet was found on 8/24 while I was still on vacation, but the police department waited 2 weeks to tell me (after everything was replaced). Then, they couldn't tell me what was left in wallet and made me paid $8 to send it to me. Two weeks later, still no wallet. So when I called for an update, during business hours, you get a message that says they are closed during non-business hours. There is no way to leave a message. Frustrated, I called the main number and the cop told me I would just have to keep calling over and over until someone picked up.

They gave us a ticket because we have been loaded by business parking lot for 45 minutes not 30. I s seems like they try to get every possible penny from everyone.
