Horrible company, with very shady practices. I've filed complaints with multiple agencies and found out I'm not alone. They refuse to go through your insurance and expect you to pay thousands of dollars immediately or you will be turned over to collections as the wording on the bill they sent me said the WEEK I returned home after my heart bypass surgery. When I contacted my insurance even they said Northstar anesthesia was not co-operating with them. Before you have surgery find out who your anesthesiologist works for. I had back surgery US anesthesia partners of texas were awesome and I have had no problems with them. Northstar anesthesia will try and scam as much as they can and believe they are above the law.

Horrible business has a nasty habit of double charging you and your insurance company. When you explain that it has been paid for already and refuse to pay again they report you to the credit bureau for a bill you don't owe I refuse to use this company ever again

If I could give them ZERO stars I would.

NorthStar's customer service is horrible. They overbilled my insurance and refuse to respond to letters from UHC who found the error.

The amount they owe me is almost $600 and they appear to be content to keep it. My daughter went to an in-network hospital in Michigan for emergency services and I was billed at the higher out-of-network rate wrongly for both the doctor and CNA.

This has dragged out for a year and a half...I guess I'll have to get an attorney, but dealing with them has cost me many phone calls and multiple hours on the phone.

I am being charged for anesthesia when I had my daughter - over 3 years ago. They never sent a bill to me and my insurance said they paid it. Horrible practices - if you have a child at Baylor in FTW request a different anesthesia company. HORRIBLE SERVICE

Don't put up with outrageous balance billing from NorthStar Anesthesia! There is a new Texas law that might be able to help you. Google "How to get help with a surprise bill you got from a health care provider". This should give you a link to Texas Department of Insurance that will walk you through the Medical Medication process for consumers. Thank you Texas Legislative body for providing consumer protection against such gouging.

This company refuses to send me a correct bill even though I am getting threatening calls from them saying this is my final notice. The people who handle the billing are rude and very unprofessional and keep saying they sent bills even though the amount is incorrect.

I never received a bill from NorthStar Anesthesia just a "This is an attempt to collect a debt" letter from ARC Management Group. NorthStar Anesthesia double billed my insurance provider on 2 separate surgeries. These people need to get their billing department in order. I paid ARC Management however I am sure someone will have to reimburse me as I had already completely met my out of pocket expenses. I would have never known that I had a bill, since I never received a bill from NorthStar.

Horrible company no one answers the damn phone their website doesn't work to pay your bill and since they don't answer the phone you can't tell them the website doesn't work they just send threatening letters this company is ridiculous and I find it hard to believe a hospital would entrust them with patients lives!

I received a bill for a surgery in 2020 and this organization is the worst. I have provided them in writing 3 x of my insurance coverage, and called the billing # and corporate # multiple times with never receiving one single phone call. I can't even log on the patient portal because the only statement I have received, has a combination of numbers for the account #, but none of them work! SO FRUSTRATED!!

They only provide one phone number to pay invoices...

They only provide one phone number to pay invoices through and the "customer service reps" reached through this number are NOT NorthStar Anesthesia employees. It is a third party company with incredibly unprofessional representatives.

Expect to receive no useful information concerning your bill. They will claim to have mailed statements that they have not.

Recently contracted Northstar's services for a large hospital system in Kentucky. Since they came in, our subsidies have skyrocketed (largely in the form of locums fees), our surgeons are furious and leaving in droves, and the providers they brought have resulted in an increase in morbidity/mortality. There will be a renegotiation or we will go another direction.

Zero star. The anesthesist was very unprofessional; he endangered mine and my unborn child's life. Also, I was having painful contractions and he said, "many women go through childbirth without anesthesia, so he would not give it to me if I don't stay still". I tried to report to northstar, but no reply. This is a terrible company. I'll like to sue them for harassment!

These guys have owed my family over $1,000 since last September, over a year ago. They never should have accepted the payment in the first place and now at that well have to wait ANOTHER 2 months to get our money back. We can't get ahold of anyone in corporate and have even threatened legal action against them, but still don't have our money back. This company has terrible service. Avoid them at all cost!

Sent me to debt collections after 3 months of COVID-19, never received my bill in the mail, called multiple times and spoke to people about wanting to set up monthly payments, was always told that once the paper bill arrived we could log into the account and figure it out. Then all of a sudden I get a call from a debt collector. If I ever have a choice on provider I will not be using them again.

Same as others have already complained. I received a bill from collectors agency. I don't remember seeing a bill from this provider in the past, and who I don't remember seeing. Apparently, they did an anesthesia for me without my knowledge who they were. Now they are charging me for a service that was not paid by my insurance. It's not right. Now I'm afraid my credit will be effected if I don't pay.

Called them to try to get answers, but no answer. I had to leave a voicemail. Just another scam.

Never received an invoice; only voicemails about a payment being past due 6 months post surgery. I ignored because I thought it was a scam at first. I was able to follow the number left on voicemail and got someone on the phone quickly but communication wasn't very effective. I asked for an invoice by mail twice and never received it because they had my address wrong. They did email me a copy of my invoice and I never received a paid copy of my invoice. I don't know if anyone has the power to ask for a different billing company or it just defaults through this one.

Received only a call. I requested they send a bill since we had a vehicle stolen and upon recovery we learned my entire medical file was stolen. I have already paid the rightful anesthesiologist for my surgery so this claim of over $2k seem sketchy. Instead of a bill they sent it to a collection agency that seems to think this is a legitimate bill. Because of the details provided. I'm calling the hospital where my operation took place confirming through medical records to whom should be paid. I do have a police report filed from the theft of the medical file. And I'll be looking into Texas department of insurance for any guidance on possible price gouging.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I was paying off monthly as much as I could. And WITHOUT the NorthStar Anesthesia billing department giving me even a curtesy call they just sold the rest of my debt off to a collection agency. I was honestly shocked and very upset. I was paying monthly and if I missed a month I d double the payment the next month. I gave birth and had my epidural in April of 2020 during COVID-19 biggest lockdown and job loss nation wide. So this bill honestly was a big dent into my savings. I called multiple times to see if there was anyway I could get the total cost lowered and the billing department was very short with me and would just redirect me to paying as much as I could monthly. Well just to find out they ended up selling it to a collection agency which they probably sold for much lower price that I was willing to pay up front if they gave me the time of day. But the billing department refused to talk with me like a valid customer and sold it without any concern.

ZERO STARS!! The absolute worst! I had a c-section in 2017. So far, I've received a bill in 2017 that I paid in full and then another in 2018 that I paid in full and now another in 2019, I will not be paying this one! This company is a scam! Why am I still receiving bills from a 30 minute c-section that took place in 2017?

This is hard for me to write since it stirs up one...

This is hard for me to write since it stirs up one of the most horrifying expediences of my like. I went in for what I thought to be a simple surgery.

Not ever having surgery before I did not know what to expect myself but when I heard the ripping of skin and the excruciating hell-fire burning pain that followed as the doctor cut into me, I SCREAMED FOR MY LIFE!

It was at that point the doctor said and I quote (only because I was fully awake for this) "I don't think the patient should be feeling this.

I should have known how incompetent the anesthesiologist was when he acknowledged upfront that he was not sure of himself and called for help.

To this day I have nightmares of this experience. I don't like slamming people for their actions but if I can steer just one person away from this organization and save them from a horrible experience like mine, it will be worth it.

I don t remember the surgery so I guess they did a good job...

The 1 Star is b/c they sent me to collections 2 months after I paid my bill in full. Their collections agency ARC Management Group is very confrontational asking for personal identifiable information before identifying themselves or making you feel like they aren t scammers. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I sent in proof of payment and called them. Let s see if they get their act together.

Had the WORST experience with a Dr. Katie Hickman ...

Had the WORST experience with a Dr. Katie Hickman at Baylor in Fort Worth before and after my surgery. I have never felt more put down and degraded by someone who was supposed to be helping me and making me feel at ease. She did NOT care about my well being or my pain. I will absolutely be taking this up further and will contact the board of nursing and anesthesia. To think you employ someone like this is HORRIBLE! She should be fired and never be allowed to practice in ANY healthcare system again!!

Could I give less stars?! The guys that were there for my 3 different surgeries were awesome... glad they were professional! Quite scary if they weren't! But service stopped there! I understand billing is not fun... but do your job in a professional manner without causing people that have most likely been through the ringer more drama! The billing department WANTS to make paying for your bills so extremely difficult, confusing, demeaning, demoralizing. Even when you insurance has paid very, VERY well! The computer system for paying online is appatently extremely antiquated and NOT TO BE TRUSTED! Extremely unprofessional! They WANT to cause harm! My experience but best I can tell from reviews from various sources, pretty typical. Sad. Most of us want to do what's right. But apparently northstar anesthesia lives by a different code... to betray the patients after they have you in thier grasp! The truth is, after surgery we are no longer a patient we are just a random account that no longer matters to a big corporation!
