Condos are awesome however be prepared to haul your gear down the shuttle, maybe 300 feet at most. Traffic outside of the resort but nice within after lifts close. Hella pricey but tots worth it. Gondola to the Ritzs is free. Very very nice. Slopes are pure dope and hecka maintained. Good signage but you gotta know your greens and blues theres always a black dimond off the main lines seemingly. Staff was super friendly and real!

Super popular ski resort. We'll developed with its own ski village. A lot of shops and restaurants though of course most are on the pricey side. The skiing is great though overall it costs a lot to play here. It definitely has a great resort feel to it, though if you only care about skiing there are other places that's just as good and way less expensive.

Great variety of slopes. Modern facilities. Beautiful views. A little pricey (111 USD if you buy a week in advance; 126 USD if you buy a day in advance). Food is pricey too (chicken sandwich 16 USD before tax ; beef chilli cup 11 USD). There is quite a bit of walking from the parking lot to the ski area, even if you take the bus.

It s pretty great, I only wish there were more middle class options for staying in the village limiting choice to the super wealthy and upper middle class families makes resorts miss out on a fun atmosphere. I d love it if they had a microhotel like they do in whistler. A good tip is to take the TART bus from truckee if you re lucky enough to stay at the hostel there as the parking lot is the least fun part of any ski resort anywhere! There is a big snowboarding culture because of the park thankfully and if it were only skiiers this would be just another boring place with nothing fun or creative or inspiring to look at when you re riding. While food is high I don t feel it s a Vail thing pretty much every place in Tahoe seems to sell lots of gross greasy meat burgers or burrito with cheap cheese and mystery flesh or deep fried stuff for $21 and is out to rip off the tourists. It d be cool if they had affordable ramen with great broth or banh mi or roti and tastier veggie options but bad american food is part of the ski experience in america. It s a nice place to get into tree skiing and man this place would be nothing without the snowboarders who add a soul and life that makes all the hassles worth it !

Experienced one of the worst customer service moments of my entire life. Staff was incredibly rude and even displayed physical agresion. My wife and her mom got her passes mixed up, and rather than helping fix the confusion, a staff member grabbed the passes from their hands and put them in his jacket pocket in a clear demonstration that he was keeping them, accusing them of fraudulent use. It was a confusion man! Eventually we got a new set of passes but man, it was enough to ruin a day of skiing. The resort is beautiful but don't expect staff to solve anything for you. The place needs to seriously reconsider the temperament of the staff they have on the ground.

Northstar is fun to ski for intermediate skiers. I will remark that the price of lift tickets seems to have risen without any real changes in the resort. Buy your lift tickets before arriving.

Improve your bussing services particularly for day guests. You should have a better system to park people and be able to get the busses through. Waiting over an hour to get on the bus in the parking lot is terrible customer service.

The general feel is pretty lame. What's here is generally pricey (as one might expect), and there isn't much of it. Restaurant menus disappoint in variety, and the product generally disappoints in overall quality and value for dollar (i.e. it's expensive and not very good).

I love the snow, but since there aren't a ton of ski resorts they charge whatever they want. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. Even after the hundreds for a day trip up there, they charge $65 for 2 waters, a Gatorade, a bowl of chilli, chicken straps, and a lettuce wrap.

I was NorthStar for the Interbike show. Show started at NorthStar Resort then moved to Reno Sparks Convention Center. If your into bikes you need to be at the NorthStar leg of the show in 2019. Its open to the public price of admission is a waiver of liability and drivers liscence. You will see the latest in ebikes mountain bikes and gear. 2018 show let you ride the tram up and bike down. My opinion is this will be so popular in 2019 that 2020 may be invite only.

I love this resort. I visited many other resorts in Tahoe but I particularly find northstar very family friendly. My four year old kid took ski lessons. The school was very good and the entire ski school area was separate so I find it much safer for kids.

Easy, friendly mountain. Love that there's a lodge off of most of the lifts hidden in the corner. Nice cozy downtown area. ( Yes it's a Vail resort so expect it to be commercialized ) . Make your way to the backside, you won't be disappointed

I love skiing Northstar in the winter but this place is also a winner in the summer. The village is beautiful with a nice variety of clothing and equipment stores, restaurants/food kiosks serving everything from sushi to frozen yogurt, and a huge skating rink for rollerblading/skating in the summer to ice skating in the winter. At one end of the rink is a stage where local talent plays every afternoon. The rink is surrounded by outdoor bars and comfortable seating around firepits.
There's lots of activities for kids in the village: a miniature golf course that encircles the village's common area, a sandbox, bungy jumping, gold panning, a movie theater and more.
Without snow the mountain becomes one of the best mountain bike parks in the country and also has hiking paths that take you up to a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. So much to do, so little time! There's also an 18 hole golf course, horse-back riding and a nature trail with over 20 ceramic tiles for you and your kids to look for. And oh yes, it's only 6 miles to Kings Beach/Lake Tahoe to the south and 6 miles to Truckee to the north.
You'll love it, I promise.

I m writing an review about Brian, from the security department of Northstar. Our car got broken into today. It took a very long time, 1.5 hrs, for the police department to give us a case number. However, Brian spent the whole time with us to help, he tried to call the police department several times for us, and let us stay in his car so we can keep warm. He also helped us to tape the window that was broken. Super nice guy, it s good to have someone as helpful after such an unfortunate incident.

Lots of slopes, which was great. The day started out icy but they supplemented with snow for the rest of the day.
Also one area of the resort lost power for part of the day. It was quite a problem for the cafe staff because suddenly they couldn't cook or use the payment machines. I think they handled it alright despite the stressful situation, and there was no panic. Would come again!

Pretty good experience with the whole reservation and parking self pay system. Amazing what a little virus can do for innovation. The outdoor tables are spaced nice with placards for cleaning, although users of the tables don't flip the placards we saw. The food is self serve and people can't follow directions in line, especially single riders. However, that's not the staff's fault, it's the impatient idiots in the single line or people too busy messing with their dopamine device to pay attention. Other than that a wonderful experience despite the current situation.

Parking is so bad, if you want to pay anything under 20$ to park ON TOP OF YOUR LIFT TICKET then parking is only a 15 minute wal . Otherwise your waiting half hour both ways for the bus from the distant parking lot. True bummer.
