When I was sixteen, clumsy, and shy I went to London and I booked myself in at the the YWCA and it was great value for my money with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. I did once get locked in the garden. Worth it tbh
The YWCA home is a great place to be for the (those) who want a trip to London and stay affordable and good in a homely environment. Easy distance to downtown. We're going to London this fall, but unfortunately there was no room in the "hostel". YMCA home recommended! (also for families!) Greeting

Great place to stay, good location, with many transport options in the neighborhood. Grocery store, bookstore, bakery and much more, just 3-4 minutes walk away. Incredibly good price, great value and great staff, who answer all questions. Recommended!
