Hearty sweet and savory breakfast
I ve stayed at this Novotel a couple of times - it s my favourite hotel in Edinburgh. The beds are super comfy, with a nice bedroom layout. Staff are very welcoming and the breakfast is delicious! There is a nice pool jacuzzi steam room and Sauna too.
Amazing place to stay. Great reception with excellent service and the rooms were decent size too. Breakfast was excellent. Brilliant selection on food variety and tasty coffee in the morning. Paired with good service from the restaurant.
Quietly and seamlessly efficient. Second visit to this hotel and will come back if the price remains competitive.
Enjoyed our stay. Pleasant and helpful staff. Will again make use of their accommodation in the future.
The Novotel Edinburgh Central hotel I can thoroughly recommend. With first class facilities, lovely rooms, attentive staff and great buffet breakfast I cannot fault this hotel.
Excellent geographical position, very friendly and helpful staff, especially Mrs. Claudia of the reception, beautiful relaxation area with pool and jacuzzi, very good breakfast, varied and well prepared. The only sore rooms, although nice and spacious, a little sin 'in cleaning. All in all a very good place.
Good Hotel a stone's throw from. Center of Edinburgh. Good quality standard. Price in the standard
The location was very central and very good and great for sightseeing. The very good rooms and the service of the best
Lovely, if wet, weekend in Edinburgh to celebrate the wedding of our friend's son
Nicely presented. Friendly, helpful staff. Room upgraded as hotel was quiet. Card and treats waiting for us in our room from staff for our anniversary. Breakfasts -good selection and plentiful. Easy location for sightseeing with short walk through Grassmarket to the Castle and Royal Mile. Would definitely stay again
Staff very friendly, hotel generally and room clean and well equipped, although beds hard like a therapists couch. The heating didn't work in our room which was cold as our stay was in February, but a plug in heater was supplied after we had complained. Overall, our stay was ok but won't come again.
The comfortable bed and the fantastic shower. The rest is nothing special.
Really nice...
Nice room, good breakfast and welcome
Ok. Came for a work thing. Couldn't use the TV as there was no remote control, even asking at front desk didn't make one materialise. Swimming pool nice but small and quite public. Food nice. Bed was so hard I barely slept and the room was like a furnace even with the air con turned up to max
Have stayed several times now and never been disappointed. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the rain showers are a nice way to start the day. The Breakfast offers a wide variety of foods in a buffet style. Spa, gym and pool are nice add ons. People very friendly. Special mention for Claudia in reception who always smiles and for Henrique and Daniel; they really go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.
Very very helpful receptionist, I didn't catch her name but was definitely Spanish. Thank you
Modern hotel with convenient location. Both conference centre and the castle, the Grassmarket, and the Mile are in walking distance. Room was spacious and clean, quiet. Friendly and extremely supportive reception desk staff -everytime they did at least one more step than I requested and expected.
Can highly recommend Hotel Novotel Edinburgh Center, fantastic hotel, great for families, very non-hotel like, great artwork, great pool, they have thought of everything
The location is good and the staff provides an excellent service. The room could be cleaner though.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, and we will come again.
Lovely clean hotel. Nice spacious music bar. Small note that if two people are sharing a room, more tolietries would be nice. Loved the welcome Irn-Bru!! Good location, only about 15 minutes walk to Prince's Street. Will definitely stay here again.
Too bad the toilet and I canceled the reservation 2 days before arriving to offer me the same room I booked for an additional 100 pounds ....
Breakfast is horrible the only good thing is the location ...
Here and there you will find little quirks on objects. But nothing is wild. All in all, a very courteous staff and the atmosphere is very pleasant! The breakfast is extensive and the bar has a generous More
Nice hotel. But no air-conditioning so was very hot last week

The location of the hotel is its strong point, a few minutes walk from the center of Edinburgh. The area is quite quiet. The common facilities with a lot of charm and I decided with a "vintage" air. The weak point is the rooms (standard) lack maintenance and some renovation.
excellent hotel with excellent service, abundant breakfast and sublime rooms. Recommended
Smart and luxurious, comfortable and friendly, very pleasant
Well positioned, a short walk to the Caledonia side of Princes street. Rooms are comfortable, staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast spread in the morning was good too. Would recommend.
Good city centre location within easy walking distance to Edinburgh Castle. Very family friendly. Reasonably well equipped gym, no weights but a variety of cardio machines and swimming pool. Apparently there is a jacuzzi but didn't make use of it. Hotel bar is surprisingly trendy, good for a drink. Restaurant is OK. Would recommend for families looking for central location or business trips - hotel is also very close to Edinburgh conference centre.
I spent 6 nights. I was in a medical meeting at the EICC. I rate Hotel services as very good and the staff very attentive.
Typical Novotel with central location, pretty close to Edinburgh castle
Superb location, spacious rooms, indoor pool, jacuzzi ... highly recommended
In my opinion it is not up to par with other Novotels. We requested a family rom, but if it's okay it's a double .... too small for 4 people: either open the door or open the suitcase ... both things don't fit. We were not able to turn off the air conditioning: an exaggerated cold. For 4 people only two bottles of bubble bath. Breakfast, 10 pounds each, a bit poor, I don't know if it depends on Covid, but the buffet is still quite poor. Cleaning, again due to COVID19, is only on request. The staff on the other hand is very helpful.
Probably one of the best hoyels in edimburgh for the price, the food was excellent and the room was very clean, coming next year!!
Nice hotel. Kids loved the pool and health facilities. Handy to have a bar/restaurant there as well as another proper restaurant. Rooms were nice and modern and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The room was clean. The staff were helpful. The location was perfect. The breakfast was a bit expensive, so we went offsite as there's lots in the area. Overall, it met our needs and expectations.
Good location and good for Family and business need.
Bar was nice, pretty quiet though but it was late afternoon. The price of a glass of wine was expensive but pint was generally in the ball park firva pint in Edinburgh.
Terrible customer service, my company supported a course held at the hotel and the staff were not helpful and were rude
Excellent, friendly service, clean and tidy....oh and a great breakfast selection.
Quite well connected hotel with a great view. Check online for better rates than you may end up getting on the Novotel site itself.
Good breakfast, though look elsewhere for cheaper lunch and dining options.
Rooms though are well equipped and staff - helpful too
Hotel welcoming place well good restaurant, room very well pool spa jacuzzi well big default do not speak French only and again
The truth is that I would repeat the accommodation. The location, cleanliness, the extensive hours of the pool, comfort of the room, everything perfect. The only thing to improve is the restaurant with very little variety and very small portions for the price they charge, in addition to coming drinks from the bar many times arrived untimely, after lunch. I would improve it without doubts since to be able to use the pool until late and everything to finish so early in the city, it is very comfortable to dine in the hotel.
Stayed overnight and had one of the best stays ever in the capital. Room superb on the 5th floor. Just recently refurbished. Very quiet and super comfy bed. We didn't eat in the hotel but had breakfast which was certainly busy but everything you would ever want. Staff just made this place. Super helpful and always with a smile. Great wee bar at night with live music.
Great rooms, great breakfast, very friendly, centrally located, airport bus stops directly in front of the hotel.
Hotel is very nice indeed, but services and personal is mediocre at best.
Clean hotel, near the center and correct breakfast. The super small quad rooms and towels too
Classic Novotel. A little disappointed by the parking management.
Nice hotel in a nice area. Breakfast was pretty standard but no complaints
The room was spacious, clean and tidy with everything you'd need. Good bar and restaurant downstairs and very friendly staff.
Great hotel with a very cool music orientated bar. Cane to Edinburgh with a plan of going to the Xmas market but ended up staying in the hotel, using the swimming pool, jacuzzi and eating and drinking at the bar. Been here twice, definitely go again. Oh and the staff are awesome!
Loved our whole stay, can t say enough good things. All of the staff we met were super friendly and polite, from reception, to housekeeping, to the bar. We had our corgi puppy with us, and she was made to feel like one of the family - it was such a dog friendly place! Shame we couldn t take her into the restaurant but it was nice to sit in the bar with her. The room was cosy, with great blackout curtains, a comfy bed and a super modern bathroom - loved the USB ports by either side of the bed too. My only suggestion in the room would be to make the bathroom tap higher - it was hard to fill the kettle!
Very comfortable room, breakfast has a great choice. Staying here for three nights and hotel is well situated to see the city.
Good location
Car park discount
Little variety for breakfast, maybe due to covid19 season?
Good size room 2+2
Nice and quiet
Definitely Not overpriced looking at hotel's location
Would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh for couple of days
Great hotel room. Lovely staff and brilliant included breakfast. I think the restaurant is a bit pricey, but hotels always do that. Lots of nice places nearby
Very nice staff recommended us what we could visit could be delicious
We thought the hotel was excellent. Good position for city centre, well maintained hotel, with great staff.
Location is near enough to the centre of the city. Rooms quite good. Breakfast was I adequately staffed so no hot drinks. Restaurant had good food, reasonably priced for hotel food.
The hotel is really well placed, a short walk from the castle, close to a bus route, restaurants and supermarkets.
The staff is nothing more, not really friendly.
The room is spacious and clean. The comfortable bedding. Small flats: the bar above the door fell, it was full of nails, it could have been very dangerous. No apology from the staff who were reported to have reported this incident.
Smells of food (grilled meat) were coming up from time to time in the room.
Breakfast really top, even if a lot of people. Many choices, super nice room. On the other hand, from the cutlery on the plate, we came to get rid of it, which does not help to fight against waste I think.
Very good facilities (pool and gym).
My stay was really good. the location was perfect - close to all the main sights on the Royal Mile and Princess Street. The room was small but comfortable and just what I needed.
I did not use the eating facilities, but from what I saw it was excellent as well. The bar was good - and open late!
Very pleasant hotel with a cozy bar
The hotel is 5 minutes walk from grassmarket and the university.
The plus: swimming pool and gym in the basement.
Everything was great. The only thing i would have liked is classic cocktails at the bar. The wife and i wanted to knock back some long islands and margaritas. But the bar only had their own cocktails which wasn't great
Everything was very good. Service and food. Especially love the location.
Family stay of 5 days.
Hotel very well located. Staff fairly pleasant. Top pool but towels not pick up the day !! Breakfast at the top.
Ok bar and restaurant.
Clearly positive experience. Friendly and kind staff. Perfect early check-in.
Great relaxation center.
Very well located and served by buses (stops qlq meters) breakfast is more than complete and the staff at the reception makes the effort to speak French.
A pleasant hotel with friendly staff. The best thing about it is the location. It is close to all the attractions but away from the crowds. The city sightseeing bus has a stop just outside the hotel. Would recommend it to families traveling to Edinburgh
Great hotel with very stylish and comfortable rooms.
Excellent location, clean and well equipped room, very good breakfast and small and pleasant relaxation area but a real problem with the cleaning of the rooms. 3 days on site, day 1 floor not made, day 2 suite not made at 5:00 pm we had to claim and day 3 suite not made at 6:00 pm, we gave up ... Not worthy of a hotel of this quality ...
