I will never list any home with Nostalgic based on my experience with them as a buyer. From the first interaction with the listing agent, Jill was unprofessional and rude. Sitting and eating during a open house while prospective buyers toured on their own seemed odd to me and not being able to answer simple questions about the history of the property were just a couple of things that I intially encountered.
We go under contract after the first buyer falls through (who knows what really happened) and I was excited to purchase and renovate this 1950 s ranch. The inspection returns with a laundry list of deferred maintenance items and most concerning; there s water under the house and the seller/agent don t have any idea why.
The agent throws a tantrum with my agent and says it s all been a waste of time when we submit our objections. I m fairly certain that s the entire reason inspections are completed and then negotiated. The selling agent told us the seller wouldn t be making any accommodations for the $20k in necessary repairs and prepared termination documents so we didn t waste anyone else s time . Incredibly short sighted, unprofessional and immature. I feel bad for anyone who s chosen to list their home with this company!

Was hung up on by two agents at this place. I ve never been treated so nastily by a group of individuals as I have been by these agents. I contacted the owner, Corey Wadley, who made it clear that I was disrupting his lunch, yet did not want to schedule a time, that I was beneath him. He did not even pretend to care about my horrible experience with his agents.
When I notified him of the lack of professionalism displayed by one of his agents, I was told that she sells (blank) houses a year and that she has a reputation! That, apparently, is what this company is about. Selling lots of houses. Morals come in wayyyyyyy wayyyyyy down down downnnn in the fine print I suppose. It's more of a gesture maybe?

Run, don't walk. Although well-paid, they won't represent your interests, and are simply neighborhood sales people out to make their sales quotas at your expense.
Some lessons learned...it s not a bad idea to bring your own trusted handyman or have your favorite family DIYer along so that you have an idea of the home's true condition. That s what the home inspector s for, yet he suddenly turned "blind". Home inspectors are not regulated or licensed in Colorado, so no protection or enforcement there.
It's all about the actual condition (structural and cosmetic), which can quickly become costly above the sell price after you've signed on the dotted line. Insist on keeping any hard-copy comps (for some reason, these weren't emailed to me), or better yet, research your own comps online to have a more realistic picture, instead of your agent's hand-picked selections.
Look for over-staging, issues not mentioned by the home inspector, sellers who repeatedly ask to be present during your post-inspection walk-throughs (blocking your ability to really get a good look at everything) and a surprisingly clean non-disclosure form that may not match your handyman's observations. What seemed okay at the time was a different story once all the furniture and sellers were removed from the property.
It's all about uncovering what's being hidden by the seller, his agent, your own agent, and your agent's home inspector recommendation, all anxious to make the sell, so you can negotiate with the seller before the closing...or walk. While you can try to negotiate price down for a not-new home, there's also the cost of your time and hassle to find good contractors in a busy, thriving Denver market.
When I started to bring up issues discovered shortly after the closing, Nostalgic Homes quickly pointed out that their contractual obligation ended the day of the closing. They've replied to this Yelp review as if I hadn't "simply discussed your issues with us directly when you had the opportunity."...when the truth is, I was plenty direct, yet there was never going to be an opportunity to bring up issues after the closing once the house was cleared of is heavy staging because 'We're not lawyers". They then suggested I go to the Colorado Real Estate Commission with my complaints although the correct start would be with the Colorado Division of Real Estate. Sounds like but is not the same thing. Just more examples of their shady.

It would be impossible to give Nostalgic Homes anything but 5 stars. Jenny Apel worked with me through 3 transactions selling my rental properties and each one were under contract within two weeks. I have a commercial building listed with her now. Her professionalism was outstanding through her suggestions in marketing and especially in staging. In each transaction, the staging transformed our properties to show home condition. Jenny is amazing, you can not find anyone better.
