Given the climate of the pandemic these people have the least consideration for anyone's well being and situation. What a shame for this town.

Update: we had toilet issues that we didn't know about, OH came, tested our meter twice bc they suspected an issue but didn't advise us until our water bill on a two bedroom bungalow was $2100. So much systemic prejudice it's not even funny.

Recently I had to request numerous account-administration-related changes. I am pleasantly surprised at OakvilleHydro's level of service. Their reps are very fast and know what they are doing. I have to give them due credit that a monopolist is providing such great service that I rarely experience.

Useless customer service, overbilling, and multipl...

Useless customer service, overbilling, and multiple service charges for accounts that are overdue for 2 months. We already overpay for hydro and water, but when there are added service fees, and referrals to collections agencies after 2 months (no calls or recourse, just shipped off to a collection agency - and forced to pay fees for Oakville Hydro and the Collection agency, on top of the outrageous hydro fees already in place). An utter joke of a company. Lucky for them, they're a utility! So there's no reason to improve customer service, customers don't have a choice in the first place.

Awful service! They don't answer the phone. Web site frequently down. e-billing is a joke, bills often don't arrive until/unless payment is overdue. Robocalls are annoying. I wish I had any other choice.

I have been a long time resident of Oakville and I have always found Oakville Hydro to provide very good service. I have phoned them over the years regarding specific issues with my power. They have shown up within 24 hours, frequently within 3 hours or less to address the issue. When I upgraded my fuse panel to breakers, they arrived when they said they would and reconnected me immediately after the panel was changed. The people I have spoken to have been courteous and have tried to help as much as possible.

The financial slavery of Oakville Hydro is utterly disgusting. The service charges are actually more than my usage amount how criminal is that? The bills make no sense, even if they did there is no option for negotiation. 1 person, 3 bedrm home, everything is ultra energy save appliance, use less than lowest amt of H20, use 7 watt lt bulbs, with bare min usage, doesn't matter, still gouging. Just raised rates Jan 1st by 3/3%. Why? Extra bonus for Execs? Certainly not for service. My new bill with H20, $175! For what?? Again, financial piracy. Guess no one's allowed fair utility $ or allowed to save for retirement. Shame on you Oakville Council & Oakville Hydro for this gouging. I'd give NO stars if it was available.

Terrible customer service. When we requested to have our service upgraded from 100 amp to 200 amp (back on Aug 23) we had to wait more than a month for a quote. It came in at more that $7300. When we informed Oakville Hydro it was way beyond our budget and we would keep the exisiting 100 amp service they cancelled our agreed upon time to shut the power off for the electrical panel upgrade. My electrician was then forced to reapply for a new shut off date. Now we have to wait an additional three weeks for Oakville Hydro to shut off the power even though we applied in August and our renovation is now complete. If they were my contractor I would have fired them long ago.

I'm only giving one star because it forces me to. Oakville hydro are thieves. They don't read meters, they just make up an number and bill you. How is it that one month I decide to turn off all the baseboard heaters over night for a month straight and my bill is $10 more. So I figured, what's the point, the next month I left them on just like I did the month before last and now it's $100 more. Makes no sense, this past month business has been slower, so I haven't been using as much power and my bill is $100 more. They are a bunch of scammers

1) couldn t even access it last night to find out what bill they were talking about, and
2) when I finally did, this morning, It won t even allow me to send a concern.
3) is it THAT slow because you have so many people pissed?

submitted request multiple time because the stupid site would not respond.

If you re going to want to do this electronically, get in the game. "Please try again later" appears to be a common theme.

How do you lose power on Kerr. Multiple times this year. And do nothing to fix and prevent it? Clearly there is not enough brains in the operation. This company needs to be dissolved and a proper company of adequate capacity needs to step in.

Despite what others say on the reviews, the 3-4 times I have called them regarding questions I had for my services were outstanding. The customer service staff were nice and responsive to the questions I had for them.

Every month so overcharged for years. 2 bedroom apt no air conditioning, small fridge, small stove, 2 kids. Paying 250/300 a month for 9 years....in August moved to Milton 3 bedroom house with basement, green house and a garage converted to a workshop for a carpenter....paying $111 and $125 a month....just how is that make sense and we got air-conditioning now....thanks God we are done with the scaming from Oakville hydro.

0 star if there is an option. Terrible customer service during the time I used Oakville Hydro. I paid $500-$700 Monthy for the heat in one winter, and I called them to make sure the amount was correct, the lady who picked up the phone let me know that was the average hydro fee around my neighbourhood confidently.

Was that reasonable for an apartment? I highly doubt that. Terrible experiences.

Oakville Hydro is being used by fraudsters who call customers and tell them to call a tool free number and to pay overdue amounts on Saturdays, when Oakville Hydro is closed. The fraudsters spoof the Oakville Hydro automated phone system. Oakville Hydro should immediately mitigate the victimization of their clients by including an anti-fraud notice related to their overdue payment policy on their website and on their automated phone message.

I recently tried to log on to my online account.
With little success I called the phone number and spoke to Nancy.
She spent about ten minutes figuring out what I did wrong, was able to link different accounts for me.
Very pleasant and efficient.

Mediocre Utility - Horrible Service .... They replaced the underground cable in my neighbourhood and has been 6 weeks and the holes are still uncovered and cables exposed... This is the worst utility company in Canada .... I have contacted them numerous times, left messages and nothing gets done... Maybe when someone dies from wire contacts they will act....
