Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District Review

I regularly rode the South Shore rail line to work for over two years. The trains were often late, and the ride to Chicago is surprisingly slow (50+ minutes from the East Chicago station). Combine that with a shoddy air conditioning system in summer months, and it's no surprise that I found a job closer to home as soon as possible.

I truly hope that the NICTD is serious about improving the rider experience through train upgrades and a southward expansion of the rail line itself. This is the only way I would consider becoming a regular rider in the future.

Great way to get from South Bend to chicago. You avoid all the traffic, parking fees, toll fees. Tons of train stops convenient to shopping, museums, baseball, football, eating, and many other fun activities. You don't wear yourself driving over there and after you've had a day of fun you don't have to worry about driving home
