Nuremore Hotel ****& Country Club, Carrickmacross, Ireland Review

Once though the under stated entrance the beautiful setting and grounds are enchanting in all seasons. Warm welcome by staff is there or sit and simply enjoy relaxing with good food a drink a friend.

Great helpful staff make for a relaxed but efficently run hotel.

Nice food, lovely Guinness.. Clean spacious rooms, staff very friendly with great service.. Golf course looked amazing didnt get to play torrential rain.. Leisure/Pool area not vert clean..

This is unbelievable and impressive place looks like Alice in wonderland , wonderful atmosphere and wonderfully nature views, very good option for peace of mind

Been here many times and wi be back again as very relaxed place and staff are very helpful. Great grounds to walk around.

The grounds are magnificent and the hotel foyer is lovely. However, the rooms are tired. Our room would have been beautiful 15 years ago. Everything had been bleached by the sun. I didn't mind that as the room was still lovely and clean. We had a beautiful view which was spoiled somewhat by the dirty windows. Our deal included our dinner. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food and the food was quite poor. Staff were all lovely. I think if you get a good deal, you should visit and as long as you are prepared for the fact that the hotel has had better days then you won't be disappointed

Enjoyed hitting a few golf shots around 11 holes some good some not so good but it was heaven compared to cocooning.

Looking a bit dated. Good service from all but one of the staff (a blonde girl in reception who found everything an effort).

Excellent customer service. A very good menu with delicious food.

Such a lovely place and everyone working there was so nice. We were only there one night but the room was quite large and the bed comfortable.

Joined the health club and gym today ,and glad to have,the staff were very pleasant and helpful .

The music was to loud did not play the songs people wanted.otherthanthat food and wine a nice touch

Stayed overnight for a wedding. The wedding was great, food was definitely well above average for the weddings I've been to. Decor in some parks of the hotel is a bit tatty. The only problem was the heat in the rooms. We turned off the radiator and opened the window and still couldn't sleep in April! Other guests had the same problem.

A bit lackadaisical, but the staff did have a lovely, friendly, nothing is too much trouble attitude.

Very dissatisfied with the service ordered two sandwiches one chicken and a cheese both were smothered with Marg my wife's cheese sandwich contained a thin slice out of a packet of cheese slices supposed to be a four star hotel I don't think so.

Very old and needs to be updated. Has a pool and bar, but rooms have no air and we happened to go at the hottest time they had this year, so being in the room was miserable

Nice Hotel for Family outings.. Kids meal was superb.. The Staffs, oh my.. They're absolutely friendly and very efficient.. They know your needs before asking them. Good Food and lovely atmosphere.

Long wait for a coffee when the place was very quiet and when I got it it was cold. Place could do with an upgrade as well. Very drab.

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Carrickmacross Co Monaghan.. A luxurious hotel that is a perfect setting for an elegant wedding. . Very good service and lovely food in the restaurant and bar area..

A hotel with large rooms in a nice, quiet part of Ireland. The attached fitness center was a hit with my in-laws, with a very large heated indoor pool and sauna. The hotel seemed to mostly cater to golf. The breakfast was your standard Full Irish. One star off only because the bathrooms had seen better days. They weren't gross or anything, just not particularly modern. Overall my family had a very nice time here and I'd recommend it for this area.

Staff were very help full the food was lovely .We used the leisure complex and had a very relaxing days thank you.

A lovely place to visit and enjoy a relaxing afternoon/evening with friends/family.

Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, building and surounding areas are lacking the touch of perfection. There were scuff marks on the walls, there was some red stains on the duvet cover and water in the shower took 5 minutes to warm up. In the garden there some plant remains that should have been removed last autumn. Which is weired because lawns around goolf course look immaculate. On the plus side SPA facility is most excellent. Mini facial and back massage were great. Sauna and pool is very good too.

Hotel needs a lot of work this hotel is tired run down and has serious dated interior tho staff were fantastic food was very nice I would not stay in this hotel again as it is stuck in the 80s looks more and feels more like an old people s home

Was at a wedding here recently, great day out. Food was very good and the place looked fantastic. Bar prices are a bit steep and here and there it could do with a lick of paint, but hey, hasnt been easy for any hotel in the last few years. All in all, very good.

Excellent food, lovely staff. Decor dated, toiletries pretty basic, no fridge in room, pool cold.

Very good service all round but the rooms are either too cold or absolutely boiling! Very nice place with very nice people!

Not a good idea to walk to this hotel from Carrickmacross in the dark, otherwise pretty amazing

Booked for 1 night on 24th Aug'18 with my collague, were greeted by charming Gentlemen given all info necessary, so pleasant he was (forget his name sorry) The room was excellent, so spacious and cleanliness exceptional. Enjoyed the comfortable bed, great sleep, so cosy. Food is exceptional also. The drive in to hotel is awesome, natural beauty with Lakes are astounding, golf course is magnificent. Beautiful areas all around this hotel to explore /inside is nice and welcoming, staff most friendly which stands out. Breakfast was first class, had to stay 2nd night we enjoyed it so much. Thank you to everyone at Nuremore for your lovely hospitality, we will return for certain, M. Gallagher

This is a lovely hotel. Large comfortable and well kept reception area. Staff very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The restaurant and general quality of food and service was excellent. The bedrooms are well appointed, clean and spacious.the leisure centre swimming pool steam room and gym is fantastic. The golf course is challenging and well maintained. Lovely welcoming clubhouse. The only reason I didn't award 5 stars is because a few minor areas need to be updated and refurbished. Overall very very good and I look forward to a return visit.

Needs refurbished. Room decor quite grubby. Dishes left outside overnight and empty bottles. Food just okay. Staff were helpful and friendly though.

We stayed here on a tour of Southern Ireland and I must say that the Nuremore is substandard, definitely not 4-star as advertised. Perhaps, it was close to 4-star 25 years ago but not now. I will start with the positives that kept me from Google rating it 1star. The grounds are very pretty. The staff is courteous and responsive. However, the rooms and furniture are very dated and cleanliness is questionable. The windows have mold around them. We had to be switched to a different room due to seeing and smelling mold. Our room in the "new" section also had mold but at least we couldn't smell it. The food at the restaurant is subpar. I usually will eat anything, my wife calls me the human garbage disposal, so when I skip a main course it is bad. Most 2-star hotels in the states are nicer than this. I truly think this property is in need a major multi-million euro renovation and it could be good. If you must stay in this area, I'd advise going elsewhere.

Enjoyed some great music, waiters looked like they wanted to be somewhere else.

Bedrooms clean and fresh but bathroom 303 a let down. No extraction working. No toilet brush. Shaving mirror in awkward access position just over W. C. cistern. No proper mixing valve on bath shower tap so potential for serious risk of scalding especially for kids. Bar Staff attentive but kitchen only served ordered chips after I finished my fillet steak and veg. Having breakfast at 0800 accompanied by painter painting window frames 10m from where we sat.

I've never actually eaten In the hotel. But the swimming pool is great if you are a member and you have to pay a lot of money and basically if you don't go you are wasting your money. It's a very clean well established hotel. But it kind of seems like it is in the middle of nowhere.

Food left a lot to be desired. It was not as described both of the evenings we ordered there. Atmosphere a bit dull in the bar.
Wouldn't go back unless a lot was changed.
