I had cervical spine surgery on 7/8/2020. Due to Covid, could not have any family with me. I stayed 2 days, and had a really positive experience. I had 3 different nurses in charge of my care, all were RNs. They were very kind, patient, and helpful. My PT and OT were both great in getting me on my feet. Also, the support staff.... aides, cleaning staff, clerical, etc.... were just as professional and friendly. Lastly, my preop experience was very fast.

The depth of caring from each individual in every department was so comforting. O'Connor Hospital is the equivalent of a bowl of Mom's chicken soup. And may I applaud the bravery and the sacrifice of the housekeepers to the doctors that fight to stop covid-19 face to face.

I ve been taking a Family Member there of and on for the last 4 years. Why is it that the staff, starting from the operators sound so unfriendly and overworked, they were this way before Covid but now that family can not go in or check on the patients personally, especially elders who are hard of hearing and can t always help themselves. The nurses are so unhappy and not personable, it s like they are there to do a job don t bother them otherwise. Doctors or nurses should be updating the family member/ caregivers.

I m not sure why I picked this Hospital again, especially now that there tied into Valley Medical where you would expect low budget service.

I was born here too but back then it was probably a nice clean and friendly Hospital.

I checked in the empty ER, 24 weeks pregnant with bad cough and abdominal pain. They made me wait for 2 hours and after that also they could not tell me how much longer would I have to wait. And according to them my severity was less. I had to return without any check up because it was getting difficult for me to sit their with pain.

I rarely write post about places, especially bad post, unless I had a memorable moment there. And this place, well let's say I haven't had a hospital make me feel bad for being worried about my health. I went into the ER on July 17th with symptoms of a heart attack. Now I am 22 years old, so you can understand my fear of why I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. Plus, both my family (mother and father side) have heart problems and we are prone to heart attacks. I went in to make sure and mostly to have the pain go away. When I got in at first they were okay, acting friendly and all that. But then my assigned nurse came to meet me, his interaction with me was dismissive of my heart attack. Understandable I'm young but he wasn't even concerned to why I was having chest pains. I tried to explain to him my concern with my family's health history but each time I spoke he would dismiss it. It was like he had made up his mind about my health and heart. Anyway, they ran two test and then confirmed I wasn't having a heart attack. My nurse told me that I was cleared but he didn't tell me what the problem was. I was still in extreme pain as he pretty much told me to go home. I was trying to get an answer but he just said well it isn't a heart attack so you can go home. No one even thought of giving me an answer or pain medicine. I left feeling cruddy both physically and at this point mentally. I felt like I was an idiot for being concerned and that my health is not important to even medical professionals. I went home and just tried to move on with my day but by 9 pm I couldn't deal with it anymore. The pain was at an extreme high and I needed help. I went to a different hospital. Told the the exact same thing but instead of dismissing my concerns they tested me for everything the pain could be. Even for a heart attack!! The nurse at Regional treated me with kindness and he showed concern to my pain. He helped me out way more than my nurse at O'Connor. Regional was able to help minimize the pain so I could even go back to my daily activity.
I was very disappointed at the service I had here. I wouldn't have minded the dismissive attitude my assigned nurse had, if I was at least given something for the pain. Or at least had someone tell me what to do with the pain. I feel like my experience at O'Connor has really soured my feeling of trust and safety with them. I don't see myself coming back here except in dire need. Otherwise, I am going to Regional from now on. They at least will go the extra mile to find out what the pain actually is coming from.

Their ER should be called non-Emergency Room. My daughter went there with a burn injury in excruciating pain. They made her wait for two hours before even a doctor saw her all the while telling her she'll be seen any minute. Dr. Campbell does not deserve to be a doctor much less an ER specialist. He was prescribing wrong medications. My daughter had to stop him. I do not recommend anyone visit their ER.
